Hello everyone,

This is only my second post, and I am not a techie, so please forgive my ignorance if I ask the wrong question Smiley

I am an author and about to publish the first 6 (of 12) chapters of my first book to Amazon. That's all set up and seems to be fine.

However, I'd also like to establish a way that Bitcoin-buyers could read my book. I don't think this can be done directly through Amazon, so can anyone suggest a way that I can do this? I am not techically confident enough to set up a personal website with a Bitcoin pay function.

Thanks for any advice.

Ist.

The answer is simpler than the question.

Create a PDF file and upload it to PPD sites or simple vendor sites that pay you in bitcoin /download.

I use https://www.btcdlc.com (i`m not affiliated with them) , very nice place to sell stuff online. However there are plenty of others, just google it.

Using the NXT marketplace is a relative easy way to publish an ebook. Besides Amazon you might wanna try that too.

https://nxtforum.org/ebooks/

I doubt a lot of people actually visit the NXT marketplace, and in a way it will probably lead to lesser number of sales

That's why I said "Besides Amazon you might wanna try that too" On more place to sell shouldn't hurt Smiley.

Maybe you should promote the book directly on this forum, it has a lot of support for book publishers and will definitely attract attention of the bitcoiners.

You said you're not a techie so how can you make sure you can fully understand what Bitcoin is and write it down in your book?

However, I'd also like to establish a way that Bitcoin-buyers could read my book.

Build your own site for you book, and cooperate with Bitpay to make Bitcoin payment system happen or you can just handle the orders by yourself.

Just create a site using Wordpress and use something like Coinbase to accept payments. Verify the payments and send out the books.

There are also automated ways, and I believe woocommerce (WP plugin) allows this to be automated and should be easy to set up.

Publish your book on Google Play
https://play.google.com/books/publish

It has potential there.

but they don't accept BTC as far I know

No they don't. It's still better to upload to most stores if possible, you'd get more attention.

You may publish the book for free and ask for ChangeTip. AFAIK Andreas Antonopoulos is now doing the same with his book Mastering Bitcoin.

You could suggest that potential readers buy it with a Amazon gift card.

But very honestly - if you want to attract the bitcoin market, I'd publish it for free or very cheap and put a big QR code in the back cover, so that all can donate quickly Smiley

Publishing for free for tips seems like it would work better in the Bitcoin universe. But I do want to publish on Amazon for a price, so I am not sure how it would square if I give it away somewhere else :/ Gonna need to think about it a little, and see what ideas I come up with. I have at least 4-6 weeks before I am ready to publish anyhow, so I have a little time.

Try using http://satoshibox.com. It is very easy to use all you need is upload your ebook and send your links to potential buyers. They can't download it if they didn't pay.

Also try cryptothrift.com I saw some books has been sold there.
seconding this , op should use all possible websites tho , will generate a better revenue : ) i also belive satoshibox takes close to no fee's while the other websites take quite some.

Hello folks,

Sorry for such a delayed response, but I haven't had as much free time as I would like! Smiley

I've been looking at options, and I do like the look of Satoshibox, I have to say. I'm going to check that out in greater detail for sure.

Thank you all for your kind suggestions!

you can also design a website or weblog if you can to sell it yourself and advertise it. anyway i think it would be a good idea if you introduce/advertise it on reddit too.

I would recommend satoshi box as well. They have a good interface for selling digital products. You can also just set up a blog or something and put in a bitcoin button.

A really easy way would be to sell on an auction site like https://cryptothrift.com/

Fairly sure they've got digital download section but you'd have to check it out for yourself.

Hey thank you Polar! Checking it out now!

Had another look at the site. They take 10% fee from your set price and settle payments monthly.
http://bitbooks.co/author-faq/

There aren't any books there and They don't do much marketing. You will have to promote the book yourself and link to them.
