In those rare instances how do we really know we are safe with who so ever we chose to discuss matters like this with and also how do we choose our venue for having this conversations because most times discussing this through phone call can be risky as well because the walls have ears and many network providers record calls been held by their customers and this can also become a tool that can put the hodler at hgh risk.
This forum is an ideal place for us to discuss bitcoin, because many topics discuss bitcoin in detail and in general, in my area bitcoin is not friendly to discuss and many people do not believe bitcoin as a promising investment. Having discussions with them would be a waste of time for me and better try to do something more useful discussing bitcoins on forums and I'm sure many people have a much better understanding than us.

It's very limited in my area to discuss bitcoin, but surprisingly I actually trust bitcoin more as one of the investments I choose. There are many risks that we will accept and if we don't know the basic knowledge about bitcoin, then it will be quite easy for them to deceive anyone.

When talking about Bitcoin, be cautious about what you disclose to others. It's important to refrain from sharing sensitive details such as private keys or account information, and to remain vigilant of anyone who may request this information from you. If you must have a conversation about Bitcoin online or over the phone, it's recommended to use encrypted messaging apps such as Signal or WhatsApp to safeguard the privacy of your discussions.

Don't you think in giving certain information any one who wishes to ask about private keys is after your downfall?  As it is impossible not to disclose the password of my phone and computer to any one I think it is more important not to talk about my private keys or Bitcoin investment to people regardless of the level of familiarity or trust because Bitcoin itself is privacy and anyone that is associated with it ought to live a private life.

When it comes to sharing some sensitive information about keys and account information, newbies are easily attracted because they are yet to understand the importance of security but information like this will enlighten their understanding.

Discussing Bitcoin through phone is still risky for you? you're need to uninstall everything and never create any bank account because it will contain your real name, your face, your wealth, your location etc. It's not that simple for your network providers to your real location and what you're doing, they have an ethic rules for not breach or record calls of their customers. Then what you're expecting?

Discuss via offline you're worried if someone will directly attack or rob you, but via online you're worried you will get $5 wrench attack in your home.

You really think it is nothing to worry about. How do you think confidential conversations held over the phone between two prominent parties get leaked. How about scenarios where the source of income of a particular person becomes a concern of a countries financial crime unit don't you think going over their past, present and future conversation might occur.

It's like paranoia.   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes    Besides, what do you care about famous people? Or do you attribute exactly the same significance to yourself? If you're talking to someone on the phone, then either you know and trust that person, in which case, with rampant paranoia about being tracked because of your identity, you encode the word "Bitcoin" into something that will reassure you, or you just don't talk to strangers.
I would be more wary of talking on the phone, knowing that today's technology easily changes people's voices to any voices familiar to us. Therefore, it is better to solve all financial matters face-to-face.

Trust Issues are very sensitive in the midst of a society whose economic level is increasingly squeezed, you must be careful about discussing something that is considered confidential to the people around you, it could be that someone you know can change their mind at any time due to the effects of life's demands. You can discuss Bitcoin in general, what is happening in the market, how the price is moving and any positive/negative issues that may affect the price with them.

There are certain limits that you must keep private from others, such as how many Bitcoins you hold, private keys and where your assets are stored. It is necessary to maintain the security of the assets that we have even from the closest people, you never know what is in their minds because when they are hungry and need money, even good people can turn into thieves.

Personal I only discuss my about bitcoin to an interest person but still when giving some information I can’t just go ahead and spit out my keys details or holdings. I know in line to convince someone we kind of brag to them about our holdings just make them either comfortable about the idea that it is save so as to lure them.
it's like a double-edged sword if spit out your key details or holdings. because it can be reversed, maybe next time he is not interested to buy Bitcoin, but try to steal your asset. we can just give an example like another successful person who be the richest person because of bitcoin, but again, several of them not only rich because it has the bitcoin, right? but they did another project where implementing Bitcoin and another development such as Exchange.

If you don't want to become an influencer and are ready to be publicly known by people around you that you are a Bitcoin investor, don't discuss it with them.

It is why online forums are very important as you can freely discuss about what you are interested in without letting people know about your real identity. In addition, you can discuss it with foreigners from other countries and continents. You will have better overview on what's going on not only locally but also globally.

Agree. Private data shouldn't be discussed or shared with others, we must keep the information about private keys and the like. Only talk about them with close people only or our family members only. And it is better to avoid discussing/talking via smartphone. Why don't we discuss/talk directly to them? I think it should be safer. We also need to choose the right time and place to talk about private information. Never talk about them in public places/areas, better to talk at home.

This level of hardship among pooe countries can turn good people into bad ones and as well escalate the bad threats in bad people. In as much as we try to keep our hodlings secrete and our transactions private, there are times we need to discuss with the few persons we believe won't stand as a problem when the topic about Bitcoin is discussed with them.
There are several pickup lines to which one can start up a Bitcoin conversation with anyone, of which if that individual happens to responds fine, then you are good to go, such as given below, but always know that it not by force to have someone engage into a crypto conversation with you.
Example;
1. Have you heard of Bitcoin, what's your take on it, is it real or scam?
2. If you could choose between 1 Bitcoin and $10,000, which one will you choose?
3. If you could have 1 Bitcoin, how will you feel Sir?
e.t.c...

