I started about 10 years ago with stocks. It was basically 2009 and it was the bottom of the market. So you could of been the worst trader in the world but as long as you went long (instead of short) you could of made money on anything.

It went fine for a year or so but later the markets started going choppy and basically I was just wasting money on commissions and spreads. So I bought eBooks, PDFs, courses, signal services, DVDs, etc and basically it taught me the basics like "What does shorting a stock mean" or "What is a call option" however it didn't actually teach you to trade.

What taught me to trade was more or less trial and error and basically experience. These days trading for me is like riding a bike. I just set a limit order, along with a take profit and a stop loss and get on with my life. Some trades work, some trades don't, but with my risk reward I always come out a head.

Just keep in mind. Trading isn't for everybody. It seems easy and the greed is there. But keep in mind you need money to make money. So if you lose it, it's gone for good. You won't get it back. It's not like a regular job where your boss has to pay you as long as you show up.

I started paper trading using Bitfinex as an exchange for statistics, and just bought and sold BTC and ETH on paper 20-40 times per week, and didn't do any trades til I started making profit consistently.. its still somewhat hard of a transition to real money though because discipline can fall apart really quickly when real money is involved, because its so emotional.  But paper trading helped me objectively understand areas to buy and sell and areas to avoid, and learning the patience that it takes to turn profit.   I feel like a trader's worst nightmare is being bored, because you will do stupid trades just to have something to do... if not trading be learning, or avoiding trading and crypto altogether to do something else.

I mainly taught myself reading and analyzing articles and spending time in trading platforms. You can find a lot of helpful articles and websites on the internet. Don't jump straight into trading without proper knowledge.

The first and foremost is the desire to be a trader and using trading as your business. After this desire then you must find a trainer on trading which you can get through personal contact or on internet. You can search the goggle for a clue on who can willingly coach and mentor you on line some will come with a little charge  fee  and others will charge nothing but will be willing to help. You can have a look at this e-book on trading here: www.babypips.com It is well elaborate for quick and easy absorption.

The only experience that I have got from the trading is, you should not be selling the Cypriot when the crypto currencies are actually entering the bear market. The sell should occur at the bull trend and not the other way around. If you have missed the train of trading like that then surely go for the holding and long term trading only. Because the only way to recover from the loss occurred in such way is to hodl whatever you have with you. With the time you can change the trade according to the way market is moving. You should always be liquid with your trades and always make the decisions with at most care. Then you can see yourself how the trades are working best for you.

My experience in trading can not really be proud of haha. I only trade when I have tokens which sufficiently can be converted to cash because many of them only worth little so I wait until its worth to pay for txn fees for a cashout.

Almost a year ago since I started using cryptocurrencies to make money. At first, I have no any funds to start trading and investments on any projects, I started on doing bounties and airdrops , I earned rewards through doing my works and the rewards I received I used for trading and investing cryptocurrencies. I read articles and asked for some advice in other people , just to gain more knowledge in investing.

Haha, I dont remember using any guide or help to do my first trade. It was more or like slow, scared first purchase of my trading asset on the poloniex when I initiated my first trading. The coin that I started with was ETH/BTC pair because that was the only coin that I used to trust the most. Also had no knowledge about altcoin so there was no question about the use of them for trading. However, slowly I started with them too when I achieved some confidence and actual gravity of doing the crypto trades.

It was rather by accident.  I have some experience trading equity and stock.  I learnt about cryptocurrency and I was looking for how to keep my coin safe and somehow,  I stumble upon bittrex and poloniex, the rest is history now!

Hello traders!

I would like to know how you started trading?

How I started...... I had a friend who played online poker on this site called Seals With Clubs. It was a BTC-only site. He sent us some coins so we could get a regular poker game going. Eventually our game died but I still had a bunch of coins. When the 2013 bubble got going, some guy at work mentioned BTC and I remembered I still owned some. I immediately sold everything at like $90-$100 because the gains seemed really big at the time.

But then I kept watching the chart. And then I stumbled onto the Speculation forum and started analyzing volume and chart patterns on Clark Moody. I bought back in and the rest is history. I was never a trader until Bitcoin.

Any interesting articles,
videos or guides that you found helpful before you started?

It would be too hard to dig up the stuff I originally studied from. But I would highly recommend familiarizing yourself with Wyckoff analysis.

I will tell you about my first investment in ETH. I am a student at a university and I want to challenge myself by investing to make money from the Crypto market. I have read many books on how to invest properly and the basics to know. When I bought ETH, every theory flew away. I am really worried for my portfolio when it goes down. So experience is that you should start making small investments from now on. accumulate experience and create your own strategy.

From videos you can get the idea about how the trading works when you are newbie but it won't be enough for you so your experience will teach you the real trading and you will be successful when you understand and make changes at what thing you are making mistakes.

Very simple, just bought some coins via ICO and waited for them to get listed over an exchanger. I know that it isn’t proper trade as I am not buying it over trade platform itself but it was how I did for the first time. I started hoarding it over an exchanger and waited for the right price to sell at. This gave me exhausting timeline but over which I learnt many strategies , anyways ended up selling them at loss only. That is how it went for me for the first time.

I would like to suggest all the above because  beginners are must listen the many youtube videos in trading platform then only it will improve the knowledge of crypto trading. Finally all the interested investors are try to buy and sell in small scale trading. It is the main valuable knowledge because others are just a basic criteria of trading so all are must to participate in short term investment.

I started from scratch. First, I was introduced to a investing site called "MMM"

So did i, it was the ponzi biz "MMM" that introduce me to bitcoin and cryptocurrency trading in 2015. After purchasing bitcoin from a friend, I was planning to provide help (PH) on the platform then I saw an announcement informing its user of the sudden rise in bitcoin price. I did some research immediately, same day i created my very first trading account on poloniex & sold my bitcoin to USD then after few days I got 50% increase on my btc capital since then i have been trading & the rest is history Cool

I started from scratch. First, I was introduced to a investing site called "MMM" then I have accumulated Bitcoin there. ( Bitcoin was cheap that day ). Then I was curious about trading and started doing it in Bittrex.

By reading and studying about it at first, just like with any other skill or profession.

Head over to https://lopp.net/bitcoin.html , scroll down and look for the trading section. That should get you started and should keep you busy for a while. Take your time to watch and read them; and don't be too excited. You wouldn't like to learn the hard way.

When you're going to make your first trades, make sure you allocate just a small amount at first. When new to trading, expect losses. Though you can get lucky, don't expect to make profit as a beginner. Only allocate a small amount just so it wouldn't hurt you financially if ever you lose a big percentage of those funds due to bad trades.

Best of luck.

If you are looking for information about basic trading and knowledge, you can used the power of internet as a start e.g Google search or browse videos at popular video platforms e.g Youtube. There are lots of useful resources now available in the world wide web for that kind of concern

I didn't read any articles or guides on how to trade. I just learned it thru self study right directly at trading platform interface. Not a recommended advice but if you will maximized your common sense, it's not quiet difficult to start.

If you are really eager to learned. Help yourself and please spend time reading some sources available in the internet. Kind of spoonfeed if people will give you the direct link of such sources.
