For now I dont have bitcoin. But when I have one my friend suggested me that it is prefer to put your bitcoin in myetherwallet, because he told me that was the safest online wallet. Because theres a private key on it. That only you can actually know it. So if you just like to save your bitcoin and you dont what to cash out. You can use myetherwallet for you to keep it.
All wise people have the same strategy for keeping their bitcoin and other valuable coins save. It is not sagacious to keep all coins in one wallet because they can be hacked any time by any good hacker. It is always said that don’t keep all eggs in basket because if any mishap happens, you are going to lose all your eggs. I am myself keeping my coins in more than one wallets and keeping etheric keys in my diary.

I have all my coins in on an online trading site (paxful) (low volume)

I plan on making a large investment very soon, and want to safely store all of my coins
I.E I basically want to drop a couple thousand, and keep them in the safest possible way, where I can revisit them in 5-10 years or so and reap the benefits, or cry about the loss.

What is the best way to do this, and what's the best way of ensuring a backup?

How do you currently store your coins

thanks in advance for any inputs

I kept my Bitcoin in my virtual wallet , it is my most truatest wallet where I always use whenever I transact money, not only that it can also rebate money that I can save up to keep my Bitcoin growth or increase it is such a big help for me to have this virtual wallet whitout it I'll felt sad.
Bitcoin should be kept in a safe wallet and not on virtual wallets because virtual wallets are not good since they are online and can be hacked and that can be a reason for you to lose your bitcoin and it is better to have a desktop wallet rather than a virtual wallet and you should use your bitcoin on necessities only.

Actually I put my Bitcoin in secured wallet to protect my daily earnings.because there are many scammer in the world.to be sure that your account is safe secured your Bitcoin.
Same with me, I keep my Bitcoin in my trusted wallet where I'll be confident enough to keep and hold it for a long time. And I'll assure that my account is confidently secure so it will not be prone to be hacked.

I use Electrum desktop wallet which is safe and secure and very lite to use, before this i was using online coinbase wallet which is also secure but you dont have control over the wallet and they are banning users account which is using in gambling. so desktop wallet is free to use in any way.

If you want to secure your bitcoins, the best way you can do is to keep it in trusted exchanger like bittrex. I got a benefit when I keep it bittrex, I earn free bitcoin cash when I store in bittrex after the segwit.

I have 2 bitcoin wallets just like the concept of backing up. So whatever circumstances may happened to one of my wallets, i still have the other one.  So in my humble opinion, never put your bitcoins in a single wallet only because if you're unlucky enough that it will be hacked, then everything is lost.

Actually I don't have any bitcoin yet but I have a good plan for me to keep my bitcoins. First I will just strive hard to get those and save them. If I need to buy something I'm going to use but as long as I don't need something, I will save it and wait for higher price. Smiley

If you want to keep your bitcoin in a good way, I suggest to you to keep it in a online wallet. You can see it in a playstore or search what is the best bitcoin wallet. Or ask someone who have many bitcoin and I sure that he/she have a bitcoin wallet. And if you have now a bitcoin wallet, make sure that you're the only one who knows the pin code, email, or password your wallet.

I also keep them safe by not installing weird files.
