I store my the bulk of my coins in a cold storage. The private keys for that wallet is stored on different offshore locations. I never store anything in my home. I do keep small amounts of coins in a hardware wallet I carry around with me and also a backup phone that has no service so that it does not connect to the internet. I only connect it to a secure wifi location if I ever need to make some transactions.

all my bitcoins are safely stored in cold storage. My backup system is very thorough, but insanely secure.

Even if the house burns down I can get access to my bitcoins.

If you store a large number of coins in one place it may be it's a wise decision, but 100% security never happens. It is impossible to consider all the risks. I think a more secure solution is to store on different wallets in small amounts.
Thats nice . from now im just earning a bitcoin becuase im a newbie in signature campaign i hope someday i get a lot of bitcoin like you and i will  invest for a long time and wait for the pumping up the value of bitcoin . then i will store to safe storage for assurance.

Hopefully bitcoin is always there and continue to grow the next 10 years.
I think store bitcoin better by offline because it can not be accessed by others.
If we want to also save it online, then you must create a private key or password is very complicated so it is not easy to steal.

I have all my coins in on an online trading site (paxful) (low volume)

I plan on making a large investment very soon, and want to safely store all of my coins
I.E I basically want to drop a couple thousand, and keep them in the safest possible way, where I can revisit them in 5-10 years or so and reap the benefits, or cry about the loss.

What is the best way to do this, and what's the best way of ensuring a backup?

How do you currently store your coins

thanks in advance for any inputs

I provide some online wallets to keep my coins in safe place.  I have a plan for them and i will use this coins in right time and right things

If I already have bitcoin I will not save it but I immediately sell it for the needs.

There is actually no crime in doing this as you equally helping the market grow by making it liquid.

For me, I learned the hardway when it comes to keeping my coins I had always maintained everything on an online wallet until the day the site just went down without any notification that I was kept waiting for it to come online. Those hours were the longest I could think off then immediately it came back, I moved to hardware wallet which I feel more comfortable with.

I do not prefer you to keep your Bitcoins is online sites like that. It is even better to keep them in an online wallet comparatively , but keeping them is offline wallets is the best. And storing them in different wallets is also better

I am also keeping my bitcoins into the different wallets for the security purpose. I prefer blockchain wallet as their wallets are highly trusted and secured if we compared with others. Some people are also using the offline wallets in order to avoid the online theft.

Have them somewhere that provides you with a private key and backup that key to many different places (secure ones! dont leave it on the cloud or an email, thats way too risky).

If you have LOADS of invested capital then i'd suggest taking even further steps to secure everything, like many different wallets.

The best way to keep your coins safe is by storing in a cold storage wallet, or any wallet that gives access to your private keys. Before you make any decision are you sure that ,God forbid, will you be able to face the repercussions if any? Because forgetting your money for like 5-10 years is not a joke. Since you are going for long term, never use an exchange for such purposes.

Usually, I keep some of my Bitcoin on my Coinbase wallet. But keep large portions of my Bitcoin on some Blockchain Wallet. Because Blockchain Wallet is highly secure. I keep Bitcoin on it for trading.

Coinbase is not so popular in Asia, I am more confident to store bitcoin in trezor wallet, and use only blockchain and wallet exchanges for short transactions in the trading market as well as a wallet for gambling, all of which serve to achieve daily profits and keep counting total for percentage of long-term deposits and weekly expenses.

i strongly recommend you a hardware wallet. hardware wallets are very secure in term of looses. if you want to invest a huge amount of your money to btc and you want to keep it safe for about 5-10 years, hardware wallet is suits to your need. but it is really expensive. or try to have a sofware wallet they are also secure in terms of loosing.

There are a lot of available bitcoin wallets out there, be it for local (like coins.ph which I am using) and for general (like blockchain and xapo wallet). If you want to secure your bitcoins, create your wallet to any of those, and don't forget to create a 2FA for your wallet. Whenever I earn satoshis from game sites and other source of earning, I immediately withdraw it and put it to my wallet, then I encash it through remittance centers for more assured transaction.
