You're somehow right but have seen alot of gamblers which didn't save any money while he's winning. However, ones can still save money while gambling either when in winning or losing state but ones need to first understand the level of ones buzz in other to trigger the right strategy to use to save money.

Don’t expect too much because it does not make any sense when you are gambling and thinking to save money at the same time. If you are a money-lover then you should not start gambling with your money instead you will use your money in a source other than gambling. In my opinion, it is very impossible to save while gambling not unless you are lucky and won big time and also if you have self control because if you have self control after you won big time then you’ll be able to save up not only your deposit money but also some of your profits but if you don’t have self control and you let your excitement take over, tendency is you’ll bet everything and there are only two possibilities, 1. You will win again which is good or 2. You will lose which is stressful because not only you lose your profit but also your deposit money.

You can only save when you pay yourself first and then save before spending on stuff. Upon receiving your paycheck, set aside the money to be used for paying for essentials (food, utilities, rent), then set aside the money for savings. Then allocate the remaining money. Whatever is allocated to entertainment is what's to be used for gambling and that's the only money you can use to gamble.
