Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
Hi OP, the point of your thread is to ask for help with donations from members here.
Sorry, this forum is a discussion forum about cryptocurrency, not a forum or site for fundraising.
My advice is, it's better to develop your talent in art, and make it your main livelihood so you can pay your bills.

and since you have joined this forum, and already have a mac that you say is an old mac, keep growing on this forum, and make a few dollars from participating in the existing bounties. If you diligently follow the bounty, even the bill to pay is very small and maybe you can even buy a new Mac. Maybe it's better than as a newbie directly submitting a donation here.

I have attached a bounty board for you to study more deeply.

I understand how you felt seeing people attacking you or trying to make you looks stupid when you are not.
You need to understand that the Bitcointalk community does not support any form of aid for individual self just like you have narrated it.
I believe anyone that is interested in helping you would have to send you a DM to know the major reasons why you choose to seek for help and how they can help you solve your problem. I hope you don't see everyone comment as offensive please. This has been the standard for long.

Let this be an eye opener for the OP to understand that there's no free lunch anywhere, you'd have to work to earn money and respect, someone said that it's only family, friends and fools that'll just hand money over to you without doing anything for them to earn it. This is a harsh reality of life, so he's young and instead of soliciting for help from total strangers, let him research and use his musical skill to make money and hopefully invest in Bitcoin. This is a great forum where he can ask questions about crypto for free, increase his knowledge and when his money starts rolling in, he'll have enough experience about how the crypto market works.

Hello, my name is Wojtek, I am 24

I am an amateur artist and musician from Poland and I have recently discovered bitcoin through Mr Antonopoulos.
I’d like to join the network, pursue my interest and be able to pay my bills thanks to bitcoin
My Mac is too old, not eligible for updates  so that I could run bitcoin as well as sluggish with music and my finance situation is not going well for various reasons at this particular time.

I ask if you’d like to support me, the cost is around 800 dollars, I’m also open to redirecting a laptop from the shop without sending cash

If you know also other channels for me to get help or you'd like to contact me for more information, please do.

I am attaching qr with a link to my donation page and soundcloud

Thank you for the chance of participating in the community, have a good day

Nice to have you on the forum OP , but your not in the right place to be asking for support, you would have very little progress cause no one would actually trust for your words even if your story is quite touching.

You should have at least stayed on the forum a bit longer and maybe get known for what you do, if I recall I've seen someone write a poem for bitcoin on this forum even if it was temporary thign, that way people would know you to be real. Right now your no different from a scammer trying to beg. Sorry but it's fact.

It takes you nothing to participate in this forum, just having to create an account successfully gives you that opportunity and your good so long as you don’t break the rules.

You’re not going yo find many people clicking an unknown like. Every one out here is being very conscious of phishing attacks and having to click unknown links is a point of infiltration. No one wants that and am not saying that’s what you’re put here for but, the level of skepticism and caution users exercise here gives your link little chance of getting clicks.

Again, you’re most likely not going to get any help here this way. Charity isn’t what is been done here although, on some touching and world widely affected situations, some charity is been organized but, not like this.
You’ll have a better chance on X, yeah X. If you’ve got a good thing going, try your stars there.

Hello, OP!

I think you are just starting your BTC journey and you somehow demand too much without fully understanding the nature of the problem.

Like what others have pointed out, purchasing a MacBook for $800 is relatively expensive when you can run a bitcoin core and node on a desktop or even a Windows laptop that costs way less. Additionally, before you also fully invest such money, you should understand and know these things. It seems to me that you do not fully understand these concepts very well for you to invest that amount of money on it.

I highly suggest that before you pull the trigger, understand the basics and fundamentals first. Learn through reading, watching, and even engaging in the community so you could get a better grasp on what you are dealing with.

Lastly, while it is not prohibited, it somehow implies that you are asking for donations, which is prohibited in this forum. Even if you try to phrase it in a different statement, the essence still implies that you are asking for money.

Best of luck to your journey, OP.

Hi OP, I can see your passion for both music and exploring the world of Bitcoin, and you're seeking support to enhance your tools and delve deeper into these interests. However, asking for financial help from strangers might not be the most effective approach. Exploring alternatives like lightweight wallets or a more budget-friendly PC could be practical. Also, do some more research; platforms now utilize blockchain technology to empower musicians, such as Gala Music and Foundation if I'm not mistaken.

By the way, there has to be some field of connecting artists and cryptocurrency economy and development other than NFT, is it somewhere underground or am I just a new weirdo?
You're not some kind of a weirdo. It's actually a space where have been on the trend on 2021 bull run but now? Not anymore but we don't know since we're heading to a bull run again. If you have seen that field suits you, it's not gonna hurt you to try, right? So, you just have to try and check if you're going to click there. Maybe check projects like Viberate, I've seen some ad of theirs that they're offering something for music professionals and as well as artists so, if you can have some opportunity with them. Get it but I think that it won't be easy for you but at least you've got some leads already.

I dont know what will struck me about this technology in a month because there is so much to it, but as an artistically oriented person I want to delve into it and have gear necessary to do it, with more space than the previous one and some livability.

Thats still weirdly vague and doesnt explain what your goal really is.

I want to connect these two things especially that basic music software from apple is something that I tend to use and I am used to that hardware too.

As a programmer/computer scientist you might look for practicality in its own terms, I know, it might not always work with things like music and art in general from my perspective, but yes maybe I should consider getting a windows laptop for a while.

Your old laptop is obviously still functional, so you can continue to use it, even if you get a new windows (or linux) PC.

By the way, there has to be some field of connecting artists and cryptocurrency economy and development other than NFT, is it somewhere underground or am I just a new weirdo?

