Hello. How are you all?  I am new to this forum.  I came to know about bitcoin forum from a friend of mine.  But I don't know much about forums.  What should I do in this situation?  I know about Bounty but I am not interested in Bounty.  How do I start working?  What should I do? I want your help to start my journey-
Thanks-
You are welcome to the forum and I know the members above me already said the necessary think I believe I will also want to tell you, but their is something I don’t understand in your post which i will like to ask you, what do you mean by how will I start working? Do you join the forum here to work or do you join the forum here to learn? Am not saying working is wrong, but to me I believe your primary aim of joining the forum should be to learn, and not to work. If you and not interested in bounty, then you will be interested in signature, but if your main aim of joining the forum is just to work, then you are going to find it difficult to rank up your account so that you will be able to join signature.

I went through your profile and I noticed that your account was created since February, but you only made one post alone, if you want to grow here, make sure you involve yourself in conversations, ask questions about things that you don’t know.

Study the threads in the forum and DYOR. Focus on learning about bitcoin and its crypto market. If you can do your own diligence and explore everything that is listed in the forum, then that would be a lot better. It will give you an advantage knowing you’ve earned adequate knowledge first before you decide to invest. Also, learn from the mistakes of others as what they shared in the forum, so that you can avoid those mistakes and will never do the same mistakes that will lead you to lose and failed in your set goals.

Some persons are only here to earn and the funny thing is that they will not even calm down to learn the necessary things they ought to do and pass through the newbie stage. If op interest is to learn and know more about Bitcoin and the Blockchain, then he would have to keep reading and asking questions about the cryptocurrency market. If the aim is to utilize the forum to earn then he still need to calm down and learn how things work. There are many ways we can earn from Bitcoin or altcoins which includes mining, staking, trading, airdrops, bounty hunting etc.
Knowledge of crypto both technically and in general is unlimited. The OP could ask questions based on what he's interested in, but I wouldn't expect him to focus too much on his plans to make money. Forum and their users can help beginners gain proper knowledge of what they are interested in, but if they don't tell us then surely they will have a hard time getting good guidance.

The main thing for beginners to do is study, it's up to them what their interests are, but the important thing is that they have the good intention of equipping themselves with knowledge instead of money.

Well you're welcome to the forum.
Some of us where newbie's like you, not knowing our left from our right here in the forum, it took us a while to learn more about the forum even though we are still learning even at this stage, so from my own knowledge of the forum,  I would advise you take time to observe the rules of the forum, so that you won't fall fowl of it, always ask necessary questions about things you don't understand on forum.
However this forum will avail you the knowledge you need to understand about bitcoin, ranging from trading, mining, coding etc.

Welcome to the forum, it's a community where you would be privileged to learn everything bitcoin. Start up with a learner's mindset and see the forum as a source of information to your bitcoin journey.

A lot have been stated above about the forum and bitcoin but I do feel a need to bring to your notice about scammers. There may be dubious minded persons that would wanna take advantage of your naivety in the forum by giving you a PM about any bitcoin project or related, pretending to wanna help you. Please do well to avoid such messages or preferably bring such publicly to the forum to ascertain their genuineness. Enjoy your stay in the forum and keep away from plagiarism too.

You have already started your journey on the bitcointalk forum by first registering. Depending on what you want the goals of the most people on this forum can be classified into: learn, networking, and earning. For some it is all of them while for other it is just two of them. Whatever the case may be we are here because of Bitcoin.

Not meant to gatekeep you from the forum, OP but this forum isn't entirely circulating around bounties and this isn't an earning platform like surely some of your "friends" told ya. This is a forum for discussion/s and conversation/s with other users that are interested in crypto.

Think of it as Reddit but the only subs are Bitcoin and altcoins.

Hi mate, welcome to the forum. The only thing you have to do on the forum is to read and see if you can provide an input to it. Do not indulge in creating more threads rather take it as a Twitter account and start posting more replies and understand the context of the topic. Other than that, just follow basic rules and do not spam posts. Quality over quantity should be your goal. Merits are required to rank up, for that you surely need to post good content.
I'm cringing on the Twitter comparison but I agree that it's the closest thing that OP can do in this forum.

