A lot of people here don't use the forum enough to warrant them producing a uniquely identifiable avatar. There is only a relatively small community of highly active individuals here on Bitcointalk, probably around 1,000 or so, the rest are casuals or bounty spammers.

I use my avatar to help me find my posts in threads..
If I'm running an avatar I like it to be a bold color or something that stands out while I am scrolling fast don a page so I can see it and stop easily..

It's much harder to fly through a thread looking for my last post, so I know where to start reading again, if I have a good avatar to watch for..

If I have to search multiple pages I break out the big gun - Ctrl+F my username, like the cryptsy scam thread I like to catch up on every once in a while.. Or Ctrl+F my last posts for "cryptsy"...

Other forums have nice features that somehow bump you right to the last post in a topic that you have read, like magic.. They also alert you of quotes and replies..

A bit off topic but that is what I think of when pondering the reasoning behind my avatar use..

I wouldn't say I have ever had a "recognizable as eddie13" avatar like Vod and Phineas Gage..
Probably should put some effort into one so I can be one of the cool kids but I may be lazy..

I want to use avatar but the problem is, I can't pick what avatar would I use.
Why don’t you use one of your selfies? I found a cute one:

I searched another design of their mouse and I found one and I used it as an avatar now Cheesy. Thanks for reminding me  Wink

I think he should be offended and tryninja permabanned for posting such an offensive image and mixing you up with your relatives @logitech. Grin

Question to full member and up that don't use avatars. Why not use an avatar to make yourself more recognizable?
I get your point dude but you'v3 got a wrong perception somehow. The chance of getting popular doesn't mainly depend on your avatar. Even how cool or intriguing the avatar you have, it will be worthless if you will not possess good traits as a member. According to your examples, Jet Cash, Vod and The Pharmacist, they became popular here because of being active, being a good quality poster and because of their contribution here in the forum and not mainly because of their avatars. Probably your mind just trick you to think that those avatars are the key for popularity where in the first place they're not. It is just a coincidence that their avatars also become significant due as their popularity increases.

My reason why I don't wear the avatar I wanted is because of the signature campaigns I'm joining in. And besides this matter is not a big deal for me Grin.

It makes people more recognisable if they have a unique avatar. But sometimes that still gets missed and if loads of people have the same avatar it's much harder to differentiate them and it's just in the way when they post...

Most high-ranking users have been here for some time and luckily for them, or they do not need to participate in signing campaigns, or they do not want to participate.
One important thing is that some signature campaigns require the signature and not the avatar also for this reason, many who have the signature don't use avatars or uses personal avatars!

When you join a signature campaign, you are mandated in most cases to wear avatar. But the examples you gave may not be interested in such signature campaign. That could be the reason.

There are some great images of cartoon computer mice.

I'm just wonder'n how should draw theymos, welsh and mprep Grin
As well as Satoshi Cheesy
I don't have the idea on how would I describe them in the best common factor, Or should I just draw them on how they post?
(Just helping out and giving some unique avatar that you might use Cheesy )

I removed my Avatar because of the length of the post. If I type a line or two, there will be lots of blank spaces.
Also, marketing will not bring you many requests unless there are a large number of people wearing the same Avatar "as happens in campaigns."
Perhaps the rest of the members have the same reasons.

Anyhow, I just wanted share these avatars in case someone needs it. Free for personal use only, under Creative Commons licence  Wink

Reason : I want to be uniquely recognized

Edited ✅  I have search this one, it looks cute.
I don't want to disappoint you, but I saw more guys on Bitcointalk using this picture as avatar, so you won't be unique.

I just have to use it in a more passionate way than others may.

Then The Pharmacist is satan worshipper? Interesting.  Grin

Very few Satanists actually worship or even believe in Satan, especially not LaVeyan Satanists, which is who the Sigil of Baphomet represents.

That's interesting! No evil one would be wanted a better forum than him. He works with no bad intentions.

That's good for me. No religion signs or physical images can change that.

Why not use high-end gaming mouse from logitech as your avatar? They made a great looking mouse in my opinion, and hey, they have RGB too !

The Pharmacist = Black Star

Not to be pedantic, but it's actually the Baphomet Pentagram/Sabbatic Goat/Sigil of Baphomet.

Actually it's up to the user whether they want to wear an avatar or not. We can't force them to use one and some members doesn't want to be recognised. But of course, luckily other members are already recognised by their avatar.
I am so ugly that it will freeze your browser....
Are you talking about your face in real life? If yes, well its not really necessary to put your face as your avatar just to be recognised. Don't worry, I'm ugly as well  Cheesy

It's true that's easier to recognize members when they have unique avatar (and not commercial advertisement in place of avatar).
Why I'm not using avatar? Because it's not neccessary for me and it wouldn't check anything. And it's too difficult to pick one avatar for my profile. So, I keep things simple. I also don't have avatars on other, not Bitcoin related forums.

Why not use an avatar to make yourself more recognizable?

Not in my case. I hardly recognize an avatar unless I pay attention to it. It's the posts that I am reading anyway.

btw, If you need an avatar, you can get one for free from me. Just send me a pm.  Cheesy

EDIT:

Reason : I want to be uniquely recognized

Sadly not unique.
Found these users wearing the same avatar and one of them is a newbie.  Cheesy
