You mean "activity".  Roll Eyes

All true stuff, glad you pointed it out--and this thread just keeps getting better as it goes along.  I was actually surprised to see a "how I earn merit" thread in Meta after all this time, because we had a great streak going where such turds weren't being cranked out.

Most of your posts are in the Altcoin Section (aka the shitcoin subsection). You’re not going to gain many Merit’s posting in there because the people who hand them out don’t post in there.
If I had any piece of advice to give an actual newbie, it would be to avoid sections like that where not only your post but the thread it's in is going to get buried within a matter of minutes.  Even if it was truly merit-worthy, it's not likely that the post is going to be seen by someone with merit to give in a section like Altcoin Discussion (or Bitcoin Discussion, Economics, Speculation, and probably a couple other sections).

I remember those good old days when you can gain merit from this forum by making 30 posts as a newbie.

You could not before gain merits by making your 30 posts on the forum, but you would be promoted to Jr member rank without having gained one merit as soon as your activity grows to match your post count. The system was changed and now you need to earn at least one merit.
There are already many guides in how to get merits on the specific boards.

One tip is to turn off the caps lock. I don't usually open threads with all caps in the title, and I only opened this one to make this post.

To get Merit you just need to make useful, helpful, interesting posts & become a good addition to the forum. You can do it, you just need to make a better effort to integrate yourself in the correct areas of the forum.

Plagiarism from head to toe.  Roll Eyes

Copied:
A cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual currency designed to work as a medium of exchange.
It uses cryptography to secure and verify transactions as well as to control the creation of new units of a particular cryptocurrency. Essentially, cryptocurrencies are limited entries in a database that no one can change unless specific conditions are fulfilled.
.. What all these long English simply means is that Cryptocurrencies can not be easily 'forged' and it's transactions can't be manipulated.

Original:
There have been many attempts at creating a digital currency during the 90s tech boom, with systems like Flooz, Beenz and DigiCash emerging on the market but inevitably failing. There were many different reasons for their failures, such as fraud, financial problems and even frictions between companies’ employees and their bosses.

Original:
So many of us will remember E-Gold and Liberty reserves back then also... for those of us that traded forex back then.
Notably, all of those systems utilized a Trusted Third Party approach, meaning that the companies behind them verified and facilitated the transactions. Due to the failures of these companies, the creation of a digital cash system was seen as a lost cause for a long while.

My question is, what kind of post can one make to earn these merit? I know i have made some little effort but yet to gain it.

The first rule is not to copy/paste the content of others without citing the source.

You are definitely an account farmer, because the old days that you are talking about were before January 24, 2018 (that is when the Merit system was introduced), while your account (this one) was created on July 21, 2018, and yet you say, "I remember those good old days......." which means that you were there in those old days, farming accounts and earning money by selling them time to time. And now when the Merit system is there, you are not being able to farm accounts anymore, and that is what concerns you. Otherwise, you wouldn't have cared, and if you were really to make any efforts, you would have definitely learnt about the systems in here by now.  Roll Eyes

posting about bitcoin related will made you easyer to gain merit because this forum was created to talk about bitcoin. you can try posting on META section because many high rank member ussualy chat in there and if they think your post was good you can get some merit, just try not to randomly write.
or you can try here's a thread created by pugman to gain some merit.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/a-simple-bitcoin-qa-learn-new-and-interesting-stuff-about-bitcoin-2968050
but i don't know if it's still ongoing or not.

I think the merit system was abused and there was correction.
Everyone has to put in effort to contributing to this awesome forum.

In order to gain merit from people who are in here you need to create a wonderful posts where all member from this forum will get benefits. It's hard to gain merits because it is also hard to create a wonderful topic. If you really want to earn merit you to have a wonderful posts or topics.

which clearly does not contain negative things about the contents of the meaning of the posts in the forum, try to be quality. but sometimes quality for themselves is not necessarily of some quality. but in principle do not be in the direction of continuing. because in this forum there is a team that can judge whether or not the post is quality or not.

Well to begin with, you need to make a good post, educative, inspiring and relevant to the crypto currency world.
And if you persist and make good posts diligently, you will get the merits you aspire in a very short time

but now, focus on making good posts.

It depends on your topic's content, it can bring interesting news or usefull knowledge for community or not and topics which involve to fix technical errors are usually easy to get merits
