Maybe it's time for people to use decentralized exchanges instead.
People always need something extreme to happen in order to be forced into an alternative. As long as exchanges keep semi functioning (which they do) people are more than happy to stay. I'm not sure what eventually will make people switch to dex's, but it will take a couple of years before we even see a noticeable switch. The convenience need to increase a lot, the volumes, fiat trading still isn't decentralized and probably never will, etc.

It almost seems that the only way for these exchanges to vanish is when the altcoin bubble pops and these exchanges don't have anything to stay open for.

I just signed up to the exchange as suggested by my friend, if it is a scam he could never suggest me. From this I believe this is one among the trusted exchange. Particularly issues arise with every exchange and the same might have happened with few users and for the same we cannot indicate it as a scam.
What is that for logic. I can use something for years and recommend it to a friend without knowing that it actually is a scam. I'm not saying HitBTC is a scam, because it likely isn't, but your logic isn't adding up.

On the other hand, I do agree that people should stop calling exchanges a scam just because they aren't working as we expect them to work. We just need to accept how exchanges aren't able to meet our standards.

We want the best, get a poor experience in the end, and we complain. This is how all exchanges are subject to the same complaints and user annoyances. Maybe it's time for people to use decentralized exchanges instead.

I won't say Hitbtc is a very good exchange. It maybe not a scam, but too many cases of pending withdrawals, hacked accounts, and poor support to answer all the tickets. Those are enough reasons to be careful and step aside.
You can find a lot of people share their experience with this site and give negative reviews.

https://steemit.com/hitbtc/@gabrielmotta/why-is-think-hitbtc-is-a-scam
Furthermore, Hitbtc rated 2.21 on http://bittrust.org/hitbtc
HITBTC IS NOT SCAM!!! But there were some issues in December.

Then I say yes HitBTC is not a scam because I have an account there so far I don't have encountered any troubles regarding withdrawal to their exchange site everything went smooth transactions. Probably they are lack of support team to resolve issues and that case your transaction and money will freezing to their exchange site. So, I think if you are a client their make it sure that every transaction you made be sure that everything was right and no errors.

If you have got a problem with HitBTC, make an account on Reddit and then post a tyhread with your problem in the following subreddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/hitbtc/

HitBTC staff patrol that subreddit and should answer your questions.

Quote for reference.
Thanks for sharing it, everyone has to note that link just in case you need it in the future.

This is not true. HitBTC is a very good exchange. I traded a lot of altcoins on HitBTC, and their withdrawal rate is also very fast. They don't seem to have been attacked by hackers. I trust HitBTC.

It seems that HitBTC's reputation is not very good. There are too many people who give HitBTC a negative opinion. I have some altcoins on HitBTC. Should I be able to withdraw them to my wallet?

Well sometimes they are slow on withdrawal. But that is not the main issue. Their withdrawal fees are just MAD  Huh Huh Huh What are they thinking of? There are no other exchanges? They definitely lost me as a client because of that...

This is not true! Hitbtc is a very good trading site with a very high security.
I've been using it for a while and I've never found my coin missing.

that is what im also thinking . i think that this is just a fake accusiation because all what i know is that hitbtc is verry popular online exchanges. infact i do also have an account on hitbtc before and so far , i did not experience any problem regarding on thier services. anyways , these fake scam claims arent really new to see and hear because this has been happeing also to some other legit and popular exchanges such as yobit , kucucoin , binance , livecoin , etc .

Look at you. You are new here and figured out in such short time that it is scam site! How could you mate? I dont think that HitBTC is scam at all and I am using it since long time. I have been actually user of it since 6 months now and I had no problems using the same. I am regularly making trades on it and keeping my coins safely over there. Whenever there are forks happening I am literally putting large amount of BTC over this exchanger who in turn gives me free forked coins. I have  also enjoyed the withdrawals in the stress period when the fees were too high and then also I had no issue in the same. If you are not making the withdrawal process properly then no one can help.

HitBTC takes everything very seriously and each time you process withdrawal they send you mail where you have to click one link to authorise that transaction. If you dont do it then it will never get processed. People have failed at this and ended up in the misleading information. So make sure you understand the site completely and then talk about it.

Just avoid this exchange to avoid problems or difficulties.

I actually use that exchange site for my token, so i just want to say that exchange is not scam coz i didn't incounter any problem except for the withdrawal fee. So i agree that its not enough to determine if that site was scam, much better to try before we judge and give negative comment.

For now Hitbtc isn't still a scam and they are still operational.

It indeed isn't a scam exchange, but just an incompetent shithole. In most cases from what I have seen when it comes to the complaints, it can take an awful lot of time to resolve matters, but they get the job done eventually, and that alone is enough to not get marked as a scam exchange. Another aspect of these shitcoin exchanges is that they put themselves into these problems. If you list whatever shitcoin you can find as exchange, and people try to withdraw or deposit these coins, problems are basically guaranteed with node crashes, broken wallets, etc. Mostly all these shitcoins suffer from these problems, and the exchanges know that, but list them anyway due to their fierce greed. These exchanges are a plague and should be terminated if they don't want to ditch their old habits - same goes up for Yoshit.

