Yeah this is what I have been noticing lately. And I believe he is not the only one who is doing the “hidden” shilling. I would rather put this discussion in the Reputation section, as I don’t see this as “For Beginners”. If he is posting naturally, then that won’t be a problem. He could have created a signature design with that product instead.

I've read suggestions to report to moderator but on what specific grounds? I mean what would be the description?

I went through his entire post history yesterday and reported all posts in Bitcoin Discussion, some posts were deleted and some threads were moved to Altcoins boards. Since he is also more than obviously shilling some altcoins in Bitcoin Discussion reports went in the direction that these are posts that do not belong to that board because they have nothing to do with Bitcoin, and at the same time it is about shilling certain coins which is clearly visible from the posting history.

Anything related to altcoins in any way and located outside of altcoins boards simply report as "Not related to Bitcoin discussion/Please move to the appropriate board or delete"

It is interesting that majority assume that they are bought by the team; although that is a good possibility but in my experience most shills like this are simply shitcoin bagholders who think they can get their money back if they shill it enough and some people are fooled into buying that shitcoin so that they could dump it.
This is not limited to these tiny unknown shitcoins either, the biggest shitcoins on top of the market-cap have the biggest shill (aka bagholder) army.
I have read cases of paid bumping services so I also thought of the possibility of a paid shill service [if not bought]. It is less likely that a bagholder would create multiple accounts here from 2018 or earlier just to shill their bags. Twitter is where they mostly do that with all their cashtags....but someone is doing that recently [profile shared by Lucius].

....I just noticed one more shill - see his post history -> https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/david-graced20-2836711
I remember this user and I even called him out the other day. He had the audacity to lie that he's not a shill even though you could clearly see from his post history that he is. I can't see my own comment anymore so it means his topic was trashed.

..........

Definitely this is the case. However those accounts with no reputation on shilling or let say have good social accounts will not have some tractions on their moves like this one.

But witnessing how influencers make their bags fly is totally amazing damn those guys. Can easily increase their holding's value so easy.

Probably that's the new way of promoting a project here, these shill are using newbie accounts mostly, so it doesn't matter if they lose the account as they can make a new one.
It always depend on the account reputation. You think if a high ranked and reputable member posted something on new alts he/she will not get noticed? Of course its varied. If its a high rank reputable then its a different story.

Reporting it is the best thing to do, and we should also be aware about what we are investing so we will not be influence by these shills.

It is likely that you are not aware that such shills have existed for a very long time. And this topic is not the only one of its kind. There is a separate topic in the "Reputation" section where such accounts "successfully" acquire the red color of trust.

Oh, was just reading this, which coin will be better on the rise, bitcoin or minor coin? read it for yourself. I remember @hatshepsut93 post Don't get tricked by hidden spam on this forum.

So it's pretty obvious that Pando project has hired a lot of shills and probably we can track them all down.

Paid shills are annoying as hell and something should be done with them but i am worried that this situation just goes worse as the altseason heats up. They aren't a new thing and pretty much an open secret that some of the teams pay for "guerrilla advertising" like that.

And it doesn't end in here. They are using Reddit, youtube, rating sites, telegram channes facebook, twitter... They keep spamming in pretty much everywhere they are seen.

What I noticied is that most of those shilling accounts were created back in 2018 and didn't post since then. They remained dormant for years before waking up and start spamming/shilling for an unknown project.
They are , definitely, owned by a shilling service so what they are doing is unethical, to say the least.
What's funny is that they are just wasting their money and efforts on a marketing strategy that doesn't work anymore and may even hurt their business and gain them a bad reputation.

It’s common here when market is having some good movement most of the times. Most of the times, project owner hired this shills. I remember I have been offered by a project to shill for themselves and it was of course a big no from my end.
And you can report the post as this post is very low quality and mod will delete it I think.

You don't have to be a genius to see the pattern now. The account used in posting was probably bought by the people behind this token.
Not necessary bought I think. Maybe we can speculate that the team hire or they are the one whom doing this subtle shill cause the possibility is high.

