As mentioned previously, i think your best bet is a signature campaign, but you will need to post more to be able to get better payments. Not the fastest way to get 0.8 btc, but its better than nothing !

My point is don't ever discourage every one. Its has a lot psychological effect on a person when you discourage some one.
I guess people are not trying to discourage him. But it's not easy to earn 0.8 bitcoin from nothing basically. They only thing he can do right away is using a faucet for free. Other things require something more, he can work online if he has skills, he can join signature campaign but it requires higher level account and so on...
