when to sell? Of course it's very easy, because traders must also have the skills to sell at the right time,
and definitely don't be greedy, if you have experienced an increase of 10% I think it's the right time to sell.
10% profit is good enough to close position. Generally I close my trade after getting a 5-10% profit. I always use stop loss also. For traders, they can know when to sell for gaining profit.

It's like setting a target goal and stopping when you hit it. We must know our target profit so we won't get tempted to aim for too much which might lead to greater greed. 5-10% profit is already ideal. Profit is still profit and we must be contented sometimes especially if the volatility of the coin is too high.

It happens with all traders/investors that value of their portfolio remains in loss for long time when they buy in Bull market. In such situation the best strategy is to do dollar cost average, means reduce your buying cost  by making new buying on dips but not on minor dips. Do buying when there is at 20% fall, in crypto market almost all Alts fall more than 80% from their ATH in bear run. It always happens  so take advantage of lower prices to build your portfolio at a lower cost and book huge gains when Bull market returns.
Bear market is very useful to collect more top coins to cover losses when buying during bull season, so we must have spare funds to buy again during bear market, pro traders suggest dividing your investment into several stages to prevent high losses if the market does not match predictions, so we should have 30% reserve funds during a bear market.

It's actually difficult, if not impossible to have a perfect idea on how the market would play out. Some persons are good at predictions, based on the information at their disposal, others are intuitive about the direction of the market., some depend on TA to predict the outcome of the market, but whatever the case may be, it's wise to be great at it before getting involved in daily trading in the market to avoid getting burnt.

This is hard to know, usually I often make mistakes, when the price skyrockets and the profit is big I usually buy more, as happened with BNB when the price is more than $550 I buy a lot because of speculation the price will skyrocket again.
But if you still maintain your BNB that you bought at a price of $550 and still haven't sold it, then your assets are currently still in a minus condition so you also still need time to get a small profit or a very good profit with BNB

When to sell a coin is probably when it's have generated profits, that's the main and prime thing. Before a trader must have place triggered the sell price, he or she must ensure he's in Profits. I only triggered my sell price when I'm fully aware that I'm in Profits and there's absolutely nothing that will hinder me from not selling after learning from my mistakes. Some traders uses a general basis which is buy when the market is in serious dump and sell when it must have enter bull period. This basis alone have change so many certain things for traders.

To simplify that problem when investing, we should plan and target when to buy and when to sell so as not to be confused when there are abnormal fluctuations in the market.

We will never know what will be the last ATH in the bull season or what will be the ATL this bear season, as long as we stick to our target and stick to what we have set, not break its principles.

There is not a moment where is better to take profits.

When you start investing you should have a strategy with a well-studied asset allocation. So with periodic rebalancing you will buy when the price goes down and sell when the price goes up, as the allocation will be unbalanced by the market performances of your coins.

Obviously it is an extreme simplification, but I advise you to start studying how to build a well-organized portfolio, otherwise it cannot be considered investment, but trading/gambling.

Its always trading. It always does sound a very newbie question and probably don't know terms even. Oversimplification would be more like buy low sell high. But since he is asking when to sell, it means he likes to identify when to know he is not going to lose potential profit after selling.

But this also depend on which timeframe he is selling or whether he is a short or long term investor, either I woukd still suggest using RSI for his trading.

There is no pattern or trick that you know what is the future, is it pump or dump. you should wait till the market is very good or you take a good profit from the coins, after then you should sell you coins. I do in the way. Many time when I get a good profit, I sell my coin. On the other hand, many time I hold for more profit and I loss my money.
techincally we could predicted price movement by using several strategy such as trendline , divergence aor other technical methode. All of us understand its not 100% true, but atleast with technical analisys we know which point will have higher probability. Alot traders still didnt understand about exit and entry strategy and we must developt our skill about it to avoid big mistake like this.

Knowing or determining when to sell depends on the coin you're holding, the information about the and your individual greed level. Some people never lost in their crypto investment because little percentage of profits are enough for them. And some people keep losing because they want their investment to go 1000X before they sell or take profit.

All the market metrics for determining a price bottom are just speculative. From Moving Averages to Bollinger Ellisons or something like that can disappoint one, as I have learnt the hard way. I just rely on pure gut and try as much as possible not to FOMO but I'm still human and can fall victim to such emotions, thus getting rekt

We have different preferences in selling but as for me, I rely on the target goal that I have set upon buying. I set a target price as a basis for when I'm going to sell my holdings regardless of the possible price hike of my coin of choice. Once the coin reaches my price goal, I sell and reinvest again when the price strikes down. You should always follow your goal and don't let greed lead you to the wrong path.

It is important to set that target and have a decent control over your emotions, never to allow greed and fear dominates.

If you have that goal and you are all in meeting that expectations, you can always hold and be contented with
the result of your investment. Unlike if you don't have that kind of system, you are mostly like gambling with
your investment and probably lead you to losing your money.

If you trade for short time then every time in my opinion if i took profit when it goes 5-10℅ and if you hold for long then look on market condition and also condition of your project which you holding for long time. Dont much greed in project then at last you will get nothing

Do you have any pattern that you see or watch in the market to determine time to sell your hodlings and take your profit ?

Do you regret not selling your coins at any point because you didn't know it will drop ?

Can you share your opinion

I don't time it when I hodl altcoins because I'm just waiting for the right time when I will sell them. and the right time is when the price of the altcoins I have has gone up and has given me a little profit. so I don't have any pattern to determine when I should sell it. and I will definitely regret it if the altcoins I own go down without me knowing.

I agree the best time to sell the coins we have is when the price of the coins we have rises above the price when we bought them. Sometimes
it takes patience to wait for the coins we have to go up in price, especially in a bear market situation like now the price of coins tends to continue
to decline. But as long as we invest in potential coins, we don't have to worry if the coins we have decrease in price, because of potential coins,
the price will usually recover again. The most important thing is never to sell the coins that we have at low prices.

There are two major ways to know when to buy or sell your a cryptocurrency. You can either follow the news, but be sure that you have the right interpretation of the news before doing that. I don't follow this style even though it is effective because it is deceptive at times. Many news has failed in their right interpretations or raised a false alarm, and the news impact might be deceptive. The second option which is my preferred way to know when to buy or sell a cryptocurrency is to use technical analysis, where chart patterns would guide you on what to do. You will sell when a peak/high is established or buy when a low/bottom has been established. You can also buy or sell after a breakout, and simple trading tools like price action, trendline etc. could effectively guide you in this regard.