I've been using hitbtc for a long time and yet haven't encountered any issues or found something that shows it as a scam site. Another thing good about the exchange is that, we can see most of the new coins getting listed to it at the very beginning. Maybe for few users there might be some issues while using and for the same we can't term it a scam.

Same is the case with me and i feel no issue with Hitbtc site. Everything is smooth there. Maybe you were trying to withdrawal any coin which was placed in maintenance mode or maybe you just wanted to create the FuD.
Just to convince my point, you can see the daily volume at the site and if the site is a scam it will end within few days which is not the case.
I'm now currently using hitBTC exchange, that is true that you could not cash out your coins their but I think that they have a maintenance on their site as of now. Besides, they adding now new coins for trading so there's no proof against them that they are going to scam us.
Maybe OP now creating a FUD news stating and accusing the false information, Meanwhile, Hopefully, they were fixed that problem as soon as possible to avoid suspicious think to their members.
There no need to wait for proof since most exchange have issues in regards with withdrawals and deposit delays. I have experienced delays on hitbtc exchange but issues been resolved fast.I don't know why on some users do really have too long delays. Even the most reputable ones do have issues on delays even hitting on monthly delays which is even more worse. For now Hitbtc isn't still a scam and they are still operational.

Hitbtc also mentioned that it might take more time since their network is clogged up huge amounts of tickets and if you keep sending more tickets, it would only take even more time for you to get your ticket answered.
While that makes sense to a certain extent, it's also a much used excuse to cover up their shitty support department. It's not that anything will change if they aren't willing to invest in more capable staff members.

Seriously, how long are people going to accept that what you mentioned about that more incoming tickets will cause more clutter in their system? A few weeks to a month is fine, but it has taken too long now.

They have had enough time to add more members to their staff department, but looking at their constantly slower responses, it doesn't look like things are changing for the better, or do they? Angry
They aren't willing to invest either for upgrading their system. Valid excuse or just a cover up they should addressed the customers with something better and give an assurance that after that "time" given by customers who are trusting them will benefit that wait.
I hope they will not be the same as yobit right now or be called as yobit v2.0.

They refuse to do so even their so many people ask that for convenience of their trade on Hitbtc but devs keep ignoring and maybe they doesn't want to improve since still errors are keep coming unto them day by day. And for this people should really need to be warned to avoid that site since it is been mishandled by the owner and traders might get trouble if their money stuck on that site.

HitBtc has been similar to Yobit on a 1:1 ratio basis from the very beginning. It's exactly the same in the way that a large portion of the traders there don't have anything to complain about because they make use of the top tier altcoins and thus are basically 'insured' of properly functioning networks, where the other large portion consists of complete noobs playing with utter shitcoins and face problems nearly the entire time. I don't know of one serious trader/investor who trusts its money with either Yobit or Hitbtc, or basically any other shitcoin exchange. The real winners are the operators behind these exchanges. It's a market where supply and demand is the main ruling aspect, and regardless of how much I don't like these exchanges, there is a lot demand for places where people can buy and sell hundreds of shitcoins that other exchanges don't want to list. You have to give the operators credit for their creativity, which made them millions and millions in profit.

This accusation has no basis. Hitbtc already announce that there will be some delay on withdrawal and deposit due to recently clogged on ETH network as well as all ERC20. Actually there is a note at top of balance section regarding that matter. Delay on withdrawal is not sufficient to conclude if the exchange is scam. There service is just poor by applying fixed amount transaction fee regardless on the actual amount of the token. But still I never encounter any issue when trading on hitbtc.
To add on to that, hitbtc mentions any changes on the top of the account menu bar, and they also display the newly added coins in the exchange's menu bar.
hitBTC may take some time to answer any one's support tickets but it does answer the after some time. The answer goes for every exchange or any website which has a support team. Hitbtc also mentioned that it might take more time since their network is clogged up huge amounts of tickets and if you keep sending more tickets, it would only take even more time for you to get your ticket answered.

This is totally uncalled for. Stop spreading unnecessary FUD around. HITBTC exchange has been around since 2013. They may be having some challenges with withdrawal issue, but that doesn't make them a scam in anyway. Thank you

Actually, no. If an exchange can't even process withdrawals on time and at least provide some support if they are not going to be bothered to process the withdrawal on time, then i think that it is fair to say that they are a scam.

Seeing the response on the hitbtc thread, OP isn't lying. Hitbtc also has negative trust on their account for shady dealings in the past.

So no, it's not uncalled for and i've seen a ton of people saying that their HitBTC accounts got hacked without any login notifications, withdrawals being stuck, etc. It's definitely not just one or two isolated cases.

Actually when people want to withdraw funds and when they want to buy something and if these exchanges don't provide a service on time then they think that they are scamming them. People have right to say that as well. Because when prices are low of the certain coin and after deposit, your account doesn't show your coins even after transaction confirmation then people will obviously frustrate. Also, they stopped replying to people tickets. All these things make people think that they are scamming investors.

I know that they had some withdrawal issues for ETH and ERC20 tokens some days ago. But afaik that is solved by now. Still, there were some rumors on twitter that the site got hacked, but I would not call that a valid proof. I never had any issues with the exchange in the past.