Not familiar with this token. Cause never heard it on defi degen trades which I am particularly active with.

but it's not particularly effective either, because anyone who thinks a little with their head knows what kind of project it is when they have to use such methods to advertise.
Probably not effective here on forum. Cause there are some moderators here for spammers and people whom usually considered projects like this as auto scam. But for degen space(I've noticed) , this kind of project is worth a gem especially if influencers are talikg about it on telegram and on Twitter regardless of the shit details about it.

They are paid spammers or they are one of the developers of that shitcoin, it's a wrong way to promote a project, but sometimes it works, the thread or the post should be reported and those creating these kind of threads or posts should be tagged, if he wants to promote a shitcoin then use their signature not spam the forum.

One particular shilling that takes place from time to time on my local board (and other boards too) is that whereby, the topic OP compares their shilled exchange against other well-known exchanges, creating a lengthy topic on the matter. For example, they may compare security features (at a basic level), normally in a positive tone, between their shilled exchange, Binance and Coinbase. The idea behind is to create a positive placement by association to well known-exchanges. The do this from at least three different accounts, spread-out over time.

I normally report these posts, and reference their existing service thread as the place they should be performing these comparisons (deceiving as they may be). Their posting history denote the pattern, so it’s a non-brainer really.

In the past few days I have reported a few posts/threads that are shill this coin or whatever it is, mostly in Bitcoin Discussion board. It's not a new method, but it's not particularly effective either, because anyone who thinks a little with their head knows what kind of project it is when they have to use such methods to advertise.

I don't know how moderators react to shilling in Altcoins boards, but if you see such posts in other parts of the forum just report them as posted in the inappropriate board/shilling/off-topic - they will be deleted or moved to Altcoins board.

I just noticed one more shill - see his post history -> https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/david-graced20-2836711

The pando project team prolly wants to allure users to their project, cause when shills like this make quite a number of posts mentioning the project/coin, it'll definitely pique some people's interest to browse more/research about it and some newbies could fall for it that way, I don't even dig deep to look at projects or coins that are being shilled on the forum, they'll prolly be pump and dump or scam projects. The thing is I don't think mods delete such posts, nonetheless newbies should not consider shilled projects an option, and try not to research about it completely.

This forum, and especially the altcoin board, has always been full of shills. You'd be crazy to take any investment advises about "good projects" here, especially from some random newbies. Troll boxes, telegram channels, twitter and so on should never be used as a primary source for investing research, at best they are only good for getting some hot news and rumors, but even then there's a high chance of getting some disinformation.

Yep ,it’s definitely annoying !
Like other members have said - report to moderator , but also ask the mod to check their post history - the mods can only do their work if they’re given as much information as possible  Smiley

I've seen too lately a lot of newbish tasteless shilling for that pando-whatever coin.
I don't track the user(s) doing this since I am so used with people shilling this or that I just go on.

I doubt that it's bought account though. Although it's from 2018, the account is still a newbie with low post count, hence no credibility and not much of use (I mean, a completely new account is just as good for the job).

Edit: typo (actually missing word)

If you see someone constantly shilling for a project in the every thread/post they are making then don't hesitate to hit "Report to Moderator" button.

Its just a newbie account so don't think it was bought by the team but I guess the team hired someone to shill of their project with the various newbie and low ranked accounts.

I'm a bit frustrated reading posts that looks interesting at first that turns into a complete shill.

Example,
Will Grayscale continue to increase its investment?

I don't know because Bitcoin is going down today.
They say we've increased our investment, but if you look at the drop again today,

Anyway, I'm looking at the Pando project.

bitcoin is dancing today..

When will it stabilize?

Bitcoin should move sideways

I think other cryptocurrencies could go up a bit...

I'm interested in a pando recently listed on bittrex. Does anyone know?

Will Polka Dot catch up with Ripple?

Polkadot is showing a tremendous uptrend and Ripple is withdrawn from Kraken.

It's amazing how new projects are rising rapidly

PANDO, recently listed on bittrex, is also listed on the MXC exchange and additionally listed on bittrex, so the price seems to continue to rise.

You don't have to be a genius to see the pattern now. The account used in posting was probably bought by the people behind this token. It's not illegal but I still find it unethical. Newbies looking to invest in projects, please be cautious on buying tokens with this marketing strategy.
