Those who have held bitcoin for years now have made a lot of profit In 2010 I had no idea about bitcoin I didn't really hold bitcoin until 2017 it really seems a lot more impossible that bitcoin would pump up so much. Those who were investors got huge profits looking at the price of BTC the price of bitcoin may increase further.

I wish I were among those investors. But don't know anyone holding Bitcoin from than 2015.
I kind of lived the same thing, back on very early days of bitcoin I apparently had an account at blockchain.com (formerly blockchain.info) and I have gathered as much as 6 bitcoins there, today that would have been life changing amount of money, maybe not retirement money yet, but half of it, but you know what I did? Years later in 2013 I came back and I saw that my coins worth nearly 700 dollars and I have cashed most of it out and gambled with two of them, lost that all as well.

Basically I did make free 500 bucks from bitcoin that way, and I assumed that I was one of the luckiest people in the world, how would I know that just 8 years later that would have been 350k+ dollars? That seems unreal, something that I assumed would be small and tiny became huge and moved from under 1k total to over 350k total, that seems as unlikely as it gets for me.

Only the wealthy guys is holding for long terms, and they've waited to accumulate during this periods of years until such time bitcoin price reached this very high value. Even that time of 2016-2017 btc price is considerably cheaper compared with the latest price which was very expensive for new investors who planned to start with cryptocurrency.
We can't determine who are these anonymous folks who also holds bitcoin from old days until present, aside from those who spend their money wisely.

Unfortunately I was not here in 2012 I arrived a bit later than that but still I remember the few bitcoins I mined in 2012 and that went lost in my dad's old desktop pc that got dismissed in late 2012. That is something I try to erase from my mind but it is hard to do  Grin

is there someone holding  bitcoin from early 2010   when the price is around 0.01 and still not selling today?    just wondering?
For me it's possible to hold your bitcoin for that long when you just forgot your wallet and suddenly came up into your mind that you have stock bitcoin in one of your wallets this is happened to me in my coinbase account where i just opened my account and i just shook that i still have bitcoin left on my wallet. Well in just my experience but when you are wondering if those people is investing into the long term where they just waiting for the price to be increase for that long maybe not or if your company where you can support your financial issues.

There are likely many people like that but they are probably not going to answer, the first reason is that they are very rich and they are not going to spend a lot of time in the forums to answer those kind of questions, and the second and probably the most important reason is that if they were to tell you that they had been holding bitcoin since that long then they are putting themselves a target on their backs, there are many scammers in the forum and they are always looking for an opportunity to try to get money and you do not want to attract the attention of those people.
Indeed, with this holding strategy, they are already new billionaires in this era and their job is to enjoy the world or design a business to achieve more, they may even be here and spend more time reading the information, instead of providing evidence or answers to this issue, money concepts and investment decisions always need to be kept secret when the flow of thoughts from different individuals can influence. But one thing I can confirm is that the number of people like that will not be as much as you say when 2017 was pretty good for crypto, most of us were taking profits and not coming back

It would really be a wise but a risky decision to make not knowing the flow of the rates. But knowing that it reached a certain peak in the last 2018, i think most of the holders' coins were traded out believing that they really earned a big amount.

They don't care this is the simpliest word to use as they are minding their business enjoying those assets

that they've able to keep till to this date, can't tell the accurate numbers of those early miners and holders,

those who work hard to understand what the future may bring to this asset, people who manage to keep

away from any rise and fall and still waiting for further target value.

Not that they are rich or they are protecting themselves because all identity here in the forum is protected unless you are posting it here. They are the pioneer of Bitcoin so expect that they are professional about securing there asset from scammer. Most of the early holders are not active anymore, It's either they lose there private key or they are not alive anymore.

There are some person here that can still ask this question like @theymos and other ancient user here tho.  Cheesy

There are some but I'm pretty sure they had already cash out some of their holdings.

The most popular names in crypto which made their fortune from bitcoin and had established a business, they are still holding until now but there are also people who just secretly enjoy their holding as they do not need to work harder just to make a living knowing bitcoin is already very popular now.

I am someone who purchased my coins in 2012, and I would say that more than 90% would have either cashed out, or lost their coins years ago. Even I ham now holding only around 20% of my original stash. I lost some to various Ponzi schemes, and I sold a large number of coins in 2015 and 2016, when the exchange rates were really low. Back then, no one really thought that Bitcoin would hit $60,000 per coin.

