What's the next most preferable altcoin exchange that we can get listed on? I know we're on crytopia but I think a more reputable high volume exchange would suit HBN better. I know I have wanted to buy decent sized chunks but Cryptsy was a gamble and I don't trust the lesser known exchange just yet.

I was thinking Bittrex or Poloniex

both polo and bittrex are good as well as c-cex.

Hi guys, how much would it cost to get a C developer to improve the block synchronization and ease the memory and processor issues by perhaps imprting them from another NVC fork? I looked into the stuff, but I found out that it is more profitable for me to spend time elsewhere since i'm such a C noob. Tranz is busy and I would love to see those improvements, don't you have a friend who could do it?

The lesson I think that we all have learned is to not keep too much coin on exchanges. Exchanges are not safe for long term storage.

Kind of sad about Cryptsy, in many ways it mirrors the general down mood of altcoins in general these days.

I first got into crypto mining LTC at LiteBonk...BigVerns first pool.  That was months before the altcoin explosion and the opening of [Suspicious link removed] fact I remember on the LiteBonk forum when Feathercoin was first released BigVern joked that if BTC was gold and LTC was silver then FTC were wooden nickels.  Smiley

Then the flood gates of altcoins opened and Cryptsy opened.  Those were good times.

nicely said .. all those moments are lost in time like tears in a rain

Anarchy is not chaos.
cryptsy was hacked. In retrospect the only solution for cryptsy and other exchanges in the future is one of two options:
1. Get insurance. If that is even possible to do.. not sure if exchanges can be insured.
2. The community must support the exchange in the exact same way as in the movie Its a Wonderful Life.
The exchange could return the money once they have recovered. Once people panic and take all their money out the exchange is doomed. We panicked. The next time this happens the exchange should tell it like it is and ask the people not to panic. Now no one will get the money back.

We should not be so mad at Big Vern we should be angry at the hacker. The hacker is the one that should be brought to justice.

Yeah. Except.

How the FUCK do you hack a cold wallet remotely? It would have to be actually an online wallet, not true cold storage. And that pretty much requires inside knowledge, even then.

It was room temperature apparently.

Must've been Cheesy

My suspicion regarding their architecture is that they weren't actually cold wallets, but simply offline until needed. Which is a very bad design. No proof of course, just speculation, but it's the only way I can see a backdoor getting the credentials. At best, this was incomplete paranoia. Security people should be diagnosed paranoids.

I think what happened is that the hacker set up a command and control center via code inside the Lucky 7 wallet that he asked Cryptsy to put online. This code allowed the hacker into a backdoor through the wallet. It must have been able to steal passwords as well. That is my guess. If it is an inside job then Vern will be destroyed as a result of that action. Cryptsy is bankrupted, Big Vern reputation is destroyed, his wife is divorcing him and he is losing his house. Looks like he is doing a bad job as a thief. I just hate seeing everyone losing but I guess the circle of trust is broken and there is no hope at this point.

i think he mean  if cryptsy is gonna dump all the hbn they have on cryptopia

as i know most of the coins there are from the users,   if that happen   vern is a dead man

is there a way to start hbn wallet with windows and it start shaking without  automatic unlock for pos ?

actually i don't understand why all the wallets are manually unlock for pos if crypted
as i know no body can steal coins if unlock for pos, or does it have something to do, if automatic unlock  that the key must be stored somewhere in a file what is not secure enough ?

i m away for 1 month and if computer reboot than can't shake

Well that's it for Cryptsy, done like dinner.

 http://blog.cryptsy.com/

Oh they were 'hacked'. Pretty big surprise. I think most of us saw this a mile away.

I've been staking for awhile but not selling any HBN. Are we on any other exchanges?

If I understand correctly, HBN is working well on cryptopia.co.nz

Will cryptsy come to cryptopia to sell all HBN from the wallet?

What do you mean with 'the wallet'?

I will turn up the volume on cryptopia now

I'll turn up the volume too.  My guess is that not being able to withdraw BTC or other coins makes the price high on Cryptsy and probably lowers it on other exchanges for the coins that can be withdrawn.  Once things straighten out I hope the pricing is better - I've had good results so far with Cryptopia I'm happy to report.
