You are not going to believe me, but my first coin was buyed on EBAY and paid with PAYPAL at 18 € when the price on MTGOX was 14  (And I believed I will never recover the cost of the commission I had paid ... I would had to buy a few thousand bitcoins then... )

What happened if you bought a few thousand?

I purchased mine through Coinbase. I purchased just 1 coin at about $88 , had to wait 5 days before I got it.. I admit I was a little nervous. Then I lost it a week later to satoshidice. This was right before the price hike to $250. I was kicking myself.

Haha, i can believe that. Though you would be silly to be on the sellers end since you can just reverse the payment as you see fit and probably get away with your money and a free bitcoin.

Silly, honest, who knows.

Bought from a local online store. Used for buying an AirVPN subscription. I was thinking about adding funds to my PayPal account but then I thought about how bad PayPal actually is (almost all my transactions took over three days for some reason) and tried Bitcoins. And actually it works really well.

I mined bitcoins on my 6950 about 2 years ago in an hour on bitcoin.cz i think it was. I was mining like ~1 a day so it was hardly worth my time back then. I didn't even know about the implications that it would have nor did i understand how it worked. Boy do i regret it now!

Now i mine with multiple rigs.
