File types are, PNG, GIF, or JPEG. You can't have animated GIF though, theymos mentioned it. The max file size is 100KiB. If your picture is too big, you can use paint to edit it to size(resize it).

Have you read theymos' announcement thread? He stated that animated gifs cannot be uploaded; so, we can safely assume that after the previous hijacking no hidden code exploit can be forwarded by jpegs. Wink

Its turned back on, if you check right now you can actually upload it.

Not sure when this was announced officially? but I guess the changes were today or early morning of today?

That is called 'avatar'. You get enable it from your profile settings.

But it only works for Full Members and above ranks. So you will need to wait a bit.
