You're not spending your budget for food or other necessities are you? You still have a decent chance to recover if that's the case.

You can do all these things if you really mean it,
..I want to travel I want to spend money on girls I want to enjoy...

It would help take off your gambling from your mind. Maybe you'll realize you don't really need to gamble your money to enjoy the little things in life.

7-8 in addiction is something very hard to stop, honestly. But there is only one thing it helps you out from such addiction and to make use of other stuff to please you. And from that way, your mind went busy to something, not in gambling anymore. That probably is not instant, but at least making your mind out of gambling would change your habit gradually. And this also becomes possible if you will include your family and of course, it needs commitment or else, that still be useless.

You should first need to learn to cintrol yourselves, no one can help you but you. Try to think of all the loses you’d been through which can be use as investment in a business or more important things that you might enjoy. I knew people who are addict in gambling before but when they statt to have a regular job as well get more sideline job to forget gambling, some have business that needed to focus with their families support they were able to minimize their addiction little by little. You need to set your mind and focus into other things, it will be hard to do at first but set your priorities and allot only minimal time and money . Little by little you will see that there is a improvement in yourself.
Control yourself and be serious on quitting gambling for good and dont tend to go back once you had able to move on and trying to avoid all sorts of things which is related to gambling so that it wont really poke up the addiction that you do have in the past.It all matters on how you do control yourself and tend to get rid completely of it, this wont be simple yet this one really talks about discipline which you should really be mindful
on doing things whether you do engage or avoid as much as you can.You could quit for yourself without the need or help from others.

Lot’s of gamblers are into this situation but most of them afraid to accept that he’s already addict and drowning to it, kudos to OP for accepting the truth and seeking for a help so he can get out of that trap.

You family can be a big help for your recovery, ask for their help and forgiveness I’m sure they won’t give up on you. This may take a lot of time and discipline, but once you are able to survive that’s the price of your sacrifices. Gambling is bad if you abuse it, this should be a lesson for every gambler not to gamble that much.

I am really sorry to ear about gambling addiction, I can understand your feelings and I have a good friend with similar issue.
I talked about it here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.58970725

Don't feel stressed for your error in the past. ALL people that you know have done some mistakes in the past. We are humans.

Here on forum you can find some suggestion
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12848315
or people to talk, but I would be honest: This is not the right place for a medical help/assistance.
You should ask medical help / psychological help / professional help... this is the only and right think for your situation and the only way to overcome this problem.

Seek professional help, more of a life coach or psychologist. Since you can't stop yourself anymore and you lose control already, you should tell your immediate relatives. If you can't go find seek help from a professional, you should tell your family as they're the first ones to help you deal with and overcome this addiction that you're experiencing. It is obvious that you cannot help yourself anymore because you've proven yourself. It's a severe addiction and I'm sure that you cannot overcome this alone and that's why you need those factors that I've said to help you.

Once a victim is addicted to gambling such cannot breakout of it easily by once self. An easy way out is   to confide  in a close relative or someone or a registered agency assigned to handle gambling addiction. You could possibly visit a a physiatrist. You also need to build strong discipline with your finance if it's a difficult task then avoid handling your funds your self
Before you do reach out those people then the most sensible first thing to be done is to help yourself first because this would be the absolute solution if you do ask me on which you should help out yourself
before anything else.

You could really stop that addiction if you are really serious on quitting on it and wont tend to engage out and have that proper discipline and control.Even though this might sound simple
but this is the hardest thing at all and if you do find out that it isnt working then thats the time you do really find or seek out some help.
Each one of us wouldn't really be that aware in regards our actions until we do realize that we are already messing our own lives because of the actions that we are making.Gambling addiction had wrecked up many lives and that's why gambling businesses is really profitable due to this very common human behavior on where they do get addicted and spent up money even more. One you do get tangled with gambling addiction shackles then getting out is really hard to be done and this is why you do seek help from your loved ones and if it doesn't work then seek out for professional help and as you said you should really have that extreme control on yourself on to resist into playing once again.

Not an easy one so the better option is to ask for someones help because if you do it alone, you’ll end up on the same thing or worst case scenario, you might not be able to control yourself and something bad might happen to you. I also have friends that are addict before, he slowly recovering from this trauma and with a help of his family, he is now free from gambling.

Sometimes I wonder how dangerous gambling can be... I can't imagine that there are people who have addictions like that...

I hope to help you... but I believe the best has already happened... you already realized that you have a gambling addiction and you want to improve your situation, this is already a positive thing, because you want to get out of this addiction and you are here sharing your situation with us.

Try to get in touch with a close family member or a friend so they can help you, I believe that the help of a professional (psychologist or psychiatrist) can help you too

Try to occupy your mind with interesting things, if you have already learned web design or digital marketing, why not take more courses and specialize even more in this area?

I also believe that talking to or knowing reports from people who were also addicted to gambling can help you too.
Watch videos, documentaries on this subject, because if it worked with someone else, there are chances of helping you too!

Hope I helped you!

