Same here! How many people have taken him up on his offer in lending 22 BTC as the tread title clearly shows?

What some people are talking about is that in English when you get money from Joe (the loan is from Joe to you) then you say "I borrowed money from Joe"  but if you give money to Joe (the loan is from you to Joe) you say "I lent money to Joe".

In other words, in English you borrow money from someone but you lend money to someone.

Many people who are not native English speakers make this mistake.

So the title of your thead should be changed to:  "I would like to borrow 22BTC, will pay back ASAP"
fixed for a better grammar

Not that I want to rag on the disabled, but in general I would say that giving $200 to a schizophrenic that doesn't really seem to understand his business plan is probably a poor investment.

Sorry, this thread is turning into (and is part of) a meta discussion about loan requests.

In one group, there are the unsuspecting people that come along with genuine requests, a second group that understand this section, and a third group of people simply trying to get coins by deceit.

On the other side, there are people who like to taunt and bait groups one and three, some who are actually here to help and do lending business, and a few others somewhere between.

I spend a lot of time in the lending section as I have a lot of business here.  For possibly foolish reasons, I'm trying to clean it up so it is not so intimidating for new people, and still weed out the scammers.  It's partly self interest and partly in the interest of the bitcoin community. No one appointed me into this role, and I'm not expecting much benefit from it, but it is a gradual process.

hello my name is Darul
please lend me 22BTC
my purpose is to buy a new hardware for mining
currently my hasrate is 200Mhashes/s
i would like to go for 3GHashes/s
there is a cheap hardware offer that kind of rate

the hardware called jalapeno
this is quite important
i will pay you by my monthly allowance which is 30 usd per month

you can purchase if agreed
the hardware is yours but in my hand until i made full payment
dont worry there will be other ways to repay
i will look for offline job (example 1)

the detailed about hardware cab be found at
www.butterflylabs.com/products

it wont be released for a while so you have time to save, also by the time you receive it, the difficulty will be so high that it would be just like having 300mh
i saw the other member topics the want to upgrade their mining rig
why cannot for me?
the difficulty will increase slowly and based on pool
am i right?
but why people lend to members when they say want to upgrade rig??
if can i want that rig
see
that was new post

And then, wait for it....

I have a few questions for you, in order to determine if I want to make the loan:

1) How old are you?
2) What is the source of your $30 per month allowance?
3) Is English your native language?
4) Where are you located?
5) Please describe your current mining rig.
6) What are your electricity costs?
7) You said you had other ways to pay (other than your allowance I assume).  What is your current job if any?  Have you ever held a job?  If so, doing what?

One more:  Cool How long have you know about Bitcoins?

i am ready to tell you a little bit about myself
i am 24 years old
i live in malaysia so my first language is bahasa malaysia and english would be second
i am new so my current mining rig is MSI HD 6790 (single)
i am not sure about my electricity costs but this month total cost is rm82.00/usd25.6
i am ready to do offline work like KFC, ice cream factory worker etc
i know about bitcoin about 4 months

i am ready to submit my document like identity card, driving license etc..
and i am willing to pay

Spot the sudden improvement in his english grammar ? Sudden proper use of tenses with just one or two slipups ?

This convinced me that he is in fact initially trying to portray himself as a non-english speaker of some sort.

Sadly if he is legit he came to the wrong forum based on first impressions.

I try not to be a troll with grammar, but I can't trust people that their writing style reminds me of every 419 scam I get in the mail. I just can't sleep nicely knowing my money is in the hands of someone suspicious. However, I don't really care about their writing/being new if they can provide enough evidence they'll pay back the loan. This guy does not, for me, at least right now. I don't care about the common mistakes, like "alot", or other things, unless I can't understand their point clearly.

Thank you for your comment.  The traits people use for honest versus less than honest requests is one of the things we all look out for.  I have many things that annoy me grammatically, but that's not my role to fix those (their/there is #1 on the list).

As always, providing good answers and information to valid questions remains the #1 priority, and anyone requesting a loan (or donation) should expect that scrutiny.

Two points:

1: For the trolls, the guy is not 100% with his English and there are enough people visiting this forum that mix lend and borrow that it is obvious a deficiency in education programmes across the world.   Clarification can be done nicely.
Even if this is not a legitimate request, and the lending sub-forum can provide good entertainment, I would appreciate if you could resist jumping up and down on new people quite so hard.  Get inventive.  This is not directed simply at this thread but a little more widely.

2: For the OP: The points made above about the unreleased BFL SC range are valid.  The equipment might be available this year, and there are already many that have jumped on the "give BFL free money" bandwagon.  You would be better to obtain lower cost financing outside of the forum because rates here are typically very high (similar percentages, but monthly not annually), or at least research the likely delivery times once the equipment is actually available.
