I have an old jakson file and I was able to access it a while back with my old password. It might be the file you saved is now corrupted. Tehre will be no other means to access your old walet not unless you have a spare copy of the file that is not corrupted pur through your private key if wvwr you have kept it.

Thanks guys for all your support I got my money I saw a video on YT bruteforcing wallet with guess password list and recovered it.  Thanks

If you lose your Jason Key, the only way is Private Key. If you don't have PK, i think you have to make a new one and don't think again your old wallet. Say goodbye for it. RIP

I have my json key and that password I use for my daily banking activity. I never forgets it. but now its not allowing me to import it.

Where do you want to import it ?
I think very simple way to import coin, you just make a new wallet and paste your coin address to old wallet.
And then just click SEND. I think thats enought and very clear.

https://kb.myetherwallet.com/en/migration/importing-v2-json-file/

used some help from this topic and installed gith but now its showing invalid character c at the end of your private key.
Thats strange.

now went to this and there is someone saying paste Keystore in plain text in a text file now I don't understand how to paste it in plain text.

If someone was asking you to paste your Keystore don't answer.
First, understand that the process to restore your wallet through the JSON file maybe risky and I will advise you to use a secure computer. There is a 2-3 process i believe you can use to restore the wallet process.
1) The JSON automatically contains your ETH wallet private keys and I will like to know if the JSON file contains normal number alphabets and numbers?

I didnt understand. I have tried all the things. And someone is not saying to paste its MEW they saying convert it in some V3 keystore.

Dont. What guarantee you they wont steal all the ETH before giving you the key store?
I asked you what the text inside the json file look like but you dont answer. Meanwhile, I will advise you to open the json file with any text editor copy pass the code and decrypt it using this code beautify site.

Disclaimer: I haven't use the site before but according to my knowledge code beautify should do the job.

Hey Guys

Good evening

I have purchased some Ether in 2016 and backed up my ether wallet that is imtoken android in 2018 as wallet.json file now when I am trying to recover that file it showing invalid keystore. please help and drop your Ether address whoever suggesstion I get access to that wallet I will happily donate my 10% of ether to him.

please help me i am not a technical person and in need of money.

A very good offer, but I rarely use Imtoken on my Android let alone back up it in the form of a wallet.json file, but if you still keep that keystore wallet or private wallet, then you can open it via the myetherwallet web I can help you open the wallet again via myetherwallet web, not through the Imtoken application.

Without private key you wont do anything. Consider that you have lost your wallet already. Even if you have a json key, your password have been changed by a hacker and now you receive error messages.

A hint - are you sure that json key and password you are using are from same wallet? You sure you did not have any other wallets or have never replaced your json key file for some reason?

You did something wrong with this wallet. json file. Now only one option is the private key. Actually whatever you offer, in wallet case no one can help you. Once I lost my password of Myetherwallet but I had my UTC file. Unfortunately I didn't save the private key so this wallet couldn't recover. But luckily I don't have enough money now, so I changed my wallet.

In that concern my friend, there could be a possibility that the back up file json was troublesome like corrupted file. That's why it alarmed as invalid keystore, and normally if you've backed up it both keystore and private key must be done. For now, I have no such solution for that matter since erroneous file has no fix because your computer system has a potential problem.

here is someone saying paste keystore in plain text in a text file now I dont understand how to paste it in plain text.
I don't even think that this is possible.
This possible. But the text doesn't show important information that can be used seperately to recover the wallet. If someone can provide help using such a method, he would just create a new wallet file and explain how the recovery should work without asking op to follow instructions using his jason file.

The most strange part here is that op can't open the wallet using the password !! And by checking google, i found no similar case .
There must be something wrong with his credentials (wrong password or corrupted JSON file).

I can't think of any reason why it's working like that. Because if it's correct, there will be no problem at all accessing his JSON file.

If we see on the "MyEtherWallet" how the JSON File Access work.

Are you sure type the right answer, you can check it on MEW and accessing using JSON File required a password after you upload the file. Could be the JSON File was right but you wrong enter the password for JSON File. Can we know from where you created the JSON File?

It's very strange to see that your file is saying invalid if that's the wallet that you have used way back 2016. Maybe that JSON file you've got is corrupted and that's the reason why it triggers to invalidity.

please help me i am not a technical person and in need of money.
Have never experienced anything like you have.

However, I saw the same thing happened here, try to look at the topic below.

Topic: Ethereum Wallet Restore

Topic:[GUIDE] How to import your private-key from another wallet to MEW/MetaMask

Security

Just some small hints about security. As mentioned the private-key and recovery phrase aren’t very secure. I’ve already written two guides about keeping your private-key safe and how to create a keystore-file.

How to create a keystore-file using your private-key/recovery phrase: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.30996799
General security and keeping your private-key safe: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.30874759

So let’s begin with the actual guide.

And don't forget to ask them for help with the problems you are facing right now, who knows they can help you in the problems you are currently facing.

Good luck.

I have password that i used to send ether I used that password and that wallet.json file to restore my wallet and its showing invalid used every ether wallet that exist,

are you sure you are not missing something when you copy it, its strange why you can't open it in other wallet.

The only thing you just need to do is to import it and open it with password that you use.
