Luckily my situation is not like what op felt, when I first gambled I only used a little money and of course in my mind when I lost it made me more curious instead of being disappointed I became more curious and I have been down in defeat but not the beginning

Actually, the day I started gambling, I was filled with so much anticipation to know what the result would be and before then I was already planning on how and things I will spend my winning on my needs but disappointedly the game didn't play out successfully. After I lost that bet, I felt I would have even used the money to do some important stuff rather lose it.

It took me some times to understand how gambling really work but lately I saw a young guy complaining on how he lost a lot of money on he first day of trying out gambling. It's reminded me of how I felt too back then. So, how did you guys felt on your first lose?
The worst thing was that I gambled with contributions Money for the first time and I lost everything as an undergraduate then, that loss hit me dip and it took me a long to recover from the shock because I never thought that I would lose 100% of my money and to say I was confident in the game's because it was given out as a sure bet, and we even subscribed to get the bet tickets, this was a double calamity for me since I was scammed to believe in sure games and even paid to get those games and at the end, I lost everything.

This incident made me take a long break from gambling and even at some level hard to properly learn about gambling before coming back to it again because I need all the information that can sustain me through a d with that knowledge, I understand that gambling is all about win and lose so my ability to guide myself around that reality is my utmost responsibility now.

So, how did you guys felt on your first lose?

My first lose in gambling was not really that painful for me because it was the first day I had attempted to gamble and it didn't turn out well. As a result, it took me a lot of time to want to give it a trial again. I guess getting involved at that time was not the best for me.

I don't remember what I felt but probably sad and having regrets(which is a very common emotion to have when someone loses in gambling), also I know this makes no sense but I was probably thinking that I should have put my bet on the winning result, I used to have thoughts like that in the early days of my gambling.

I understand that kind of feeling. I also experienced feelings of regrets for placing the wrong bets anytime and always wished I had done it a different way. It was always a case of I should have applied that and not this and I felt bitter in my subsequent failures unlike the first one.

The way you felt on your first day of gambling is exactly how I felt. I imagined what I would do if my bets turned out as I had predicted, but I was left feeling disappointed when my expectations didn’t materialize. This caused me to figure out a way to follow up on gambling.

However, these experiences are common for most gamblers at the beginning. Over time, they come to realize that they shouldn’t have high hopes for gambling, as it ultimately comes down to luck. You bet and lose some of your bets but keep in mind that the losing is way bigger than the winning.

To be honest first loss not hurt me. because firstly i never take gambling as a source of income. i just enjoy gambling and i know i have to accept loss. So I gamble with my full responsibility. Gambling is a lot of fun but many choose it as a source of income and it hurts them a lot when they lose gambling. Gambling has now become like any other common game, everyone from small children to adults gamble.  So, now gambling loss seems very normal to me

My first loss in gambling wasn't much of a disappointment, I knew a bit of how good enough that will save me from staking too much of my money because a few people around me had been on it and losing massively, lessons are learnt not always from experience. I have gambled in so many ways including directly and indirectly, while as a newbie in gambling it was more of a fun experience than what I do now, at this level I always get the finest urge not to lose but make profits instead.

I have played slots a few times and did not feel good after losing money, I did not lose a big sum, but I was not happy, which makes me to just imagine how those who have lost more money to gambling will feel. I guess it is a feeling that they get used to later, and it only hurts the most in the first time when you just lost. If there is any gambler that is finding it difficult getting used to the losses in gambling, then maybe gambling is not meant for them.

From my experience the first loss is not usually the most painful because you have no frame of reference so compare it to. However when you experience your second loss and you compare it to the first loss, the pain starts to set in. You will be thinking things like, "I didn't lose this much compared to the first time" . You'll be doing some mathematical calculations to check the variance between the first and second loss. This was my experience.
Yes that's quite true. First losses are actually quite painful especially when you've actually won a series of times especially consecutively and then boom you probably play a single game that takes say half at first and then you are like you decide to go all in and end up losing it all.
I think one of the mind blowing things is that before the huge losses, along the line you may have likely beat your chest and be like I've actually found a pattern that works with high probability of winning on this game shortly before your confidence is blown away by the losses.

I can’t really remember how I felt after my first loss, but as a newbie in gambling, how are you going to deposit and gamble with a huge amount of money on your first bet? That doesn’t really make sense to me. If you are starting anything, it should be with a little amount of money, the more you get to understand it, the more you keep on increasing the amount you are using, but how will you start gambling, and you will do it with a big amount of money? It’s totally wrong.

It’s just obvious that the person’s expectation was already so high, and people like this do easily get addicted to gambling. Maybe he decided to start gambling due to testimonies from people, and maybe he has been brainwashed that he will be winning easily if he starts gambling, and he decides to jump into it but doesn’t understand that things don’t work like that.

The first defeat is a result that seems more disappointing, but on the other hand I think it also depends on whether from the beginning you know and understand what and how gambling really is or not, if not at all then that means from the beginning you have the wrong perspective on gambling, most likely the disappointment after experiencing the defeat occurs because maybe you think that gambling will be able to give you a number of wins or you put unrealistic expectations on the activity. But I think most likely most gamblers come with the wrong mindset and perspective on gambling including myself which I was the same when experiencing defeat was quite disappointing, but one thing that if you are able to learn from experience and experience tells you about what and how gambling really is then defeat should no longer be something disappointing for you because it is clear that defeat will always be part of the game.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
The first time I lost gambling, for me it was normal because the beginning was just to try the game with a little money ready to lose, so this was not a big frustration, the first loss in gambling for me was normal.

