Was this the last auction or will there be one more? If there's another when is it, will it be the last and how many BTC will be sold?

as far as i know it was the final auction. before auction no one exactly knows how much coins will be auctioned and in how many batches.

A final auction of the roughly 44,000 remaining bitcoins will be held at an unspecified time in the future.

Well, don't expect to always get the chance to buy at bargain price. Try to visualize price having gone up multiple times of what it is worth right now and you realize that despite btc price going up, overall it is still considered cheap. And to think that the price is going to drop after the auction is over is probably not the right approach. Always ready yourself to seize the opportunity.

Generally anytime is a good time to buy if you think long term.

Auction of 50,000 btc hath taken place and no price dump wot ith going on I woz hoping to buy a couple at 250 wot dose the price think its doing going up like that the auction woz supposed to dump the price not height it im so angry

and now im forced to buy at 300 im just so angry

Hmm not sure if you're drunk or you're into something, but let's go back to the topic. The winner(s) of the auction are definitely not that dumb to immediately dump their coins in the market. They, of course, will wait for the right timing and the right profit they see, or even hold in the long term. No big dumps will happen sooner or later. They will hold, and may dump those coins once they consider the price as nice profit.

Bitcoin exchange itBit is one of the winners (3,000 bitcoins). I think they might just hold it as reserves.

Never heard of that exchange before. Who knows what will they do judging by past experiences with dodgy exchanges. If they sell soon they will cry later anyway.

You are not hopelessly confused.
You are pretty firm that you want to buy BTC.
That definitely is the right decision.  Smiley

why they should dump now, when the price is recovering so nicely, they must be dumb, they don't want to crush the market
They know they can be the next Rotchilds of cryptocurrencies if they hold for enough time. One would be insane to sell now when the future is looking so bright for Bitcoin.

so is this shit gonna be big the future then so your saying 300 is nothing to what it can acheive so are we still in the bronze age of bitcoin just like the internet midway investors so to speak

so

so ur saying it doesnt matter because 1 bitcoin will be worth alot when mainstream so we are mid range adopters then?
What happened to the broken English?

300 is nothing. My guess is that BTC will be bigger than email or FB. Since there is a hard limit in the number of bitcoins and almost no limit to the use of bitcoins. The price could go into the 10's or 100's of thousands. Or millions? We'll see.

By the way I called you a troll because your initial post had a lot of red flags. Normally the next post is either a solicitation for money or a rant about how your loss means bitcoin is a failure. If I was wrong about you I'm sorry.

Hard to tell whether you're trolling or not but why would the people who bought the coins dump them. It would be stupid to do that and they'd just cause their own coins to lose lots of value. Whoever bought them will probably using them much more wisely than that.

BTC is nearly at the bottom comparing to the last and probably the next ATH peaks.
It doesn't matter if you bought it at $200 or $300 if your plans are long term.

Nobody expected a price dump after the auction.
The people who bid are big players, and are definitely not interested in turning it around to make a quick profit.
You may still get lucky - $300 is cheap when looking at the price of bitcoin over the last one year.
A good bull run might net you a neat profit.

Yep, don't listen to the doomers just look and you can see it's on a steady climb.  Buy as you can afford and only with money you can afford to lose!   Just in case you missed it.  Only buy with money you can afford to lose!  There are no guarantee's and it's all risk.  Higher the risk = greater the return or loss.
