Maybe they asked KYC because 177 LTC is a big amount (cosidering it's equivalent $ value). You're actually lucky to receive a reply from them in a short period of time because IIRC, in the past, several users waited for month(s) for that first reply.

For now, you need to wait. Yes easier said than done, but you have no choice. I don't recommend flooding HitBTC with tickets, because it might cause more delay in your request.

Tbh, I didn't have any problem with HitBTC before, but I left considering all the complaints from other users. I thought that I shouldn't wait for that to happen to me as well.

Oh my God! Jesus is Lord! He answered my prayer so quickly. I cannot believe it. They verified and unfroze my account and I just put in a withdrawal and it went through!
Congrats! It seems that HitBTC already improved their service, I hope it would be the same for every case.

They improve their service but still many people were scammed...

I don't think this is the case with everyone. I've been on their Telegram and there are still users waiting for weeks or even months! I see divine intervention in my case but I know unbelievers don't believe in prayers. To each their own! Having said that, I'm generally reluctant to use exchanges that demand KYC unless I wanna do fiat withdrawals which really directly into my bank account is itself a form of KYC. But with crypto-to-crypto trading, I cannot see the need for it and I can't wait for a solution where we can trade without having to trust a middle-man. Biggest problem in the crypto space imho... Atomic swaps still have a lot of room to grow and develop imo and haven't been fully tested yet but could be the solution!

As I know, you do not actually need KYC, I transferred a few coins three weeks ago and asked extra support for KYC, they said no and I easily transferred everything, it took about 5-10 minutes, whole vollumen was about $300. In any case, I wish you as soon as possible to solve your problem.

I also believe that crypto-to-crypto trading does not require KYC by AML laws. That is what I have told them but I want my coins asap so I did the KYC too and I'm still waiting and my coins are still stuck in the limbo. This is the last reply I have received from them in which I responded with asking them to point me to which AML law requires KYC for crypto-to-crypto trading:

Dear trader,

Thank you for provided information!

We're aiming to resolve this case for you as quickly as possible and restore full functionality of your account. But it takes time to process and verify information which you're providing us with.

Manual KYC/AML check requires a lot of verification process, and your assistance is greatly appreciated.

We'll let you know about the results as soon as possible.

Regards,

So yesterday I had hitbtc freeze my account after I tried to withdraw about 177 litecoins and after openning a support ticket, I was asked to do KYC. I've filled the KYC form and am now waiting to see what's next. But what really worries me is the existence of a lot of posts on the web with similar incidents saying that HitBTC has kept asking them for more information and even after months they still haven't got their funds and some have basically given up. I'm not here to accuse HitBTC of scam to be honest. I've been using them for a long time and never had an issue like this. I'm here to see if anyone has been in a similar situation and has been able to get their account and funds back? And if not, what is the solution? Have they done anything or have they simply given up? If you have had withdrawls temporarily disabled and asked to do KYC, please share your experience below and I will be forever grateful. Right now I'm trying to be calm but I'm really frustrated and I told them on Telegram as well that they should require KYC before accepting deposits, if they want to, and also that as far as I know there is no need for KYC for crypto to crypto trading both in Australia where I live and also in EU where apparently their office is. Cheers.

In summary, the verification can take upto a few months and there is no way to speed up the process. Hold tight on to your seats and possibly create more tickets to get their attention.
I don't think creating more ticket will helo. HitBTC has this tendency of giving very poor customer service.
