So does the tip bot totally cockblock reddcoin from their ambitions? I haven't really followed them, but wasn't their killer app supposed to be tipping in social media?

does the world really need reddcoin?

I think facebook will be a tipping point for the service right now 80% is done through reddit and 15% through twitter.  If people can send microtransactions through facebook I think the service will explode.
+1
I am not so sure about this. Facebook is very insecure and accounts get hacked all the time. There would be too many instances of people loosing their money because their account got hacked
It would have to be implemented intelligently, but there are solutions for everything. And it would still be an amazing promotion even if the occasional account got hacked. There's always idiots who use "1234" as their password. Let them get robbed.

I think the tip bot is a great idea. The ammounts are so small that almost nobody liquidates them. What the hell are you going to do with 40 cents that's on an exchange? Are you seriously going to ask them to cut and mail you a check, or wire it to your bank account? No, it's more like a tiny hit of crack. Get's the ball rolling. I'm surprised at how many people still don't know what bitcoin is. You would think everyone in the world would have atleast heard about it one time. But no. There's still people who haven't even heard the term "bitcoin" yet. It's pretty amazing and goes to show that most of us are inside of a bubble. (Not the good kind)

The ease of use is what makes this service so great.  People can send money using natural language no need to fumble around with a phone.  This is the internet equivalent of apple pay.

Facebook tipping has not been released yet.

It would be good if vbulletin had a plugin that would allow sites like bitcointalk to accept tips.
