Nvidia cards hold value very well like Apple products. 10 series cards still hold a lot of value despite being 3 years old. More like only a 33 percent drop from MSRP brand new. Just go look on eBay and Craigslist

Ya if we go into a bull run and short supply video cards can double in price.

AMD cards did drop off a cliff

It completely depends on the demand for old GPUs in a year from now. Maybe if crypto goes bullish again and GPUs for mining are in demand like 2017 then price may be the same as now. Otherwise I would expect some decline.

I think it depends in market conditions in crypto market before Q4 2017 the market is in hype and the GPU price had a BIG leap in its original price  Wink

Prices of GPU mostly depends about crypto market condition. This old 1070 what is 250 usd today, can be worth 700 usd tommorow if there'll be profitability per GPU like 5/usd day Cheesy

Or what affects the price. New generation of GPU's? Crypto crashing again?
I doubt Nvidia is going to introduce a new generation of GUPs soon. You can scratch that out. Crypto crashing again is possible, and that would affect the price for sure, but I hope it won't happen any time soon. If you are going to buy a preowned card, pay attention because it is important that the owner is not a miner himself. If he is, the chances to be able to resell the card after a year are not high.

In 1 year, can I expect resale price to be around $200-250 still?
Or what affects the price. New generation of GPU's? Crypto crashing again?

Adding up on the duration of your GPU will also decrease its resale value. Its pre-owned when you bought it and its expected to go even more lower.

Factors affect price? Ofcourse,

GPU model
Operation Duration (worn out parts)

Not sure on what would be the precise price after a year but you should expect to be lower.

Can you give an estimate? How much did the previous generation of GPU's drop in price when the current generation came out? Did they drop off a cliff?

If I buy a preowned 1070 G1 8GB for example at $250 how fast will the price decline?
I already know that if i buy a new one at $400, as soon as i use it the price plummets to $250 because it's now preowned.

But what about the value decay from there?
