I have lots of shitcoins in my wallet as rewards when I joined different bounties and airdrops in 2017 because of the hope of gaining a good profit when they hit a good price but they turned out to be trashed. It will never be a good idea to spend money just to buy shitcoins. If I could only delete or send them to random wallets, then I'll do it because they're just filling out my wallet. There were lots of projects that failed before resulting in multiple shitcoins stocked all over our wallets.
Many of us here can relate to your situation, I also have shitcoins on my past wallet that came from bounties and airdrops from the past. Some of them are just so bad that the project team doesn't even budge to list their own coins into an exchange or didn't put a liquidity to make it tradable. Some of them are just not worth it to sell because the fee and gas is much more higher compared to the shitcoins value. This is why we all still have those old shitcoins in our wallets.
[/quote]actually this did not happen to old wallets and to shitcoins only but also happened to the wallets and altcoins that we have today, as a bounty hunter like me, so many shitcoins and trash altcoins have piled up in the wallet because they have no value and because the price is too low. so we can't do anything
but basically altcoins are more promising as long as the project is still being developed by developers whose prices can change at any time while shitcoins will forever be trash and be abandoned by developers

meaning you have shitcoins on hold?
It is clear that he said he has some shitcoins got from joining the signature campaigns.

there is nothing why we need to buy more shitcoin when all we need to do is join bounties and airdrops to accumulate shitcoins and spend no single amount for those.
I believe that most shitcoins in our wallets are the coins we got from bounties or airdrops. It is very unlikely that we intentionally buy shitcoins for investment, especially long-term investments. For investment, naturally people must prefer to buy trusted coins or top coins because they are more secure and have a clear future.

So, actually, we got those shitcoins for free, we don't spend money. People just speculate or try their luck to have shitcoins, that's why people commonly got them for free only.

Looks like many shitcoin holders are on same boat, we can't get rid of useless tokens. Due to obvious market circumstances, the exchange rates are low to sell and we have two options. Either we will burn these useless shitcoins with sending to bin address or sell at lowest point but main issue is transaction fee on Eth network as you mentioned.
If you have a wallet full of shitcoins, you should be aware of two things before selling them:
1. In a bullrun, most projects will pump, regardless of utility, so you should wait for a sustained bull market before selling.
2. Some tokens are malicious and can drain your wallet. If the contract is not verified on coingecko, don't trade it.

What am I investing in now? I'm buying projects that are launching during this new bull market, like Lamina1 and MAXX Finance. This way they don't have any bag holders from the bear market selling to break even - no downward price pressure.

As the name suggests, it worth literally nothing. Most of the shitcoins I got are from scam projects from lot of signature campaigns I have joined in the past, so having shitcoins in my wallet is my daily routine I would say. But still, if we are talking about shitcoins in the market right now. I don't want to take a risk on that.
meaning you have shitcoins on hold?
I mean, where do I even sell it when most of the shitcoins on those campaigns don't even have exchanges to even trade at? That's why most of the shitcoins in my wallet stuck there forever, even if they have one it worth nothing and even the transaction fees were bigger than the amount of rewards I got.

there is nothing why we need to buy more shitcoin when all we need to do is join bounties and airdrops to accumulate shitcoins and spend no single amount for those.
I didn't say I buy those shitcoins.

I also believe that all we have to find is a potentially currency and projects than these kind of nonsense coins.
These days, they act like they are a legit project but in the end it ends up like anything else becoming scammy projects.

Are they OK? Cool

If Bitcoin surges, shitcoins go up LESS, if Bitcoin goes through a dip, shitcoins go down MORE. Bitcoin is currently only a few percentages from ATH. Everything in this part of the bull cycle might be only for Bitcoin.

Haha my shitcoins from 2017 are dead or nearly dead, they did not even get much boost in the last BTC ATH,,, even poor Monero and Litecoin briefly made ATH but nowhere as exciting as Bitcoin.

Lesson for future always always shitcoins is pure speculation (but LTC and XMR are real ones of course).
I saw everyone around me get rich and I stayed poor because I went all in on XRP. I'm still holding my XRP but I have been doing airdrops and bounties, like the ones from CNDL chain and Metamask. Are there any other good ones going on right now?

