You can try using the search feature with the choice of characters that are always repeated "or agree to certain characters." As follows:

 - Go to  >> MY MESSAGES >> Search Messages
 - Enter a character & account username.
 - Make sure to mark all fields.
Unfortunately, it will show you like [From: xx , To: you.] I do not know if it possible with the inbox.

Thanks. Strange that there isn't such a feature.
Same here.  Cheesy
I'm not writing PMs very frequently (up to 2-5 per day with 2-3 different users) and it's already confusing when I want to search PMs older than 7 days. So I agree with you that improvements would be helpful and I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels uncomfortable with current structure. (I brought up the topic a few weeks ago like Pmalek mentioned).

Hopefully, we will see the new forum software very soon. Until then I avoid sending too much PMs  Tongue

There has been a suggestion recently to change the way the forum displays PMs here > https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/suggestion-pm-layout-is-a-bit-messy-5116208
But I don't think anything will change, especially now when testing has begun on the new forum software.

Well thanks for the update. At least there is a way to sort through the mail through labelling like what someone mentioned above.

Yes, most of the people are taking efforts in just changing the way the forum looks totally, it is rather better than the current version and with extra features. Also the ability to sort the message of a signal person which would solve the problem listed in the OP.

Quoting the screenshots here:

You can label messages in your inbox, so you could label each message with the username of the sender

Well, you can sort by sender username, so I didn't find a good use of those labels yet. But maybe it's a matter of taste too.

You can label messages in your inbox, so you could label each message with the username of the sender, and then sort by that label to only see messages from that person. Unfortunately the label function isn't available for your outbox.

Other than that, you can only quote every message as suggested above.

Thanks. Strange that there isn't such a feature.

From my knowledge the only option you have is to use "quote" instead of "reply" and hope that the ones you discuss with use the same feature.
This way, although they can get big, the messages will stay grouped in a thread-like style.

Is there a way to see a continuous thread of conversations with a single party?

Right now the inbox is separated from outbox. When discussing with several different parties, it's hard to follow what's going on. Think am not using the function correctly so wanted to check.

Basically it looks like this.

When I click Inbox
Message from ABC
Message from EFG
Message from ABC

When I click Outbox
Message to EFG
Message from EFG
Message from ABC

Thank you.
