For the time being there are two things you can do to help yourself in the future as it's unlikely that we will see a change to the forum's PM system.

1. Regularly delete PMs that you don't need to maintain a shorter history.
2. Figure out the earliest and latest dates the PM was sent, and with a CTRL + F + 'keyword' or 'username' go through the pages one by one, taking into consideration suggestion #1.

@OP: my method is Search for "e", by user Royse777. That shows almost all posts in my Inbox. I check the date of the post I'm looking for, and go to the same date in my Outbox (that takes a few clicks). I usually find the post there.
If you're looking for a user who never sent you a post, you're out of luck Tongue

But if the messages have a subject and not just "no subject", it will help with this search.
If we all have appropriate attitudes when using MPs, everything will be much easier when it comes to finding a conversation.
Small gestures, big results.  Wink

so I find it interesting that I am 28000/43000 = 65% of my posts. Damn it is a lot

Let's do the math. Your regular posts are 43,700 and your inbox is 28,000 = 71,700 posts

You have been active for about 11 years
71,700 : 11 years = 6,518 post per year
6,518 : 365 days = 17.8 posts per day,

That's crazy, you are really a high quality spamer, LOL   Grin
In fact, your posts are more than Robot ChartBuddy

Do you still have 10 fingers after writing that much?  Cheesy

I am surprised that your outbox spanned upto 125 pages.
I'm surprised it's only 125 Tongue

Another idea: download all pages. Use browser.altClickSave (note that I haven't tested this) and you run through your 125 pages in 3 minutes. Do a local text search, and keep the data for next time.

My inbox is huge    802
My outbox is huge  601. so 1403 x 20 =

28000+

and I deleted 2000-3000 ins and outs.

I could swear that I read somewhere many years ago that a full PM export is possible but only if theymos approves it. He also has to be the one to do it. It took me some time to find the post, but here is the proof that I haven't gone mad
Other than Theymos speaking about this back in 2016, I think that other members mentioned this idea several times in last few years.
I don't think this is such a hard thing to add, since I only want to download messages that are available in my inbox and that are not deleted by me.
Either that or we get a new forum software, because right now bitcointalk PM communication system is big pain in the ass Wink

The messages is a witness to the journey on the bitcointalk forum, and for me the private message feature is very important because when there is something to talk about personally with several people do not have to access private email and still take anonymity, focus on what is discussed in a small way and cannot be made replay or thread, the factor affects the quality of a topic if you want to discuss one or two sentences, indeed can only sort alphabetically from outbox recipients, I always delete periodically or the contents of useful messages I copy to notes for me to read later, no more than 3 pages of my inbox history, by sorting according to the alphabet and utilizing the page search feature (ctrl + f) on the browser, for me it is sufficient and effective, in the simplest and easiest way I can.

Forum PM (Outbox)

I am surprised that your outbox spanned upto 125 pages. This is really much, it seems you are busy in the pm as much as you are busy in the general forum. No wonder you always indicate that users shouldn't contact you through pm.

Let's do the math, and the number of messages Royse might receive in his outbox is 2,500, which is 30% of his regular posts. If we add an inbox then there is a 60% chance that Royse will be busier in PM than in regular posts.  Shocked

Do you want to see my inbox? It looks cool and you will definitely be surprised when you see it

I still haven't really been able to get a specific idea of how to manage sent messages.
The search system only works for inbox, it does not work for outbox.

Unfortunately, you can't use labels, so everything gets mixed up and there's no way to change it. At least I haven't found it yet.

Maybe you have made this kind of encounter because you probably receive alot of inbox and also sends messages often for you to have reach upto this far in numbers of pages for your PMs, someone like me will only receive messages occasionally, I've spent moe than a month without having PM, so i may not really see a need to engage searching through the exact message sent or received when the ones i have were few already to easily glance through, some don't even like keeping messages like that, but it's actually good for a reference sake in case of the future.

PS
It would be very useful if Theymos or someone else could add option of manually exporting all our messages.
Maybe material for new SMF patch by PowerGlove? Wink
I could swear that I read somewhere many years ago that a full PM export is possible but only if theymos approves it. He also has to be the one to do it. It took me some time to find the post, but here is the proof that I haven't gone mad:

I actually have code written for exporting PMs into an mbox file compatible with Thunderbird, but I haven't gotten around yet to figuring out how best to present this functionality to users. (It's unusual because it takes a bit of time to generate and the resulting file should maybe be encrypted.)

If any established members have a strong need for it, I can manually create an export for you. For example, if you have so many PMs that the PM page is slow to load for you, you can get a PM export from me and then use the "purge PMs" feature. I'll probably only do this one time per person...

Whether or not this offer is still available is another question.

Now someone suggest me how would I going to find a PM (Outbox) that I sent to a specific user (or may be I have not sent yet)? I don't know the subject too.
First you seriously need to start deleting bunch of your old redundant messages Cheesy
What I usually use is combination of search insider browser with CRTL+F function, and I rearrange messages by receiver or by date.

You can easily use the search messages option on the left side oy your screen under "Preference", all you just need to do is include the probable word you are quite sure you might have used in the content of this said message, when it brings out the results in the "Author" column, it's going to show your username instead of the recipient(s) and/or probably both, your username being the Author indicates that it is an outbox message.
I already did before creating this topic. Doesn't work for outbox :-(

I double checked, I believe I was only able to get result with my username in the Author's column because I responded to the PM with the "reply all" option which also included me as both the sender and one of the recipients, hence, the misinterpretation from me, after I opened the message I indeed discovered it was as an inbox, but with my username as the Author as well.

Alternatively, you could just click on that "To" button. It will arrange usernames of members you have sent messages to in the past alphabetically in a descending or ascending order. Now all you have to do is scroll through the specific username you have in mind after zeroing down on the page.

This was very useful and I found the desired outbox message I was looking for.

This doesn't work, when you search a someone messages with his username it will filter all his or her post to you whereby it won't give the real results. I just searched of someone messages on inbox/outbox but i didn't get the right message rather than a total filter of their post where his names are being post on the forum.

Unfortunately, the Search Personal Messages function only works with received messages in your "Inbox", not with "Outbox". So, I don't think there is an easy way right now, except to manually go through all the pages in your outbox and use the search function in the browser (F3) for a quick keyword search.

The search function you mention only works on the inbox though, not on the outbox. As far as I’m aware, there is no way to search the outbox. The best one can do is sort by "to" by clicking the header, and then find the pages related to the user being sought, scrolling through the posts which are then ordered by date (ascending).