I am the same as you, most of the shitcoins in my wallet are obtained from bounty campaigns. Which my shitcoins cannot be sold and seems to be
stuck in my personal wallet. I think the risk of participating in bounty campaigns is that we often get shitcoins as rewards. So like you said
eventually having shitcoins became commonplace, it doesn't really matter if we get shitcoins from bounty campaigns, faucets or airdrops.
The most important thing is that we never spend money to buy shitcoins, because buying shitcoins has a very high risk, meaning that
the possibility of us making a profit from shitcoins is very small. If there are influencers who promote shitcoins, don't be easily tempted and
buy shitcoins. Because it is possible that we can lose money when investing in shitcoins is very large, that's because many shitcoins end up as scams.

I also lost a lot of funds investing in Shitcoin. I have held some shitcoins for almost three years and those coins are showing no signs of recovery, even during the bull market there is no change in the price of those shitcoins. So this can be a lesson to never think of trusting this shitcoin for long term investment, because this shitcoin can eat your entire fund.
Me, too. I also have a bad experience with shitcoins, I lost hundreds of dollars. Previously, I ofter followed the hype of new altcoins, I bought when it was still IEO or ICO. When there was a pump, I still kept those shitcoins. Unfortunately, I missed the chance to sell, now it dropped significantly and never pumped again. It is surely a big lesson to not plan shitcoins for a long-term asset.

We have certainly all been through this, I missed the opportunity to sell my coins thinking they would rise again, and now I am holding useless coins from 2018. Since then, I have realized that bitcoin is safer and more profitable than any other coin.
This is a lesson that I want newbies to know but it seems like they are like us before, trying to find a coin that can give high returns in a short time. They will soon learn the truth after having experiences like ours.

Currently only holding ethereum and Solana next to BTC. Don't know if these are considered shitcoins on this board Grin
Ethereum I expected to grow because of the merge and my hunch seems to be paying off.
Solana is doing nice aswell...  Smiley
well Have seen some thread in the past that calls Ethereum as Shitcoin but for me those days are passed and now? I treat ETH as precious coin like Binance , Ripple and Solana of course , aside from those NFT that I come to hold back in 2021 but now have sold them all.
from the name we also understand, yes Shitcoin is still a shitcoin, and if you ask about shitcoin today, I will say I don't care.
because shitcoin has made me really lose a very large capital, and of course this is a lesson for me not to do it again!

I also lost a lot of funds investing in Shitcoin. some shitcoin that i come to hold are comes from Bounties that i use to joined before or at least those Airdrops , if there are some that i bought? those are very cheap that almost no capital at all.
Bounties, like the one from CNDLchain dot com (and others listed on this forum) are great ways to make extra cash IMO. This is especially true if you don't have money to invest but do have some extra free time. Who knows, it may eventually end up in a full time crypto job. How cool is that?!

I also have these coins in my portfolio and I never considered ETH and Solana as shitcoins. ETH gave me profit for holding it for long and I had the chance to sell during peaked price. On the other side I see potential in Solana and believing it will be a big thing in the future. Thus I think these coins cant be called shitcoins unlike meme coins who dont have real use case.

I've done the same experience also with shitcoins and that's why I've learned from there and started to buy only good altcoins that I think will be there for the next 5 years.

It is difficult to predict what will happen to any project in the crypto market. Because the Luna incident taught us a lot, that even top coins can become zero overnight. But yes, investing in solid projects has a little less risk compared to shitcoin.

Shitcoins are indeed difficult to predict. I have also been trapped in the shitcoins that I hold, as a result, all of them are not valuable and I just surrender to what I have invested in shitcoins old.
Maybe many have experienced it, I say this is no worse than Luna, whose price was high to zero 99%, down in an instant, this was really terrible, not only small investors were trapped but several other companies also lost due to Luna.

I guess the majority of us experienced this kind of thing with shitcoins.  If we failed to sell during the hype we will always left bag-holding worthless tokens.  With shitcoins timing is very important since most shitcoins pump only once and then go poof.

There is indeed a risk in crypto investment but you are right when you say investing in solid coins we have a small risk, so that's what I'm doing now by choosing solid coins to invest.

The thing with solid coins is that it takes too long to realize profit while shitcoins if get lucky and timed the selling right, can give us 1000x+ returns.

True.

It's getting harder today and that's another learning experience but I haven't invested there but, I feel those that have lost lots of money in Luna and UST fiasco.

There's really something that tells everyone in most altcoins and that's why we need to be careful with our choices. We have to do our researches all about it before investing.
