Hi, just want to ask the owner of http://hobonickels.info/ to setup a lets encrypt SSL certificate (HTTPS://) to secure the website.
This should be done at least to keep the credibility in the crypto scene.

If you need any help here, just pm me.
Thanks for you efforts on HBN  Wink

May the force bit with you.
Hello guys,

I am a new to HBN and plan to hold long term. I have the wallet already set up on Windows but need to set it up primarily on my Linux computer.

Please do you have experience with setting up wallet in Linux? I managed to install Qt Creator where I opened HoboNickels-qt.pro file and if I understand correctly now I need to run it right? But then I'm getting this:

:-1: error: No rule to make target `libleveldb.a'.  Stop.

Do you know what can be the problem or do you have some simple guide how to set it up?

My second question is do you know where to unzip bootstrap in Linux?

Thank you very much and sorry for noobish questions.  Smiley

Sorry for the issue.  The make file for Leveldb changed somewhat when I moved to a newer version. But the qmake wasn't updated to reflect this.

So all that needs done is to change one line. I have fixed it in my github.

Code:
git clone https://github.com/Tranz5/HoboNickels.git
qmake
make

Regarding the Bootstrap. Generally unless otherwise specified it is kept under the user who run's it home directory.

So you can start it up once(to make the directories), and then shut it down. Then do the following (with care):

Code:
cd ~
cd .HoboNickels
wget http://hobonickels.info/HBNBlockChain.zip
rm -f blk000?.dat; rm -fR  txleveldb;
unzip HBNBlockChain.zip

Then start it backup

RE: Folding at home HBN group - great idea! Count me in!

Great. We are getting our ducks in a row. And will shoot for this Saturday to start.

On other news. I have submitted request to kucoin to list HBN.  If you are on that site. Send a nice email stating that you support HBN and would be an active trader of it over there.

Also hat-tip to nosekefik for creating a Mac Wallet for 2.0.1. It is now on Github release.
I sent him 1000 from the HBN fund but feel free to send him some other love: F1sZ4CwpKuBeX3wrr7qYnLetU6pQeRZWhd

Thanks!

I´m done with the new german ann thread for HBN. I shortete it a little bit. Hope you like it.
Maybe you will add the german thread to the first page here in the thread and post something in the german thread to make it official. Smiley

Thanks for the help! I will add a new this our page here as well, so others can quickly jump to it.

Is this correct?

Flip me an address for a thank you bonus.

Better call it "Deutscher Ankündigungs Thread" or "Deutscher HBN Thread". Smiley

No need for a thank you bonus. I do it for free to support your nice project. But thank you! Smiley

Also the cool thing is, those who start doing F@H from the start will earn more as you'll get a bigger share of the 1500 HBN.

I'm looking to start in a few days if I can get enough interest.

Thank you Harlow.

I think we are going to to 4 weeks as a test. We will start say this Saturday? I will withdraw 1k from the HBN fund, and I will put in the extra 500 to make it even 1,500 each week.

Harlow will be the point of contact, and do the payouts.   Just remember if you do want to participate, please be sure to use your HBN address as your user name on F@H and join the correct group.

I will also update the home web page to show our participation.

Thanks everyone!

I will join this with some contribution - can do 2k topup to hbnfund

Sounds outstanding. Some suggestions.

You should have a hbn donation address to feed the payoffs. You could always commit to paying, say, 5% of the balance in donations each week. As crypto surges and falls again and again, a lot of people would watch and be able to make a fair amount when the price of hbn is up, and when it is below electricity cost they could hit faucets or whatever. If crypto goes super high and you eventually have an interface showing number of current workers, expected payoff etc, you could be one of the new coin work type sites people check. The lower payoff would be popular in developing areas, which is where crypto is weak, though the computers would not be workhorses in those areas.

The future of crypto is definitely productive algorithms. Bitcoin cannot compete longterm with coins that produce something when they mine. Your idea seems to be a halfway point that will increase interest in productive algorithms and eventually Tranz may be forced to figure out how to incorporate it directly into the coin.

add
Initially you will probably be disappointed with participation, since those kind of things in crypto have always been slow to get attention. Your timing might be good though, as there seems to be a pretty massive increase in better old coins starting.

HBN Foundation is supporting Folding @ Home and will reward wallet holders who join us in our pursuit. Using your HBN wallet address as your folding username, you can get paid weekly block reward points in HBN coins. Our system automatically allocates HBN coins based on your personal contribution!
I'm about to explain something interesting and rather splendid, to boost the coin value and to let you all earn more coins for a good cause. The folding@home project is in a nutshell where computing resources are being used to get some coins but more importantly support disease research which is brilliant.
Created by Stanford University, Folding @ Home is a distributed computing project for disease research. It does so by simulating protein folding, and other types of molecular dynamics, all the while using idle resources of personal computers/smartphones/tablets of volunteers from across the globe. Help scientists study Alzheimer's, Huntington's, Parkinson's, and other cancers.
We NEED your assistance (idle resources on your computer/cell phone) to help find cures for diseases. To read more about what kind of research is being done, head over to the Stanford Edu website and read all about it.
How it will work is we will have an allocated amount of Coins to give for each folder – example 1500 HBN to begin with. Payments are made every week, so say one week we have 50 folders everyone will receive an equal share if they can achieve a minimum of 2000 points on the F@H. 2000 can be easily achieved even on a basic CPU, in even maybe a day.
Example – 1500 HBN to distribute
50 folders.
If you achieved more than 2000 pts on F@H, you will receive 30HBN.
This is just to begin with as more people fold the higher coins to give out.
I may look to begin a Points to coin ration. So maybe every 2000 points on F@H is worth 30HBN.
Let me know what you think.
If a yes from a majority then, I will set it up and tell you all how to do it.
I mean it’s for a good cause – will urge many to also join HBN and gain rewards. The best bit is you can leave it in the background , choose how much CPU you want to allocate , all without you not even realising it’s there.

Loving this surge in pricing. Coming back up to a reasonable value for such an awesome coin.

actualy we are on the highest dollar price since mid 2014 .. imho this is a spike and we will go down ... cos nothing major is happening just a expectation hype and bigger presence on net..
I still believe about this project. Good luck Dev and thanks for working hard.
Take care