To OP, it seems that you want to make money in the forum but it's up to you if it's going to be difficult or not, a lot of the replies have already mentioned that you contribute quality posts more than just pumping out posts or replies so I'm not going to touch too much on that, if you have a marketable skill like graphic design, programming, or other services that has something to do with cryptocurrency or technology, you can check out the Services board, you can post what service you're offering or even reply to those that's looking for services that you might be able to do, or if you are into selling and buying stuff, the Goods board might be a good board for you to explore,  it has 3 sub boards for specific stuff so you will be busy for awhile if you plan to check it. Like any other things, just explore the forum, see how things work and how users interact and you're going to learn along the way.

Here's the link to the Services board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0
Here's the link to the Goods board:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0

You dunno what you want...
You're actually confused and mixing up points as a result of your misconception..what does learning about crypto got to do with bountys and all of those ?? Does that make any detailed fact at all??
You're here on a quest to grow in rank and join a campaign someday - fact or farse?
Pick up the rules and learn on them in your own words, dialect and understanding ... Nothing magical is happening in here - the work you put is actually the outcome you get...stay focused and ALWAYS HAVE A PURPOSE. Good luck!

If you come to the forum solely because of Bounty, you wouldn't go far, in short you will end up spamming your post history with proof of Authentication, Twitter and Facebook links and at the end of the day, you will not learn a single thing in the Forum, all you will be doing is visiting Bounty board, you wouldn't learn anything tangible about Bitcoin not talk more of the forum it's self. It's a good thing that you asked a question so you don't end up like your friend who invited you to the forum.

My advice is this, spend more time in the Forum to understand how the forum works, learn more about Bitcoin and expand your knowledge outside the forum, when you utilize these resources, you will understand Bitcoin better and how to relate will not be a problem to you and how to respond here. Don't hard yourself on it, just be natural and if indeed you are willing to learn, you will grasp basics in short time.
He is not interested in Bounty as you can read from his post. Maybe he is looking for something that pique his interest in Bitcoin. I think he wants to learn more about this forum and also about Bitcoin while earning at the same time. Well, the "proof of authentication" eill indeed flood the post history but it doesn't mean a bounty hunter won't be able to learn. They wouldn't be joining bounties if they didn't learn at all but the difference is that most bounty hunters doesn't care about the post quality, board or threads where they post just to meet the requirements or quota. I did participate in bounties before but I did learn too and that was before though.

Bitcointalk forum contains general discussion all about bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market, and since it’s a productive and educative forum, members will consistently learn all the relevant topics that will contribute to the bitcoin ecosystem. And by learning, you have to do your due diligence to research and study the forum because this is the only way to gain adequate knowledge and even skills later on. If you can do that, then expect a high rate of success when you decide to invest and trade with crypto.

There is nothing wrong with knowing both Bitcoin and bitcointalk at the same time and, this forum will speed up your learning process in Bitcoin because this forum is a Bitcoin discussion forum and at that,  you can ask whatever questions and engage in discussions that will expand your knowledge.

First, you have to make sure to have read the forum rules and make sure to abide by them,  and in no time you will build a basic knowledge that will guide you on your journey ahead.

I would love to help you out but you should be more specific about your journey. Like, what type of journey, Are you want to earn money here or do you want to learn about crypto here? Or are you interested only in BTC or ALTs? Or do you want to learn the technicalities of blockchain and wallets? Or you just want to join the local community. Well, I think answers to all the queries will be --> Be active on all threads, to learn the topics you want. If you wanted to earn money then joining signature campaigns is the best option otherwise you are already familiar with the bounty work.

My recommendation is, do not to waste too much time on bounties only. Because i have also spent a lot of time on bounties and did not earn that much amount which i just earned from signature campaigns. But you have to be legit and should contribute to the forum by any means. Once you started to spend some time here, you will learn automatically which is best for you and which thread you will like the most, i did not like the gambling thread specifically, of course, Off-Topic and archive is also on my unfavourite list. So, i hope you will find you too.

Having a successful career on the forum like increasing your ranks by gaining merits can be done but not with you focused on bounties. Bounties aren't a bad thing but it has been associated with spammers and might make you not to be taken seriously if you're found out to be a bounty hunter. If you want to grow, focus all your attention by contributing on quality discussion on the forum and your works will be rewarded. You can boost your grown on the forum by equipping yourself on Bitcoin related topic. Make your research and get to learn things about Bitcoin as that'll help you in your contributions on the forum so you won't be sounding dumb.

