The tx you pasted in your original post is invalid, but is it because it was broadcasted to the network and then dropped, or did you never broadcast it at all? (What I mean is that did this link ever work before : https://blockexplorer.com/tx/1839146c39d4844cd871a1aa471fcb6005d41f4213ecf5316ee10c92bc632204 ? If it did then once you import your keys into a new wallet you should see your coins back. If it didn't work before, then your money technically never left your address, and its probably just a multibit issue. Either way using electrum or bitcoin core will fix your problem.)

Running a full node might fix issues like these in the future because you'll always be up to date with the full blockchain, but in my opinion you don't need to have a full/pruned blockchain copy to avoid these issues, just stop using old versions and unsupported wallets anymore, and try to store your private keys somewhere safe (using physical copies like paper wallets, or somewhere that can't be accessed online) just in case you suspect you might run into problems like these again in the future.

Seems that many users have had issues with Multibit classic and Multibit HD wallets. Here is a thread where a similar user had an issue when sending Bitcoin from a Multibit classic wallet.

Id agree with NeuroticFish, do not use it anymore and instead try to import your keys into Electrum.

If you sweep/import into a non HD wallet, you'll need to make sure you have proper backups of the private keys/wallet file until the coins are spent.

Indeed... over 180 transactions, with the bulk of whatever balance remaining taking place in the last month or so. Only about 0.023++ remaining in your wallet given, so there's really not much to recover, unless you spent it all also to wallets you control, though since you're asking how to recover, I guess not.

Should always use a client that's still supported, I'm with Neurotic on recommending Electrum for that.

In 23 Nov 2018 there was not a 2 BTC, it was a 3 BTC transaction from your wallet.
Since then there were multiple other transactions there. Just look on any block explorer (eg https://www.blockchain.com/en/btc/address/1MJQDkcRjToSfPCzwhNKis1vovXd5zrWVG ) and see what you recognize from there, but it looks like you have made quite a number of transactions with Multibit Classis and your wallet and all went thru.

However, Multibit Classic is outdated and should not be used anymore since it has bugs and it's not maintained anymore. You should consider importing your private key into a newer wallet (maybe Electrum), just make sure you do it in a virus-safe environment.
