I prefer Zakir over Muhammed when mentioning me!
If I can say also my opinion, I do not think it is the real amacar (the real person who created that account). The [HERO] tag is a strong suggestion to us, why an Hero member should have written also that tag Roll Eyes? Also the post edited is another 'red warning', I suggest to wait a reply from 'him' or who is managing this account (it could also have been sold to someone else - but also the hacked account is a good possibility but amacar does not seem a newbie and he knows how to protect 'his account').

I agree with bolded part. This tells me the account is sold.

"[HERO]" can be written so that people will be interested to lend him. The post editing is not the only one which triggers the alarm but this too

-snip-
2) User claimed his wallet containing an address was lost when it reality the address wasn't even his.

Disk failure isn't unlikely, especially with older drives and operating systems. But it could very well be an excuse, there's no proper way to prove that this is true. I'll have to admit though, Vod's rating on you is rather aggressive, giving the same rating to a lower ranked member would have been more reasonable, aside of that your password wasn't changed for a month's time (else it would be showing on your profile).

And according to that, I pose the following question to Vod:

Would a post from his twitter account verifying that he still owns it serve as appropriate proof that the account wasn't hacked?

It would provide proof that the account isn't hacked - but it could still be sold, which would mean a fraudulent purchase of trust...

The reason I left the negative feedback was for two reasons:

1) User knowingly edited an old message to appear he owned it
2) User claimed his wallet containing an address was lost when it reality the address wasn't even his.

Now #2 I could pass off as ignorant, but #1 is a clear sign of an attempted scam.   Undecided

If he can prove he is the original owner of the account, I will have no problem removing the negative trust.  But by viewing his PMs (which are completely different in language and grammar than his past posts), I seriously doubt it is the same person.

Do you think that the (supposedly) bought account came along wit the twitter one? Sounds unlikely to me, not impossible though.

I think so, see my speculation above. The seller probably was in short of money, otherwise selling a green account like this which was in signature campaigns didn't make much sense. He probably sold whatever he could.

There were two password changes on 23 and 28 April. There is a gap in posting from 21 to 29 April so it looks like the account was sold through an escrow which for some reason took 5 days. The post style changed to one of poor English.

If it was hacked, we would've seen some complaint by now. It is clearly a bought account and it wouldn't have come cheap considering the trust rating. Makes it even more surprising that such a huge risk was taken for a small profit.

The recent reset may mean that the loan has been given and the account transferred. This thread was started at 7:43am, the edit was done at 9:57am and the password reset at 11:05am. In that case someone bought an Hero account without any ownership proof for 0.8 BTC.

Your speculation above leaves out the piece about the twitter account. I think that this is taken a bit too far by speculating about what the supposed seller had in mind when selling. But the times do seem to match what you say according to the seclog so yeah, Vod's suspiciousness is justified to a great extent. It's up to him to decide about the twitter account since he's the one that ahs left the rating.

He edited an old post today trying to use it claim the loan. How do you explain that? At the minimum it shows a lack of understanding of this forum, which doesn't fit with someone of 500+ activity, 1.3k+ posts.

Its clearly a bought account. He thought that he could make a quick profit by taking a loan based on the rating.

With that said, the account still seems to have a similar style of posting with the one it had in the early days of its creation. Furthermore, the twitter account posted in a message here earlier was also posted in unedited posts from 2014.

And according to that, I pose the following question to Vod:

Would a post from his twitter account verifying that he still owns it serve as appropriate proof that the account wasn't hacked?

I'll attach relevant quotes below.

Following tweet was retweeted by his twitter account on Summer 2014:

As asked to do so in this post:

Retweeted as amacar, you don't need to tip me.

This twitter's account's posting history seems to me lining up with the bitcointalk one nicely. Even if the most valuable of the two, the bitcointalk one was hacked, most likely that the twitter one wouldn't come with it ( Roll Eyes ).

That's why I'm thinking that if he signed a message through his twitter (instead of a BTC address since he claims that he lost his drive) would be good enough to prove ownership of the account.

He edited an old post today trying to use it claim the loan. Besides being dishonest, it shows a lack of understanding of this forum, which doesn't fit with someone of 500+ activity, 1.3k+ posts.

I lost that address! WTF? This is true! Why disk failure is so unlikely for you VOD?Huh Thank you for negative! What a....

Be careful when lying.

He can't sign from that address regardless. If you look at the OP from that thread you will see that it belongs to Rollin as the terms of that giveaway is that you post your Rollin deposit address.

As mentioned above, it is probably a sold account. Or it could have been used as collateral for a loan and the lender deleted the posts after the borrower defaulted.

Agreed.
If ownership is proven by signing a message with an address posted more than 6 months back (in an unedited post), I will do this loan.

Be careful while lending. I asked him to prove ownership from an old address, and he showed me one which was edited today 2 minutes before the PM I received.

OP is now PMing me, saying he is sorry for editing the post, and promising he will not do it again.

I believe he will not do it again - you only need the scam to work once, right?   Undecided

Very large red flag!  Good catch!

I've left the OP negative trust until we can figure out if his account has been hacked.

I'd also like to know why he edited his old post with a new bitcoin address.   Undecided
offcourse he edited for the loan and foll the lender when they asked for signed message
it reminds me recent scam attempt by a hero member that was happened few days ago
buy accounts at lower price and take a big loan, simple

when you check his trust page
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=190344

you see this
This user changed his/her password recently.

also if you check security logs then you will find password of this account was changed 2 times
possibly its an hacked account or sold if he doesn't prove ownership