Don't be like most newbies that just start contributing to discussion on the forum without having an idea of what they're talking about. Your early days or weeks on the forum should be used for reading and learning instead of trying to engage in discussion you have no idea about. Bitcoin is different, the forum is different and bounty is also different don't mixed them all up. Use the forum in asking questions to clear your understanding on Bitcoin (that's after you have googled but yet didn't understand what you read),

How do I start working?  What should I do? I want your help to start my journey-

This forum wasn't created for providing people with jobs, it was created to discuss Bitcoin. There is a Services board where you can offer your services or contact someone who offers a job. But there are other, often more efficient, ways to find Bitcoin jobs - specialized bitcoin jobs platforms or even mainstream platforms. The only unique thing about Bitcointalk is signature campaigns, but you shouldn't view them as a job. It's more of a side opportunity for experienced forum members, because it requires significant effort to get to the level where you can join a campaign, and there are lots of better ways to spend your time than to try to become a professional forum poster.

It depends on your ambition, as someone that kicked off a journey you have to know your objectives while you are here, secondly, you said you know Bounty very well that means you know about bitcoin as well, but I will like to advice you to learn from the senior colleagues if really you are not an alt, just read across the board and mostly the pinned posts it will enable you to learn and understand some certain things of the forum, but I'm not convinced too well that you are a newbie.
I myself am not convinced OP is a new bie from what op had said. The way OP introduced him/ herself, I was wondering too but all the same,  I think what you have said to OP should be able to put OP up and doing on this platform only if OP is determined and focused to do so as he has said. Following forum policies and guidelines would also aid OP a bit too.
It's known to me that some people claims they are newbie while they are not, because from my understanding its very obvious that we have numerous alt that is operating in the name of newbie, so if op is really new and it doesn't know what's obtainable in the forum as well the rules and regulations of forum it will be desperate to read the rules of forum and also read in link drop by senior colleagues in able to acquire an advanced knowledge of the forum and also cryptocurrency and bitcoin especially the protocols or the rudiments of the system.

since you are not interested in doing bounty campaigns(which I think would be good since it is usually a waste of time), you can start your own service, I mean create a thread and offer a service/skills and ask to be paid in bitcoin. but if you don't have services/skills you can offer, you can build up your account and join a signature campaign in the future(which I would assume you are interested in). but before all that, it would be better to familiarize yourself with the forum. you can check out the links the members have shared for that.

Feel free to explore the forum first and study every topic that has gained your personal interest. I believe if you do that, you will be more motivated to learn until you realize that staying in the forum is a lot more fun and exciting while learning a lot about crypto and Bitcoin. And if you have spare money to invest later on, then take some risk too aside from taking part in signature campaigns that are paying a good amount. My only advice is just enjoy the forum, and never be pressured on when to make profits. You will have more opportunities to earn profits later on after you've gained personal knowledge and skills in the forum.

OP read the threads that have been given to you. You’re not the first newbie that was introduced to the forum as a means of earning bitcoins, some chose that path and spend all their time here on bounty section while others took the bold step to explore the forum and become a part of it. Since you know about bounties, I’m assuming your friend may have told you half the story and left the important parts out so I’m going to be the one to break the news to you. Bitcointalk is a bitcoin discussion based forum, while members can earn from signature campaigns, bounties and contests, you’d have to first grow your account to a high rank before you can enroll in campaigns. To do that, you need merit, which brings us back to the links given above.

That way, you will be more guided on what options to take in the future after you have gained adequate knowledge and skills from studying the forum. You have made intention known in the forum. From what you said, you are here to work and not to learn. I don't think anyone here will tell you how to work here except you are here to learn more about bitcoin and it blockchain network. But do you know bitcoin before, if yes then you have to read the forum guidelines which the rules and regulations so that you will violate the rules.

You are welcome to the bitcoin forum.

What you need is to acquire knowledge first and focus on studying the threads in the forum because that will help you realize your real purpose in the forum. Do not think of working or investing for quick profits because you will only fail in the end and your money and efforts will definitely go into waste.

Welcome to bitcointalk platform. Your friend did very well introducing you here. I believe you will utilize this opportunity and make good use of it here in building yourself since you have no knowledge about bitcoin and this platform.

