There can be plenty of signs when someone is addicted to gambling. They may not see it themselves or think that they are not addicted but it is in their unconscious mind. Now here are some of the things you can see in an addicted gambler(only things i know):
1. The person sets a limit of the only amount he wants to gamble but then loses control and spend more than the limit he has set. Or worse doesn't even set a limit.
2. The person is more likely to have mood swings or is irritated so easily when unable to gamble.
3. The person Can't live a day without gambling.
4. Willing to sacrifice time with loved ones just to gamble.
5. Selling anything of value despite how mich it is needed to sustain his gambling life.
6. Finally, insomnia due to overloading thoughts of gambling when lying in bed and doing nothing.
Those are what i see in most addicted gamblers(some are close friends).
You listed characteristics that addiction gambler have after years of addiction. I think creator of this thread wanted to hear early signs of
gambling addiction.
Early signs of gambling addiction are forgetting about important things in your life cause of gambling, in beginning you miss important
things but how addiction progress you missing more and more life obligations cause of gambling, forgetting appointments or dates. Intense
bragging about winning at gambling, and that is become main topic, everything else is not interesting more.
If anything from this happening to you, you are in early stage of gambling addiction. You still did not start to borrow money for gambling,
you sleep nice, you do not have problems cause of gambling yet, but that will come if you continue with same activities.
