Learning about bitcoin is not tough. There are many Youtube channels and free resources that you can explore to get started with. You can also try various courses from platforms like Udemy and coursera.

Its tough to learn bitcoin if you have zero knowledge about it and you don't have any knowledgeable guys around you to teach about the basic things you need to learn about it. And its just the most interested guy about it will survive because for sure not everyone can afford to see those scams happening in crypto space. But if newbies really want to learn some good information about bitcoin they should go on this forum since we are jam packed of information and anything they need to know is already here.

Internet has already the information we need to learn about bitcoin. If OP is really eager to learn about it then reading topics from different boards on this forum will already give him many idea what is bitcoin. You don't have to be a techy person to learn bitcoin. As long as you know the basic concept of bitcoin like how it works or how it can be traded then you're good to go. Just remember that investing into bitcoin is not a quick rich scheme. There are scammers that introduces bitcoin to newbies as a ponzi investment.
and this forum is the main reference to learn about what bitcoin is and the technology in it. The internet today is very broad with a variety of information that can help anyone, depending on how to use it.

Especially now that you can get an explanation of what bitcoin is, you can see videos that are already widely available on YouTube. Investing in Bitcoin is a digital asset investment that can be both profitable and detrimental, depending on how it is done.

Those who just want to do a get-rich-quick scheme in bitcoin, of course, are just beginners who don't understand cryptocurrency, who in the end say that bitcoin or crypto is a scam because they suffer a lot of losses.

Today, the popularity of bitcoin is growing every day, despite different reviews about it. And it is not surprising that people are interested in him, assuming that they do not understand anything about him.

But OP, you probably came here via some sort of search engine? Thus, you have already found the right path. It is clear from your posts that you are trying to learn about cryptocurrency, so you just need patience. You know how to read, you know how to search, there is a lot of information on the forum, and there are also sources for external resources. You can’t understand everything overnight. If you are curious, you will definitely infiltrate and begin to understand what you are really interested in bitcoin.

In the meantime, I ask you to stay on the forum and continue to study.
Be patient, consistent and never give up. This will help him understand what he wants. Here we can't understand bitcoin overnight, that's for sure. But if they do exist, then I'm sure they might not be new to bitcoin anymore.

I think the OP should have spent more time on thread having technical discussions than other thread in general. This will get him used to reading something technical about bitcoin and he will probably get to know it better. People say your environment will affect your attitude, so he should be more understanding if he often discuss technical later.

Read some books about bitcoin and other crypto related topics. Once you have done reading all of those then you can start asking someone here regarding on the part if ever you have something that you find it hard to understand. I am also not knowledgeable about this forum, Bitcoin, Ethereum and many more cryptocurrency that I know of and what I have learnt for the past 4 years staying in this forum. Try checking Ratimov's Beginners and Help Encyclopedia that consists of guides mostly for newbies and more. Check the link that pooya87 gave.

The resources on bitcoin.org are helpful to get you started: https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started
It was the first site I used to learn about bitcoin, bookmarked it and read it over and over until there was some knowledge I could get there. If I find something confusing, then I'll try asking more established forum members. The site is one of the most recommended resources, IMO.

I get good advice on how to get started as I also don't have the perfect educational background for IT or anything like that. I don't even know how to use a computer to edit image, but I'm slowly getting around to it out of habit. Read, ask and practice [should be worth it] if you want to learn the technicalities of bitcoin. That is my suggestion to the OP, but to use bitcoin and get the benefits, you don't have to learn it technically.

Thanks in advance..
Good thing about Bitcoin is that, it is like a car engine, a lot of drivers including myself don't know how a car engine functions, but we are great drivers, this is to say that even with a very little technical knowledge of Bitcoin like knowing how to set up your non-custodial Bitcoin wallet, knowing how to write down and keep your wallet's private keys or seed phrase in a safe place where preying eyes can not have access to it, knowing how to receive and send Bitcoins from your wallet, also know how to trade Bitcoins on the exchanges.
With all this knowledge, you are already a full Bitcoiner with several steps ahead of many who are still doubting the legitimacy of this technology.
There is already a lot of resources shared here, you should make out time to go through them all, you will learn a lot about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as you requested.

