Like you said, options 1 and 3 are best to be avoided, option 1 is not even profitable for an individual and may even result in a loss in the long-run.
As for option 3, you're likely to end up scammed. One "Easy" way to mine is via Altcoins, Ethereum is a good alternative. The Nicehash miner is pretty
reasonable, it mines altcoins using a variety of algorithms and automatically converts them to Bitcoin. You can even use your GPU, if it's a decent one.

Signature campaigns are the far more profitable things to do (In this forum at least) to earn BTC. Regarding faucets, don't even bother using any, especially now.
I had made some mBTC using faucets when the price was a lot lower ($300~ if I am not mistaken) and paid 500-2000 or even more satoshi per roll. Even back then,
it wasn't worth it. Now it's just a bigger waste of time. I only use freebitcoin because I had a couple of thousand satoshi in my balance, just pressing roll every now and then.
You could also try mining with Nicehash if you have a computer with a decent GPU. You could also offer services in exchange of BTC, or go riskier by buying and selling.

As you mentioned all can indeed get bitcoin in that way but which I often do at this time by participating in campaign signatures and tweeters and facebook campaigns because that's all I can do in my spare time.

If you are a beginner then your way to get bitcoin by way of faucet (no recomend) this way produces bitcoin but only a little, also membituhkan a long time. You can follow it on freebitcoin.