In as much as you are not living in a country where Bitcoin or any other crypto currencies are prohibited, I don't see any reason why you can't discuss issues about Bitcoin in most public places such as restaurants, love garden and train stations with a friend or family member, because that Bitcoin is anonymous, that doesn't mean you have to stay anonymous at always.

You can always have discussion about bitcoin with anybody, there is no harm about it. It is only harmful and dangerous if you go to the point of telling people in every discussion of bitcoin about your investment in bitcoin.  Having knowledge of bitcoin and going into discussion of bitcoin does not review what you have got in your bitcoin wallet.  It is very important to be conscious of what you say while having discussion with strangers about bitcoin because giving them your financial status of bitcoin can later be a dangerous case to you. You can teach people or discuss investment with people and not letting them know your worth of investment.

- hello doctor who box
Seems like OP is living in a hostile area where people do bad things for a living, or it is just my imagination from your post. I don't think it is a good idea to talk about finance with other people if you live in any neighborhood, as you explain. Keep the bad things in you and also keep the good things in you if you really think that you don't trust the person.
If you talk about bitcoin or want to engage in a discussion about bitcoin just choose people wisely before you open up anything about yourself.

Choosing a suitable environment that could enables you have a cryptocurrency itch free experience is very important because this will make you have high and upper hands in it, we consider some challenges base on the in depth of the circumstances around it, some were primary while other secondary challenges, but any place where you could have maximum participation in cryptocurrency without having a barrier is good for a recommendation.

Because of the negative publicity and negative perceptions about bitcoin in society, mentioning your bitcoin holdings in public could be dangerous. If you're asked to explain your type of employment or investments, you can disguise yourself and use something unrelated to bitcoin if you're in a location where knowing about your investment could put you in danger.

We all know who we trust and the types of people we are surrounded by in our surroundings; once we've adapted, we can discern who to be open to and who not to relate to concerning the type of work we're doing. There’s no special way to know a suitable environment for bitcoin discussion, maybe your instincts could tell. Also, no any network provider will listen to your conversation if you’re not a suspect to be tracked for a susceptible crime offense.

You can discuss bitcoin without disclosing your hodlings, profits or how you store your private keys. There are plenty bitcoin topics that can be good conversations to talk about other than how much bitcoins you have in your wallet. Do you feel comfortable talking about how much you have in your bank account with your people? I don’t think so.
Most times it doesn't matter if the holding , profit or private key is discussed, Just a mere discussion about Bitcoin, its price action and how much you predict Bitcoin could climb to within a period of time can as well call for unnecessary attention..
Discussions about bitcoin price and speculation is not sensitive information and can be done in public spaces if bitcoin is legal in your country.

Like I said before, unless you’re a suspect of a serious crime you have nothing to be scared of. What exactly do you imagine could be the details of such phone conversation that can get you in trouble? Bitcoin should not be seen as a means to launder money or cut taxes, as a good citizen you should be able to explain your source of income to the government. Maybe I’m missing your point.

Discuss your about crypto holdings to a closer or more less someone you have an iota of trust for but never go around bragging in public about the whole bitcoin or cryptocurrency stuff. It is not a must to teach everyone about bitcoin

Do you have to?
Should you see the need then you just might find a good reason haven't been satisfied by your sense of judgement to educate the person's around you.

One sure thing is, people tend to look at the teacher with a sense of haven't made it all in crypto or have a big hodlings to have come by the knowledge they've got and wants to disclose some winning ways but, knowing so much could be just theory and nothing much in the practicals. So yeah, I get the idea of a sentiment about discussions in this field.

Still, it's basically about you having that comfort about these individuals and possibly in some conference where you've got like minds.

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
We live in a cruel society, One in which no one can be trusted mostly in under developed and developing nations where majority of citizens live an average life, even the most developed countries are not safe either.

If you're having that much amount of cryptocurrency assets to be worried about keeping it secured from your neighborhood or friends then just don't share them about your portfolio value at all and not all calls will be recorded unless you're suspected of doing something which violates the laws of your nation so don't think too much just be casual and talk about investment not really about how much you made and where you keep all your money and that's really a basic thing to follow by anyone with common sense.

there are times we need to discuss with the few persons we believe won't stand as a problem when the topic about Bitcoin is discussed with them.
If you consider the persons you're discussing with pose no risk, there's nothing to be worried about. If you're unsure whether they do, then do not discuss Bitcoin with then at all

The forum is a safe space where we can communicate anonymously, ask questions and join discussions, that suffices for me.

You really think it is nothing to worry about. How do you think confidential conversations held over the phone between two prominent parties get leaked. How about scenarios where the source of income of a particular person becomes a concern of a countries financial crime unit don't you think going over their past, present and future conversation might occur.
Again, if you're unsure about your privacy or security, do not discuss Bitcoin investments or holdings over phone calls or in physical conversations.

I don’t think that’s something to be worried about. There are over a million customers using their service, I doubt they would be listening in on your phone conversations unless you’re blacklisted as a suspect for a serious crime that involves national security.