Look, NFTs may be a hot garbage right now, and everyone wants to jump on that bandwagon, but all of that has very little to do with Bitcoin.  If you are a skilled artist, and you want to make a living out of it,  you can connect with the "crypto" economy in the same way you connect with the traditional, debt-based monetary economy.

Sorry, but it might be difficult to get a donor for you who you can use to upgrade your laptop or for other expenses. You have to continue your business from your enjoyment of the arts. I don't know how interested you are in crypto, and maybe it could be a good support in the future when your business goes well.
I can't do anything, I wish you luck in your future work and business. If you have a talent for art, then pursue it. I hope it can become your livelihood.

Give all before death
I am not exactly looking just for investment or short term kick of money, I am curious of the technology and development and how it would play out with me pursuing music too. It's a combination of a technical need and a life variable that got me short in time so I decided to reach out to a large community around that.

OP you are welcome to the forum. It seems you are passionate about music and Bitcoin, that's good. But your only impediment to pursuing your goals is money. You need money to invest in Bitcoin and to also finance your music career. One of the ways of raising funds is to develop a skill and seek an offline or online job. Since you have some musical skills you can consider starting an online music class to raise money. Music is a beautiful art, hope you get the support you need and I wish you all the best in your career.

Buddy, 24 is the age of a man; why are you whining and begging? We have had many cases of people coming to the forum talking about their interests—mind you, about their interests! And for this or that activity, they needed financial assistance.
Is this forum like a charity center? Don't you understand that everyone has their own needs and problems, and no one cares about your desires?
Advice: go to work. Work morning, afternoon, and evening. And you will have several MacBooks, which you will pay for with bitcoins. Smiley

Have some music class Woj. Teach your main thing in music through tutorials or consultancy to the young aspiring artists.

I think by that way you'll be able to replace that old mac and be able to earn which you can convert later on into Bitcoin.

It's also going to be interesting if you'd advertise that with an inclusion to your ad in marketplaces by having an "Bitcoin accepted here" logo.

OP, even after your second post it didn't become clear what exactly you're planning to do. OK, your Mac is too old to instal Bitcoincore and run a node. But why exactly you need it. Why lightweight wallets like Electrum isn't an option for you, I'm sure that it would work on your Mac. Yeah, you won't be able to run a node on it, but do you really need it?
And as said above, why exactly you need Mac? PC's with Windows OS is significantly cheaper. And you can buy decent used PC for much less than $800.
And finally, you haven't explained clear enough what you're planning to do next. Because now you just come to forum asking money from random strangers, do you expect that money comes so easy. After all, Bitcointalk isn't crowdfunding platform.

Welcome to the forum. I’m happy to hear you’re following Andreas Antonopoulos, he’s a very good teacher who knows how to make the Bitcoin ecosystem seem easy for a beginner. You’re definitely off to a good start. Now that you’re here, you should get acquainted with the forum rules. Rule 7 states no begging on the forum.

I do not really get it, but are you interested in buying and investing in bitcoins or in people donating for you to get your dream laptop. If you think that's your laptop is a hindrance to you not been able to own Bitcoin, I don't think so because you can actually invest in Bitcoins without even owning a laptop and still be able to keep it safe and benefit from your investment.

I doubt that there will be anybody that would be willing to donate to you from this forum @OP.

Macs are generally more expensive than Windows or Linux based systems. Why not go for one of these if you cannot afford a new Mac laptop? When you earn enough cash, you can always switch back again.

Bitcoin is not magic money, you will have to invest in it in order to profit, or offer your services in exchange for bitcoin that you can then sell.

My Mac is too old, not eligible for updates  so that I could run bitcoin as well as sluggish with music and my finance situation is not going well for various reasons at this particular time.

Why do you even need to "run bitcoin" in order to use it? That just doesn't make any sense at all.
I don't want to sound too harsh, but what you are doing just doesn't make any sense at all, asking total strangers for money, and especially not for such a bad reason.

Welcome to the forum, but Mr Antonopoulos should have explained better to you that by joining bitcoin doesn’t mean you are financially free and can be able to pay your bills at anytime you wish to. In order to achieve that, you must have learnt how to invest and also wait for a long term for your investment to be profitable before you can take them out and settle your bills. It isn’t that hard, but not knowing the basics and how bitcoin functions will make you think it is a place you can come and make money and become rich overnight. You have to learn the process and develop yourself here before you can reap from bitcoin investment.

He must have meant something else by saying he wants to “run bitcoin”, maybe a way of saying I want to be a part of bitcoin enthusiasts and own some for myself. With his statement, you know he isn’t yet familiar with bitcoin and needs to be introduced to it properly so that he can have a rethink of the mindset he came with when he heard about bitcoin and decided to join this forum.

Asking total strangers for money is something I see people do and are okay with it. For some people, there lucky and get someone that will help them without them knowing each other before. Just by their stories, they feel sorry and compelled to help them get what they want. Actually he might get people to help him, but he just didn’t know that this forum is not a place for that. It is necessary he goes through the Beginners and Help board pin threads for guidance.

Thank you all for the replies. Now as the thread has unfolded a bit and I see some of my errors, I have a chance to address more clearly what is going on.
I am not really looking forward to become a miner but I'd be happy to try the thing out.

More important for me is the inability to get bitcoincore installed on Mac OS Yosemite.
I have a MacBook Air 2015 and it had a mojave installed, I started to use terminal as I became involved with bitcoin but something went wrong and i had to reinstall the whole software. I couldnt get back to newer versions of software nonetheless, I am not sure whether that might be an Apple policy for older Macs to push people to get newer ones. I can't get on with music software I've been using too.