I'm sure that 20% is still huge mate, I would say congratulations because you still hold until now. As for me, I just missed this bull run to be honest, I thought it will not come this year and I thought altcoins would also rise, it actually rise but I'm holding altcoins that has no life in this bull run, that was my mistake as I converted by bitcoin to some altcoins that I thought have a potential.

But I admit that now a lot of people are returning to crypto because they want their bigger profits to come with the excitement of seeing ATH prices being so high, so this will be one pretty much demand if prices stay above high for long.
I wouldn't say those who just got into the crypto world and started learning it when bitcoin had reached the ATH were the one who were late. Everyone still has the potential to make a profit through trading and investing. But of course crypto trading and investing is not a get rich quick scheme, here we are never promised big profit but an important warning that we get is the risk we have to accept. If there is, just ignore it and report it because it's a ponzi scheme.

The people around here kept warning each other to be careful with vague schemes that were potentially dangerous. The security of your account, wallet and all important data must be properly maintained if you don't want to fall victim to hacker.

A few days ago I had the opportunity to find someone who still has bitcoin since 2014 and has never spent it. He's still active today and I salute him because all the bitcoin are earned from bounties, signature campaign, and so on. He admit that he is one of the hard bitcoin holder, although the amount is not much, but it is very profitable.

One of this is the creator Satoshi Nakamoto, no one are claiming and posting their wallets that they are one of the pioneer, the temptation to sell at 1000% profit is very high, if there are people besides Nakamoto who is still part of the early holders, it's either they forgot they have it, or forgot their keys or loss it.

I'm sure that wherever he is, he has lots of Bitcoin holdings and since he's the creator, he knows its capability and potential to strike higher in the future. There were holders who bought BTC last 2010 but sold it last 2017's bull run and we can't blame them because that's already a huge profit. There are also holders who bought in 2010 and still holding it right now. They're lucky enough to get a huge profit but I guess they wouldn't expose themselves publicly.

Let us count those people who forgotten their keys or account wallet because in the year 2010 bitcoin value is very cheap so they did not care about it.

Maybe some few crypto holder are very consistent holding their bitcoin from the start they bought it at 2010 upto now this year 2021 maybe they sell it some of it but not all of the coins they have but mostly that year expect their coins already sell earlier.

There is a wave of newbie who are now entering the bitcointalk forum asking only for help recovering the wallet password, private key or seed they had been holding on to for so long before they left. Some of them may have become bitcoin fans when they were very cheap between 2010-2015, and now they are back after bitcoin hit ATH with high hope of getting rich quick. If some of these newbie manage to get the bitcoin, I'm sure they'll be as excited as hitting the jackpot.
If they manage to open a private lock or seed then of course it is a jackpot that has never been expected before because they used to leave because they do not know what will happen in the future so that the demand may increase with rewards for those who have been able to open it the wallet first.
But I admit that now a lot of people are returning to crypto because they want their bigger profits to come with the excitement of seeing ATH prices being so high, so this will be one pretty much demand if prices stay above high for long.
Lucky for those who do able to make some recovery but for sure most of them that do held off on that early 2010 had most likely able to sold out when bitcoin hits up a few tens or hundreds of dollars.
Basing off with those success stories on getting rich with bitcoin then they do sell off on earlier time basis which means they dont able to maximize on the price that we do have today.
If there are people whom do able to manage to hold that long then its really an amazing thing that they do able to withstand all the challenges that they had experience on this market
its neither intentional or just simply they do forget out that they've been holding some coins wayback.Lucky if they do able to recover it up.

I don't want to talk about my long not spent bitcoin satoshi holding, but I think some of the people around here still keep them without spending them. As many have said, we don't know how many people still hold bitcoin until now that haven't been spent since 2010.

I wish I were among those investors. But don't know anyone holding Bitcoin from than 2015.

Hi.. I know a few friends who are holding coins from 2013. I got my first coins in 2017, when Bitcoin was still not very popular as an investment option. It has been 4 years since I made my first Bitcoin purchase and I have got returns of 60x-65x. Back then I used to regret about not investing in Bitcoin earlier. But now I realize that I was one of the lucky few to make the investment when Bitcoin was still in three digits.
