My first defeat was not too painful, because before the first defeat happened I had felt previous victories, and usually at the beginning of gambling people will be given victory many times and that's what I felt at that time. But over time when I gambled often, the defeats I got were more than the victories I got, and it was very painful, but I kept gambling because I felt like I couldn't accept experiencing continuous defeats which made me continue to gamble just to chase the defeat. And actually that kind of attitude will only make me lose more, but over time I realized even though it was too late at least I realized that gambling excessively is not good and must play with full awareness in order to have the ability to control yourself and also control your emotions so that you are aware to stop when you experience several defeats and also stop when you are in a winning position and turn into a responsible gambler.

The very first loss that a gambler will make is a reminder that gambling is not a bed of roses and something that there is always the assurance of profiting from. Losing from gambling is a reminder that you could also lose a lot of money if you are careless and irresponsible about your gambling habits. It will be better for a new gambler to experience losses early in gambling, than having a series of win. A series of winning will make a new gambler over confident or to start becoming dependent on gambling as a way to raise money. 
My first day of gambling was a mess to me because I run at big loss. The reason is because I lost my first game and I was scared of letting go of my loss, so I started gambling to win back my losse.Unfortunately, I lost all the funds on me that day and I didn't try to gamble anymore.
It was a bad experience, because the money wasn't mine but for my mom and when I got home, I had face to the wrath of my Dad for my actions.

First time gamblers would definitely felt the same way after a first loss, disappointed and sad, but as we go on gambling, we tend to be more open and accept the fact that losses are already part in gambling. If you don’t lose, you will never boost yourself to bet more not only to recover your losses, but also to chase bigger winning amount.

When I first got to know gambling, I probably lost more than I won. There was a feeling of despair and a feeling of wanting to run and never return to gambling. However, the feeling of wanting to stop was defeated by the curiosity to win a game with high results. Although until now I have never gotten a big jackpot, I still play regularly.

Definitely anyone that lost in gambling for the first time may not feel good. I won my first bets. It made me thought that betting will be easy. I increased the money to bet again in the next day. I lost the bet. I did not like that moment. But I decide to continue to bet and I lost more than I won. I have to stop wasting money on gambling as I know it is the opposite that was happening to me. This was a long time ago.

Not really bad for me as a first experience a string of winnings on my first day of losses before suffering my first loss, Losing is normal in gambling; only newbies feel that they are not supposed to lose or they are hurt to get losses.
Losses are something we must be aware of and something we should address to ourselves if we are involved in gambling, We should be playing money that we are comfortable of losing; this is the right mindset if we don't want to experience bad losses.
It's always a norm to feel bad when you lose in gambling but whene it comes to your first gamble and you loss it's one big feelings of disappointment that comes in because you were never acquainted with the basic knowledge of gambling that's why you feel bad you perhaps we risk the little we have trying to double it during our first attempt.
If we knew what it takes to gamble then we wouldn't ever be so depressed and disappointed during our first attempt, I believe we go all in thinking we can achieve much greater profit with just our first attempt.

The first loss in gambling happened in Dice, and the platform I used was directbet.eu, which isn't in existence anymore. The bet was just $2, and the first bet of mine in Sportsbet was on tennis. The bet value was $5, and I won the bet. Slowly my interest increased in sports betting, and gradually I started to make more and more. At some point I was able to bet as high as $300, and I had 2.5BTC in my wallet. Beyond a certain point, my bets didn't bring me success, and lost everything and went beyond my limits.
My first experience gambling was on sport bet and luckily and surprisingly I won my first ever bet, I will say I made sure I played very safe. I was thrilled by the winning and if I had lost that first time I may have not gone back to it. The euphoria of my winning gingered me to play more, I lot my next bet but I did not feel to bad because I was very close to winning so since then I have continued.
So I can say my first lost in gambling did not feel to bad because I was coming from the joy of winning my first game so the first lose didn't not affect me negatively and I did not think much of it and just moved on quickly looking for my next win.

From my experience the first loss is not usually the most painful because you have no frame of reference so compare it to. However when you experience your second loss and you compare it to the first loss, the pain starts to set in. You will be thinking things like, "I didn't lose this much compared to the first time" . You'll be doing some mathematical calculations to check the variance between the first and second loss. This was my experience.

I'm frustrated and want to learn to beat the house because I felt dumb for losing.
I did learn about the games I played, it improve me to be better and increase the chance to win, but it's still not enough to beat the house. After many years I have learn if gambling is only for fun, so I'm not going hard to myself anymore.
If I want to make more money, I should build my career or start a business, not gambling.

Your scenario is quite similar to mine because as I could clearly recount, my first experience was same way with the expectation until I tried to sleep but couldn't because the games were still on. I haven't even sleep so deep before waking up to check the games I placed a bet on. Well, I lost with several games just minutes into the game and was so devastated that I didn't place any bet or even bother to visit the betting house for a long time.
It was until the emergence of online gambling and the fact that almost every male friend I had placed a bet and shared the code, that I started gambling again.
