first that "shop" has to have adopted that cryptocurrency or stable coin to accept it then you can simply pay it by carry around your wallet (like on your phone).
the problem is that "shops" barely accept bitcoin payments let alone want to accept any of the altcoins!

why would you want to do that when you can't pay directly with crypto?!!!
use fiat directly and avoid the fees that would associate with multiple conversions and the service costs and also the volatility of cryptocurrencies!

For you to consider doing that way, you should be the one to figure out your local mobile applications that supports that kind of payment, if there's no application that can support it, then that is the time that you need to worry. Basically the steps are quite simple, in the app that I am using, I am just converting my crypto to our fiat currency, go to the store, pick the item that I want, then scan the barcode and that's it, I've successfully made the payment.

Well, there are few ways to do this just like @dkbit98 mentioned. In my opinion, getting a Debit Card is the best way. But beware there are many "scammy" vendors out there so make sure to compare them before selecting one. With a debit card, you will be able to shop at pretty much anyplace as long as they accept a visa/master card. There are some vendors out there which will let you spend "Stable" coins via their debit card as well. Do a quick google search and you will find plenty.

First thing you can do to help Bitcoin crypto adoption is to always ask workers who work in shops are they accepting Bitcoin and crypto.
If more people would ask this question I am sure there would be much more places where we could directly spend our crypto.

There are also some debitcards connected with crypto to work around this issue.

One more way is with some apps for mobile, like Eligma or Elly from Slovenia, that allows this option for payment with Bitcoin and other coins.

To be able to pay for something with cryptocurrency, that shop/store must accept some coin as a means of payment. So if some shop accept BTC, you will pay with that coin, if not you have the option to ask them to start to accept cryptocurrency or look for another store that has such an option. You can convert cryptocurrency in fiat in most crypto exchanges, then withdraw fiat to your bank account and spend it anywhere.

For start try to search local stores in your country which accept cryptocurrencies as a means of payment, the benefits of this are duty-free shopping, fast delivery, and local language customer support.
