From my understanding, you only need a powered riser if your rig have more than 3 gpu cards. I've seen a lot of people don't run powered riser with more than 3 cards, but are running high quality PSU's. I recommend for PSU of the following brands: Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power & Cooling and Antec.

you need a good psu which can support all the cards, you need ~60A+ on the 12v rail, stay away from raidmax PSU it will burn down your house, and kill all your hardware if you are unlucky, worst case you need to use multiple PSUs for the cards.

hey guys

i got confused. i bought 4x 7950 and 4X riser card PCI express 1x to 16x and someone told me it dosent work and maybe ill burn my MB cus i need to have them with molex! and someone told me i dont need molex so what should i do?

btw my gpu is 7950 sappire and mb is Msi b75a g41 so those simple riser card could be set with my mb and gpu or i have to need molex one?