At first, it will be in your own best interest to learn first. When I mean learning, I mean you taking out time to study how things are done here. Just as you have asked this question, you can as well ask others too to learn more. There are pinned post on any board you enter. Do well to read them all as that would guide you on that particular board.

There is also local board here where you can meet with your country men and women. There you can enteract and communicate with them at same level. I believe you could learn very fast from them together with the links already given you here by members.

Lastly,  you  should focus on growing yourself here first before any other thoughts because only then you can be able to grow very well making valuable contributions and adding more value to the platform by doing so, you can earn merit which will make it possible for you to rank up and earn as you plan to.

Welcome to the Bitcointalk forum, dude. I am confident that you will never be sorry for joining this fantastic forum.

Since you were introduced here by your friend, who is a bounty hunter, as you said, I am sure he has explained some basic rules guiding this forum for you, although I can see that you have been provided with so many links that are very useful if you go through them one after another because that is all you need right now.

Bounty hunters are accustomed to copying and pasting stuff from social media platforms. I hope your friend informed you that copying and pasting (plagiarism) is not permitted in this forum, and you will be banned if you are caught. As a result, avoid plagiarism because it is a serious offence on this forum.

Furthermore, if you focus on making money, you will not learn anything here; therefore, I recommend that you focus on learning everything you can about Bitcoin in order to achieve your aim of joining this community.

Welcome to bitcointalk.org popularly known as Forum. I can presume from your username you're crypto enthusiast, isn't it? Grin glad to tell you that you're in the right place. Right from the moment you created your account here, you have already started your journey. The necessary links to guide you have been provided in the previous comment above, it's important you peruse over them, understand and make use of them accordingly.

It's important to note, I emboldened text from your post I quoted above which is not clear enough to me. The Forum is not an office to start with, that you'll be thinking of working. It's an avenue to give and receive knowledge. Although some folks are only here to earn some penny by participating in bounties and others but that's clearly a false impression of this forum. It's beyond that and you can choose the purpose your are here for.

In case you have any service to offer since you emphasis on working, then you can visit here. But you seem not to attract any client with brand new account who have nothing to show yet. You're welcome to Bitcointalk once again.

Since you are already aware of the bounty section, your friend will probably be a bounty hunter. I will have to ask you a simple question, which is: what do you mean by how do you start? Do you mean how do you start earning? Or how do you start learning about the forum?

For surviving the forum, The forum is a social place where you can be free and be yourself just as in the real world. The rules are not hard, and you will enjoy your journey here very well if you can be able to follow a few simple rules, which are "Don't Plagiarize". Don't get yourself involved in creating a lot of low-quality threads with a bunch of copy-and-paste content from online. For now, focus on reading through others threads and opinions and asking questions where necessary. And follow the guidelines of the link provided above and the ones that will come after.

For earning, you will first have to know how the forum works before you can start earning from it. Your contribution is what's going to earn you a couple of merits, which will possibly rank you up if your activity is up to a rank, and the more you continue being active, your consistency is surely going to pay off.

Then, if you have other skills like programming, graphics, or any other service that you think you can offer, you can also make some little earnings from them by just advertising yourself, and those who will be in need of your service will contact you. You just have to keep a clean profile.

What do you want to do? Learn about bitcoin or learn how to navigate through the forum?
If you want to do the forum, pick your best learning method and go with it. Spend time everyday learning about bitcoin. Most importantly learning about how to invest right. From experience I have noticed that most people start out by investing in bitcoin then they go back to learn  about it. So learn how to invest right especially risk management.

As for the later, read through the threads on the rules guiding members on the forum. The links has already been provided by some users in this thread. You will know what is expected of you as a member of this community.

A forum is just like the older version of modern social media. You use it to communicate/discuss/debate/etc. That's pretty much it.

As for what to do, if you go straight to the money you're going to end up messing up. Guaranteed.

Welcome to the forum mate,
I don’t think you need to ask where to start from since you have someone close to you, your friend who introduced you to the forum. He should be a better guide to both the forum and cryptocurrency at large.

Nonetheless here is the link to Bitcointalk search button, this will guide you on how to use the search button. You can use to search on anything you don’t understand. If you can’t find any answer you can just create a new thread.

For bitcoin related stuffs you can also use the learn me a bitcoin site, which summarizes the basic things about bitcoin to total newbies