Goodnight, o_e_l_e_o 🌹
Op well done for your keen question. So many people have provided answers to you, but I just want to add to them.

Firstly, you must not be a tech savvy before you understand bitcoin. I said so because you emphasised on technicalities. Though it depends on the extent you want to go with bitcoin.

Understanding the basics of bitcoin, knowing the difference between a custodial and non custodial wallet and downloading one doesn't require technicalities. Being able to send btc to another person and also to keep your seed phrase secured doesn't require technicalities. So, you can invest and enjoy the good things of bitcoin by reading and getting ordinary knowledge of bitcoin.

If you then want to take your bitcoin knowledge far, you can run a full node, maybe consider mining and paying attention to technical things of bitcoin. Then, get started with the materials provided you above. Best regards!

No I don't think DCA is for everyone, especially for beginners who have no idea of the high volatility of Bitcoin. People who've made DCA during the recent years have to sell at loss if they need to cash out their money now and will have to continue to make DCA during a very long time to lower their breakeven point to the current market price if Bitcoin stays at those levels.

The very point of DCA is getting used to bitcoin price volatility. And cashing out at loss is not DCA specific. I guess almost everyone who bought during last months is selling at loss now.

you can view that links which links you got from first 3 post on this thread. and for more information you can googled as your needed. and you can also watch youtube video about bitcoin. and i will advise you read about bitcoin on this forum. you will get many info about bitcoin & cryptocurrency here . just you have to search hardly yourself
I would say that even googling itself would be enough. But at the same time, you do not really need to go into too much detail to know what you need to do in order to profit, do you? You buy bitcoin from one of the places in your nation, you hold it, and eventually the price recovers and you make a profit from it, that’s about it.

I do not know why people are making a big deal out of all of this, "non-technical" is a weird thing to say when we are talking about money. Do you need to be a technical person to use fiat? Of course not, if you are not purely cash type of person, we handle all of it with digital apps on our phones and crypto is not harder.

It is a good thing that learning about bitcoins is not restricted to some people in a certain field (career). Many of us here had little technical knowledge before knowing about crypto and learning about bitcoins, don't begin to feel so lost OP.

My coding or computer education is almost nil.
Computer education/coding is not really a requirement, there are some who know about bitcoins and even hodl but have little/no computer knowledge as well

I want to learn about bitcoin and everything in crypto.
Your enthusiasm is applaudable, I'd like to say that asides all the various helpful resources, you should also cultivate the habit of asking reasonable questions when concerned and not being ashamed to get clarity. Asking is a great way of knowing.

To learn about bitcoin as a user, you don't necessarily need technical knowledge or specialty. Anyone can use bitcoin, even with a medical background like yours.

You are already at the right resource for getting enough information about bitcoin, but here it has a bit of a scattered nature, and not like a book, with separate chapters and transition from simple to complex. In any case, here you can find most of what you need. Even more.

Welcome to the world of bitcoin and it would be interesting to know what made you start to be interested in it right now.

Mind you challenges are inevitable that is why forums like this exist where everyone grow together. The coding aspect can come in later first enjoy the basics to a point you can explain it to someone else then you launch into something more technical and mind blowing.

You can start here: https://learnmeabitcoin.com/

Or you if love reading books: https://aantonop.com/books/iom/

The first link can give you the core concept of what bitcoin actually is starting from simple up to the most technical stuff, while the internet of money is more of like philosophical concept regarding bitcoin.
There is a mistake in the first link...I mean the article
Quote
Bitcoin is an electronic payment system created in 2009.
, bitcoin was created in 2008 and lunched in 2009. Though the article is wow!!! I really enjoyed reading the article to gather more information to the ones I I have gathered. That is why learning is a progressive process that has no ending. Then the second link is very nice for the books (The internet of Money. Volume one to two and the other book) stated there. But I discovered that the books can no be accessible unless you pay or buy the books from Amazon. That is poor users can not afford it.

