I honestly don't understand why you don't have 336 Activity; I've learned not to really look at the member title. The only time I really look at that is if I'm looking at the sig campaigns, and I'm not gonna be qualified for the higher paying ones for awhile. I'm assuming the formula for determining activity is still the same, isn't it?

Just look here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/forum-rankspositionsbadges-what-do-those-shiny-coins-under-my-name-mean-178608. You have everything you need to know there. Need help with something else maybe?

I linked the OP to that page on this page haha, that's where I got the formula. I looked it over, and it seems that you have to post within that 2-week period for it to count toward your activity. That's the only plausible explanation.

Yeah that's it. I wasn't clear with ranking system here when I was starting here too and now I'm Sr. Member, almosta  year now. Cheesy

it takes awhile to move up, i think its like every 2-3 weeks you can move up right?

Yes, every two weeks you will get 14. I'm waiting any thime now to be over 420. Cheesy

420 from 252 is gonna be awhile. I'm surprised that your activity isn't higher, actually, considering you have 400+ posts and you joined in Nov 2013.

Nov 2013 - Oct 2014 = ~48 weeks
Converting that into two-week periods, that's 24 2-week periods, and then multiplying that by 14 is 336, so your activity should be 336 (# of days since registration), not 252, if they're still calculating the activity the same way that it's notated. That's weird

EDIT: multiplying that by 14*

I got my rank today. Yeah, it;s gonna be a year now in Nov.

There should be clues as to whether or not the account owner is who he/she says he/she is; if the time difference between posts is a long-elapsed time, then there's a clue. If the password was recently changed, there's a clue. If one of the recent topics was "S> HERO ACCOUNT", then ding ding ding!

Converting that into two-week periods, that's 24 2-week periods, and then multiplying that by 2 is 336, so your activity should be 336 (# of days since registration), not 252, if they're still calculating the activity the same way that it's notated. That's weird

No, the system gives you 14 points every two weeks, no matter how many posts you make in that 2 week period.

If the OP made most of his posts in 2 weeks, he/she would still only get 14 points.

I mis-typed; from November to October here is 24 two-week periods; 24 * 14 = 336. So shouldn't his activity be 336?

The 2 week period is only counted if you made at least 1 post within the period.

If you would make 100 posts in the first 2 weeks then it would count as 14 ( min(14,100) ).
If you then would make 1 post in the next 2 weeks your activity would go to 28 ( min(28,101) ).

And for 2 week periods where you don't make any post, your activity would just stay the same (because you weren't active)

So in one year you could get a maximum activity of 365.

The formula for calculating your activity is min(time*14, posts), where time represents the number of 2 week periods since your registration. The official link can be found in the Meta section. Basically, so if you've been registered for a month (two 2-week periods), but you've only posted 17 times, your activity would be min(28, 17) and 17 is the minimum of those two in the comparison; therefore, your activity would be 17. It can be frustrating to wait for your activity to accumulate; even if you post often, your activity won't increase until the next forum update. In the end, it's pretty fair though.

EDIT: Here's the link: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/forum-rankspositionsbadges-what-do-those-shiny-coins-under-my-name-mean-178608

Personally, the most annoying thing is the wait-time between posts. I don't even mind the ranking system, as that's fair.

You need 14 posts every 14 days or something like that, im not sure. I think I saw this explained in the meta subboard somewhere.
