Strategy like arbitration really has a risk such as long confirmation and price crash while you send the transaction. I'd rather to read the update on forum about update of certain altcoins and make a goal about how much profit I would like to earn than wait until sell on the highest price.

Being a trader is not that easy. One needs to be much dedicative, also the same needs to have good knowledge about cryptocurrency and time to spend on it. If this can be fulfilled then one can easily overcome emotions, because the out burst of emotions were on failure.
If you are serious trader you should forget emotions they can only be bad for your business. It's not easy but you can learn with time. Keeping cool had and clear ratio are the most important. Once you let your emotions drive you you will start to panic and lose your focus and everything will go wrong. So with more trading experiences you will also learn to manage your emotions better.
I agree that experience can give us comfort in trading. With the convenience of some important decisions we can do. Usually people who have experienced many things can put their emotions. They will always be calm at all times because they can control their emotions.

Personally, I believe use this time way to get success. It's so important and trust me; your tough trading days won't seem so tough after all. Trading is hard because it is the ultimate case of a competitive market. You will success at day trading, otherwise it's so difficult.

Emotion is a real hindrance when it comes to trading. 
Just a little flow downside then it is panic time. But it might also end up as a good decision for a few times.
So how do I manage it?
The real answer would be no to look too much with the statistics. Just let it be. Forget you have funds there for a couple of days then maybe check after that or 3 days after.

It's normal when people become freakin out seeing bitcoin turn without being expect but for some time, stay calm may bring you to more profit trading.
I've experience it when I trade Energy coin and now I can see this coin has increase more than before
Energy coin has given you the profit again but it often not happens with all the coins if someone have invested in altcoin and it go to die then it really make the investor to cry. I will say that it is better to invest in bitcoin mostly because it give much high profit than any other asset. From less than 1000 sats to 5,000 sats, I think that brings big money for those who were able to buy at less that 1000 sats.
Simple I buy into only projects I like. I stay away from shitcoins. They are not worth the headache
How do you identify a shit coin and a good project. 
With a good trading strategy in forex I set up my stop loss then sell or buy of course I trade with amount I can afford to loss therefore removing any form of emotiom or fear. Emotion and fear is a major threat to trading which should be adequately taken care.
Why is there a stop loss ,the simple reason is fear,whether the price would go down and if so you do not want to see your asset value going down It is really hard to trade in a bear market but in the real stock exchange i usually invest when there is a major correction rather than investing in a bull market.

It actually takes a lot of practice of controlling your emotions. We take example the soldiers, it takes them many months to a year of training to master stability under pressure. Even so, when they are already in the real mccoy, some tend to lose their calmness and start to act uncontrolably and may cause their eventual death. This is the same with gambling or any form of that, we need to master it and train ourselves as much as we can.
Your discipline will tell that how much control you will get on your emotions. are you fickle minded guy then it is hard to control your emotions in any situation. So controlling our emotions is depends on our patience. If you have patience, then you will control your feelings in gambling or trading.

I always have a profit/ loss limitation, everytime my profit/ loss hit the limitation, I will sell immediately to cover my balance. By that way, I can make sure that my balance is still having enough money for trading.While trading sometimes I drop back from my original plan. That is a good advice to make a sell position immediately right after you buy some altcoins - this way, everything seems to happen automatically. It is more better to logout after doing that and just relogin few hours or 1 day after.
