Have a look at the mining profitability chart (last I checked it was about 70-80%), it won't make you rich really when you take power and admin and downtime into account, but it can provide some income...

Most of my BTC I've made through mining, I've purchased a couple, I've made maybe .5 BTC from my websites so far (hopefully more soon), and I've made a few by riding the waves on exchanges such as btc-e.

Best way to earn bitcoins, or money for that matter, is probably to set up a bitcoin-oriented business. There's plenty of opportunity in this stage.

Any way you can earn dollars, you can earn Bitcoin.  Essentially, you need something to sell; this can be things you own, or things you can do (e.g. selling your time.)

I mine BTC/NMC via Bitminter (Getting around 200Mhash)

I also promote my website about bitcoins on various traffic exchange, paid to click websites and use coinvisitor, bitvisitor and a lot of the daily free btc sites!

Nice.

To be honest I have thought about trading in bitcoins. I have no previous experience so may have a go whilst being very careful.

Trading is not an one-way street. Most traders lose.

Better sell some stuff or service for bitcoin.

ya.ya.yo!

Thanks for the advice.