I know this question would have been asked many times already but I feel I have a serious gambling addiction problem which I need to solve...
I have been doing betting in sports since 7 to 8 years and I already in my life I have got into huge huge troubles due to gambling. Even I tell you I lost all my father's life time earnings in gambling. I lost close to 120000 USD money which is huge huge..now I think I could have done a big business with those funds in my country. One year ago my family got to know about it. I faced many many problem which I will not tell one by one.
I really faced hard time since last one year. But this one year I worked hard .. I learn some skills..I learnt web design.. Digital marketing some different skills..I earn some regular money now by myself..not much but I earn..
But now still I am not able to control and again I started loosing the money which I earn...
I dont know what can I do to stop it....
I want to do various things in my life with my earned money..I want to travel I want to spend money on girls I want to enjoy... But I am not able to leave it..whatever small amount I earn instead of collecting it I think to double and triple it but again and again I am loosing all my saving. Since last 4-5 months of my work I have saved nothing and again loosing all in gambling.
Please some one seriously guide me on this.
It is sad to hear this but at least you want to do something about which is the first step, in my opinion you need professional help, but also you need to understand that this is going to be a struggle for the rest of your life, what I mean by this is that the recovery will take a long time, most likely a year, and even then there are going to be temptations for you to gamble again, similar to what happens to those that want to stop drinking and smoking, and you will need to control those impulses, there is a difficult road ahead of you but at the same time it is one worth taking so do not give up no matter how difficult it may seem.

Your situation is beyond the limit of addiction ,all you can do is entrust your money to the people closest to you ! You are not allowed to hold any money except for food or other essential needs ,surely one day there will be a turbulent feeling to gamble but switch those feelings to other entertainment that has fun too ,such as watching movies or enjoying the nature around of you Fight the habit by trying something new but also fun !

The first step towards stopping is being able to forgive yourself for the wasted money you spent in the past - it's all gone and you've seen that gambling will not earn you any money back as a long term pursuit. I cannot tell your living conditions, but the way you describe working is as if you are earning a casual side income, but you might need to go out there and get a regular job before you can appreciate how hard it is to earn money. You are currently in the mindset that you can quickly turn a small amount into a large sum, but there are no shortcuts in life. If you want to gamble, buy a single lottery ticket each month and that is all you will allow to satisfy that urge, it might help you keep that dream alive but can help you stop wasting all your savings.

If you want to stop/control your gambling addiction you must learn first to control yourself.Avoid going into some places and any other activities which is related in gambling. You must find a better way or things without destroying yourself. Change your bad habits into something that is good where gambling is no longer serves your new purpose and intentions. I know it is hard but you will be a better person once you accomplished it. Smiley

Gambling is just an entertainment. It is not bad as long as you know how to limit yourself. Sometimes it is not about gambling that makes it wrong it is about a person who does not have self discipline and self control.

You've gone beyond the level. Maybe you need to spend some good time with friends and family. In specific I suggest you to have a companion with you 24x7 that restrict you from gambling. Maybe this can be disturbing for few weeks, but during the same time you can deviate your focus on something else which brings in money or some earning.

As far as I know there are several options and I have summarized them into 4 options that you can practice or get used to to minimize excessive gambling addiction.
First: build sincere intentions and stop gambling completely. Because this is the most important maturity of intention.

Second: Keep yourself busy with positive work like you have done web design and so on. Or you can add a more hectic schedule so you don't touch the casino for a week (which is done periodically).

Third: if you feel in the week visiting the casino almost every day, try to reduce it to 2 days a week.

And fourth: visiting a psychiatrist to get guidance to be free from gambling addiction. Because this is usually much more effective, apart from being guided to do other activities, such as mental therapy, you will also be guided to find out the bad effects of addiction with a psychologist.

whatever small amount I earn instead of collecting it I think to double and triple it but again and again I am loosing all my saving. Since last 4-5 months of my work I have saved nothing and again loosing all in gambling.

I think that - at least for the start - you need help from a friend or family that will handle the money for you and leave on your hand only very small amounts (he/she will have to know about your problem).
This means that he/she will get your full income and will give you some sort of daily "allowance" from your money for your needs. This way you cannot spend too much on gambling.
Of course, you will not be allowed to use credit cards or lent money.

You have to go out more. You have to find other ways to have fun. And you also have to understand that gambling is not a way to make money, it's a way to spend time (and obviously money).
You may need professional help too (psychologist).

It seems he badly needs help, he needs to ask assistance from a very close friend or family member.
Who knows his battles in gambling and has genuine intention to help his struggles.
Also, the OP should ask himself, why he keeps on coming back to his gambling activities?
Strong will  power and sheer determination are needed here to change his lifestyle.
Easy to say but hard to implement on yourself. But you need to find the root cause why you can't stop.
As suggested above, look for other activities that you think you can be busy of and forget the time.
Only you can start the change. Others are only accessories to your change of lifestyle.

the urge to change only you can do that. I have been to the rehabilitation center in my city several times and found that those who do not have a strong will to change will never change and will always be trapped in their addiction circle. Gambling is not a bad thing as long as you are able to control your desire to gamble beyond your capabilities. I am also very happy with sports betting but I can control myself and only bet within my limits.