But once experienced severe pressure where the beginning won in a row because of the belief that it would definitely win, then deposited a large amount of money in the hope of winning and from the winnings could be used for other purposes, the result became fatal because it lost, emotions became uncontrollable.

At that time I had a difficult time in the sense of irresponsibility in gambling and no discipline in money management for bankroll.

But now I can overcome it.

Mine was quite the opposite, my first gambling experience was a huge success, I never really expected it would turn out that way, that was in my first year in College, I was literally out of cash that day and was left with only a few bucks and my roommates came to me, telling me they bought a fixed game and assured me the game would be successful, honestly I knew nothing about gambling back then but I was willing to take the risk even after much dissuading from other of my classmates who knew a thing or two about the unpredictability of gambling, but I ignored them and gave out my last bucks to them, although I didn’t really expect much but fortunately for me, it was a huge success and I got over 20X the initial amount I gave them.

It was like easy money and that was what really attracted me to gambling and see the possibilities of easy profits in gambling, and trust me I paid dearly for that misconception  Grin but along the line I became wiser.

Human beings do loves money and there's no doubt with that, so it will really be just that a very common reaction that we would really be getting sad on the time or moment that we will really be losing up money
on the moment that we do play gambling or any other means or stuffs that you are really that dealing into. Whenever you are on a losing condition then this is where emotions will really be starting to wind up.
You will really be starting on molding up those kind of mindset that you do need to recover up those loses back via playing even further. If you are someone whose really that not good when it comes to emotion
handling then it is really that most likely you will come up with different actions or decisions to be made.

Feeling up will really be that something negative because just like on what have been said that we dont really like on losing money and thats why it will really be just that coming up with those
realizations at least on what we are dealing into. The important thing is that you shouldn't really be that making yourself impulsive at the time that you are losing. Decisions will really be made up
whether you would really be that accepting those loses and move on and continue on what you are doing as long you are in that limit in terms of bankroll management and dont tend to decide
on making up some more deposits then you are just fine.

The first loss is always a big lesson and many people have experienced their first loss and were in a state of shock and had I know kind of impression. The first loss will either make you feel like giving up or trying to make things right by continuing and not giving up so suddenly. It depends on the person that’s handling the loss that can tell more how they can hold on to such even in the future.

It’s a game of risk, and your first loss is an invitation to what you should be expecting at anytime as your continue to gamble. No risk without gain if you’re good at what you’re doing even though it happens to be a game of luck and not really a game of knowledge as some people may see it. Losses are inevitable, and the first loss impression is always an experience of what to expect later which may come bigger or lesser. The earlier you’re prepared for it the better.

So what was he expecting in the first place, or did he forget in gambling it's outcome is usually a 50/50 percent chance, for him to have wagered a huge sum of money he can't afford to lose on his first day of gambling. Because probably, this is literally a result of wrong or no orientation about what gambling stands for. Because I can vividly remember my days as a newbie, how I fell into many telegram fixed match scams, which I borrowed money, bought fixed match games, wagered with huge sum and ended up losing all, simply because I was naive and never had proper orientation. Hence, it's good as he learnt the hard way, experience is indeed a good teacher.

I don't know if anyone will feel happy after a loss! It's obviously a sad moment. I mean who would want to loose money?

I am thankful that I am able to control my gambling urges. So I am able to control my losses. That's why I have never seen a huge loss ever in my life from gambling. I just stop gambling if I start loosing money. I don't ever try to recover my lost money from gambling itself. Such kind of behaviour usually leads to more losses. So self control is the key here!

It is natural to have a little regret about the first loss in gambling. Although when I lost my first gamble, I was not very disappointed, but I thought that if I could have used my strategy correctly, I could have won there because i like sports betting. I usually bet with an amount of money that I would not have any problems if I lost. That is why I was not very excited about the first loss. I was most excited when I lost a big bet because I had a chance to win there but it did not happen finally. In many cases, the feeling of losing the first bet may be different. There are many gamblers who are very enthusiastic and set large amount on the first bet, which creates a big problem for them later.

I’m quite surprised that you all were able to recall exactly how you felt during your first lost in gambling - I can’t really recall everything and I’m not even sure if this is for the first time I lost or if it was just some random moment in my gambling history but I do remember being over confident in the game and made plans on how I’ll keep my analysis going so that I can increase the money to a larger amount but when it came out it wasn’t what I expected.

I know I’ve felt that way once in my life and it was a very long time so it’s most likely the first game I lost or a game I played very close to that period -  because my first game in gambling was a win and that boosted my confidence that I was a good analyst till I finally lost an amount that wasn’t supposed to be for gambling because I thought I would be able to double it.

Loosing to me is just like every other days that you try to make good out of your efforts and just as said when you loose keep trying and eventually one day you'll hit the actual spot of your labours but in gambling is definitely not same as this cause a first time loss would be like loosing something you've ever worked for and when I got my first loss it was normal to me.