For the OP, you can use the two links that have been provided by Maus0728 to equip yourself with bitcoin and also make more research on search engine like Google and Yahoo. But all depends on your interest and ability to learn. You also need time to read or navigate the net to search for information. You might be interested to read but time is a very big disturbing factor in learning.

If you don't like reading antonop books, you can always watch his youtube videos. There are lots of videos detailing Bitcoin actually some are not so hard to understand and fit for newbie. I'm not very much an knowledgeable myself about BTC. Only the basics of BTC and I only pick up some information in this forum when I tried altcoins what I learn much is trading and playing casino.

Took me years to look into the Whitepaper but there are still lots of terms I'm not familiar.  Nothing much for me to learn as all I want is to use BTC for my trading. If my employer just pay me BTC, I would very well accept.

You do not need to read many books, learn many computer language or anything at all. Do only two things.
a. Read the whitepaper and read it a way that you understand the 9 page file.
b. Learn how to create a wallet and secure it.

Take it simple. You do not lean how money was created, who control money, what paper it needs, what printer, what other material to create money. You only see money, have it to you, keep it in bank, spend it. Simple. Bitcoin is the same simple.

What parameters are you actually talking? Do you mean Bitboy, a youtuber with millions of subscribers shilling useless and scam projects of different NFTS, Defi and the likes?

With large number of influencers encroaching on the YouTube space, it is likely that beginners like OP are susceptible to some false information, which would eventually cause him to invest in projects with little to no value. Plus, it will just introduce another rabbit hole that could lead to confusion.

Some really cool resources I see already mentioned but I understand it can still be time-consuming and hard to see for a lot of people, especially these days people want things in bite size format.

There are quite a lot of "Learning" and "Academy" courses I think might suit this need. Coinbase has one if you can,,, I see also from Binance.

Problem is they want you to use their product (exchange).

Independent one I know a new one is LearnCrypto.com it has many TLDR sections you can check.

I might add a few word to all the excellent suggestion above.
Take your time.
Don’t rush.

We are still very early in the bitcoinisation process, don’t rush making investments until you don’t understand at leat the basic concepts.

Read the forum, study, ask questions.
When you are confident, start with a small sum so you can practice with wallets, private keys.
Then start buying small amounts over fixing periods (something called Dollar-Cost-averaging) and go on studying.

Bitcoin can be a very complex matter, you’ll stumble in very different points of view. You will fined your own.

And, above all, doubt of every investment tips, of course. Everyone want to put their greasy hands on your precious satoshi’s!

Then you try finding coins or projects that are working on rectifying issues in the current system and are undervalued when compared to their peers in market cap.
You can not do that with "basic" understanding of the technology. Otherwise you'd end up brainwashed by pretty advertisement where they first create a fake problem (eg. "bitcoin is slow" or "bitcoin uses too much energy") then introduce you to their own scam coin that supposedly fixes those fake problems (eg. a shitcoin "faster than bitcoin" or one using the fundamentally flawed "PoS algorithm"). When you are fooled into buying that shitcoin, they dump their premined coins on you and make a lot of profit while you end up holding worthless bags.

Learning bitcoin from an investment point of view doesn’t require you to learn every thing.

You have to be able to know basics of how blockchains work , smart contracts , Dapps , DeFi and NFTs and meme coins these are the few spaces you should have a fair idea about.

Then you try finding coins or projects that are working on rectifying issues in the current system and are undervalued when compared to their peers in market cap. You look at how actively the team is working and how much they are promoting themselves and spending on ads. What kinds of acquisitions they are making and if any institution is considering or has already been in tie up with them. Then do they grab interest of influential people. Then how good is the future scope of the project, will it stay viable long term basis.

For all of this you can go through Reddit , Quora and YouTube channels of prominent people in this field. Also watch only content with a from a credible platform, these days 1 year olds are explaining how to invest in cryptos , so better stay away from getting scammed

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Bitcoin

Almost every question you have in your mind is answered there and all you need to do is to spare some time reading it.
The only hard thing to do for the newbies is the actual transacting, sending and receiving BTC as long as you only try little amount first, you all good and when you did it successfully, the next one would be easy.
