And this is why you shouldn't start multiple threads about the same issue in different subboards... the information from OP and advice from those trying to assist gets split up and often duplicated:

Here is the trouble shooting page. Something went wrong when you upgraded. It says to contact support if you are unsuccessful. Maybe they'll send you a new device and that will fix your problem.

https://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-user/troubleshooting.html#windows-os-trezor-wallet-doesnt-recognize-trezor-after-update-to-firmware-140-or-later

Don't follow complicated advice that you don't completely understand.

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling your Trezor Bridge (that your chrome browser runs off of). Maybe it's just the display on your browser.

I think he should try this, but a new device may not solve the problem.
The coins are not physically inside the device, but in the blockchain. and he doesnt know the private or the mnemonic seed.

the best case scenario is that he knows the seed but the keys are in another address which he couldn't find yet. If that happens he could restore it in any wallet.

If the words are incorrect, or if the coins are not in that mnemonic phrase's derived addresses for some reason, a new device will not help.

I don't like the idea of typing secret seed information while on some type of site.

He probably has the right seed words. It's pretty difficult to botch that unless you were careless. A misspelled word would be easily spotted. It obviously didn't upgrade properly. They tell you to upgrade again if your coins are not in the wallet in the trouble shooting guide. Then go to support if that fails to work.

This link in support describes his problem. He may have already tried most of this. Maybe something isn't getting completely removed and he has to delete hidden files on his computer after uninstalling.    https://trezor.io/troubleshooter/#102

Your problem sounds strange.
Are you sure you were using segwit (Address starting with 3.. or bc1..)?

If yes, the most plausible option probably is that you have mistyped one word?
There are quite some words which are almost identical.

You might try out (even if you think your seed is correct) the seedrecovery.py from btcrecover on github to check your seed for misstyped words.

While it may sound odd to you, the chance still exist you have misswrote a word. I guess its worth trying.

If you have problems with the syntax of seedrecovery, feel free to ask.

Hi, i'm having bit of problem here. so last month, i transferred some bitcoins from my binance account to my trezor. The money showed up all good and i closed the trezor app. Didn't check it for week and the next time i plugged in my trezor, it asked for an update, i updated and after the update i was prompted to enter my seed, did everything well, but my balance was 0. I was surprised, i went back to binance to look for the address i sent the coins to and the coins are still there, no movement and i later sent some test amounts to the address. I have been trying to figure this thing out for about 3weeks now and no luck, so i figured i should ask for help. I have tried everything i could think of: using the seed on electrum, connecting the trezor to electrum, used jaxx, exodus, everything possible but i just can't seem to find the address. I used the online tool iancoleman to generate up to a thousand addresses but no luck, i am 101% sure the seed is correct, very sure i sent it to the right address because the coins showed up in trezor before the update. i am willing to offer up to a thousand bucks for who ever helps me figure this out, thanks in advance.

Look, there is also one possibility that was not mentioned by the others.

maybe your bitcoin is in a Change Address.

-Go to iancoleman
-Insert your seed
-At external/internal put 1.

New Addresses and private keys are going to be generated. Try them.

Did you buy Trezor from the official store of from third party?

Here's a page on advanced recovery out of the online manual. Something you're doing is wrong or your device needs to be replaced.

I would contact Trezor support. When converting to Bitcoin Cash some lost Bitcoin temporarily until the problem was fixed. This link shows how to get get the ball rolling.

I don't like hearing this. I just started using a Trezor.  Roll Eyes

I found this update video on youtube. You have to press both buttons on the Trezor at the same time and no seed words are used.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJpLsNMhEx4

If worst comes to worst just wipe the Trezor device clean and use the seed words to restore your device.

trezor already compares the first 4 letters are correct, then it's correct.  i never used a passphrase.

You do have a passphrase using 1 through nine digits don't you? If not just press enter with no passphrase.

wiped it like 4 times and it still the same thing.

To confirm you're using the correct seed, get the ypub (account extended public key)) from Coleman's BIP39 tool, and paste it here: https://www.blockonomics.co/ to check all the transactions on the address.
It should derive a (short) list of addresses and check them for balances.

I have done that, i still can't find the address.
That confirms it then: the seed is a different seed
Either a word or so is different, or you need to enter a BIP 39 Passphrase (when you set up the Trezor, did you insert a 25th word?)

It might be a firewall issue since your bitcoin still on the bitcoin address generated from trezor it's possible that your internet is blocking your trezor to sync.
Could you try to restart your internet and use other computer to test if it's not a firewall issue.

And let me ask if you could still find your bitcoin address from trezor if where you send your bitcoin from binance.
If ever it's still there try to backup the private key and import it to electrum.

Was it a legacy or segwit address?
Are you using the right derivation path?
