4GH/s for almost 8 grand? At current price and difficulty, it'd take you 16 months to pay it back!

yes the rush service,  its extremely expensive theres no doubt about it, a couple of customers have requested a rush service like this because it is guaranteed in 3-5 days.

The 48 hour assembly costs at the manufacturer are astronomical as well as the price for them to supply the FPGA chips.

This is something for a customer who does not care about the price and just wants to get the units right away.

edit: if someone wanted the rush service and wanted to supply their own FPGA chips, I could knock the price down about $4300.00

I have revised the price in the case of someone who may want to supply their own FPGA chips:

Price: $7924.95
Price if customer provides FPGA chips: $3624.95
(shipping count-down does not start until FPGA chips have been received)

People have been requesting a RUSH service for the ModMiner quad and I have worked out an arrangement with my assembly house that will allow people who dont mind spending extra money to get their units in 3-5 days guaranteed, please understand I am not just asking for extra money to put you in the front of the line. It does not work like that, in fact none of the added price goes to me at all I am not making any additional profit from these orders- RUSH orders get their own production run separate from my regular and sanely priced production runs. The increased price goes entirely to the assembly house for their 48 hour rush service and for them to supply the parts which is more expensive but allows this kind of lead time to happen.

The units are actually built in 48 hours, and this is guaranteed to me from the assembly house so I am offering a full refund + a free ModMiner Quad in my guarantee that your five units will be shipped in 3-5 business days from the date of your order.

You can order from this link below and I encourage you to read all the information about this service in our post or on our website

What is it?

We have a special arrangement with our assembly house to provide orders of at least 5 ModMiner quads to customers who are willing to pay extra for the RUSH service.

Why so much money?

The increase in price does not increase my profits at all, the increase in price all goes to the assembly house for parts and labor of this rush service.

Our assembly house offers a 48 hour assembly service which is quite a bit more expensive than the service I use for my typical production runs and they also provide all the parts for the build which although is more expensive it enables a much faster lead time.

How does it work?

As soon as your order is placed and payment is confirmed, your order starts at the assembly house for a gauranteed 48 hour build.

On the 2nd or 3rd day the units are shipped to me where I complete the process and get them ready for the customer, On the 3rd or 4th days your 5 units are shipped to you via express mail which for US customers is overnight.

What happens if its late?

This is a guaranteed service, if your units are not shipped to you in 3-5 business days you are entitled to a FULL REFUND and a FREE ModMiner Quad !

FWIW: I ordered 4 Mmod miner quads on June 30th and received them on July 1st. It was a little past the 4 week mark but they did arrive here, the modminers are working well and the tech support has been really helpful as well. I wouldent worry about not receiving what you ordered it will get there it just takes a little time

Lol, I think you meant to say May 30th, but thanks for the feedback anyways!

Also just to note there are many people who will be receiving orders next week after only waiting 2 weeks. It has taken me some time to get caught up but things are starting to move a lot faster now that I have a new domestic supplier of the FPGA chips that can supply the XC6SLX150-3FGG484C chips that I need at a price point that works for me. Typically lead times on FPGA orders from China can take up to 6 weeks and due to numerous reasons they were only trickling in, in very small quantities - I would order 200 chips and I would get 40 here 70 a week later etc etc, now my new supplier is based in the USA and does overnight shipping. I currently bought out all the stock they had but they are getting stock filled back up next week so all is good Smiley

I encourage anyone who is thinking about ordering to read our TOS and also if you purchase through Google Checkout read our TOS for Google Checkout.

Unless you request a refund within a couple of days of ordering or your order is small enough it's very difficult to make a large refund because the money is already spent on ordering parts.

Of course if for some reason I cannot deliver your order you would be refunded.

Post edited. The MMQ gang and i have worked out a plan for my delayed units.

On a side note, Tom has been very responsive to my emails and tech help. Even with the delays they are still much better than BFL could aspire to be.

Hi

Because of issues with other currencies and my credit card processors, I have removed the ability to change the currency, I would google for a currency calculator to find out how much it is.

yes I charge a flat rate of $30 shipping to everyone, sometimes it cost me less sometimes it cost me more but it all evens out in the end Smiley

For Germany I use DHL International express - its much better than USPS in your country.

Thanks

I'm planing to buy one Mod miner for my cluster Smiley
I registered on your website and I'm wondering where I can see euro prices?

Is the shipping charger for Germany really 30€?

You will need 10watts of available power for each FPGA chip or as you put it "daughter card"

a full ModMiner Quad uses 40watts.

We sell Dynex 400watt PSU's on our website for $30

this has molex connections for 5 units which it will easily power but if you wanted to modify it and add more molex connections to some of the other rails you could get away with 9-10 ModMiner Quads per PSU.

To quote the website:
Quote
It features up to 4 Spartan-6 LX150 FPGA Chips that are Capable of doing up to 210Mhash each at 10 watts

For a total Unit Speed & Efficiency of 800+mhash @ only 40 watts

12V * 2A = 24 Watts

You'd might be fine with 2 cards, but you're nowhere near the complete quad

It really depends on the quantity you order, most people who order right now will receive the unit within 2-4 weeks, I have a production run ending at the end of next week and that will knock out a lot of the people who have been waiting.

As far as the tricone Bitstream it is something that we are currently working on, I hope to meet with Eldentyrell next week to take it to the next level.

Thanks for your interest in the ModMiner Quad and if you have futher questions please feel free to email me at [email protected]

Tom

Sounds good! Just made an order for one Quad. I was curious. How much power does the board need for all 4 daughter cards?  I have a wall wart that outputs power to a molex connector 12V @ 2A and 5V @ 2A. Would a power supply with these specs be enough? It would just be smaller than using the ATX PSU I have set aside for it.

Hey Tom, What's your current approximate wait time from order to shipping? Also, what's the status of the firmware supporting the 1gh/s (Tricone) bitstream?

I'm looking forward to ordering a quad when I return from a business trip, looks like a fantastic product!

My board has been in UK customs now for eight days  Angry  When there supposed to deliver it within 48hrs of it landing in the UK.  I have emailed Royal Mail with the tracking number to find out what's going on.  Last time the board arrived much quicker.

It's probably at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GCHQ headquarters in Cheltenham right now, where they marvel at its SHA-bruteforcing ability and ponder whether it should be deemed "munitions" according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITAR...

Sorry to hear that Matt,

The last package I sent to U.K. cleared customs in one day, however that package was to London.

If there is anything I can do to help let me know, they probably just picked it as a package to open and inspect which they do at random and have not gotten around to processing it yet.

Thanks
Tom

FYI on the shipping

which the exception of a couple of special cases, I have shipped everything from May and June, and some July orders have already shipped, this next production run is the biggest I have done yet and should knock out a lot of these orders, the vast majority of customers get their shipments within that 2-4 week window.

From now on if anyone wants to order a quantity of units they will get their own special assembly run at the assembly house - separate from other customers who order just one or two units, this will greatly speed things up for both types of customers who order quantity and also for that customer who just ordered 1 or 2 units.

Also for anyone that is in a super rush and does not mind spending extra money, I can offer express service through my assembly house
it is a rush 48 hour build for a minimum of 5 units, your units are guaranteed to be delivered within 3-5 days
The reason the price is so high because instead of me sourcing the parts from china, the assembly house provides the parts and does the build themselves, and their 48 hour run is not cheap.

The cost for 5 units express service is 7900.00 but you are guaranteed to have them 3-5 days from your order and this price also includes express overnight shipping.

anyone who is seriously interested in this should email [email protected]
