If you make an order to sell 1 bitcoin for $0, theoretically bitcoin price already crashed to $0
Someone'll buy bitcoin before it's reached $0, so i think it's impossible

But, if bitcoin price crashed $0, most likely internet is dead too, which means world is in chaous Sad

Well as far as i know you can't make an order with $0 value.
At least in Yobit i get an error which i think that it is same also in other exchanges.
Error Total transaction amount is less than minimal total: 0.00010000

I think that it will require few months up to few years
To reach that price, but to have a reason, which i believe that there isn't.
If bitcoin will be banned in most of the countries maybe on that time.

Even in the case of a nuclear war and Internet going off, I think still will have some value for collectors that would pay for a paper wallet or something with Bitcoin stored.

it can only go to zero if a major flaw is found in the protocoll or the encryption is easily hackable some day in the future.

if nothing like this happens i would bet a lot that it never goes to zero again.

bitcoin is an open source project. everything can be solved in quite a quick fashion. a flaw can make the price go down a lot, but not to zero.

Complete technical devastation would easily achieve it. If there was something insurmountable then people would run for the door. The market is thin enough for a death spiral to happen in a few hours.

Bitcoin is immortal because it isn't a coin, when you understand it is a decentralized network of trust, then you understand that with the time, the trust is becoming bigger.
That's interesting but the fact that trust is growing with time is debatable

How will it happen?

At the end of the Human species, then transactions will stop and that will crash the price to zero.

Will it just suddenly one day drop to $0?  Or will be a slow painful bear market finishing near $0 but never quite reaching at?  Some believers will never sell no matter what price ??

It depend if the Human species end fast with a meteorite like happen with dinosaurs, then it will be fast.

What do you guys think?

you shouldn't worry about bitcoin falling to $0 as that will simply never happen. even when bitcoin fails or get replaced by something better in the future, then there will always be people keeping the price higher than $1 Smiley

whats a BoA? if a government will create such then it won't be decentralized. you sure you want that?

zero is not possible as long as there is the demand and merchants accepting BTC, I doubt any of btc holders here will allow that  to happen.
We have invested a lot for btc not to mention the time we have here, it would be a waste.

I dont understand. Why it should be decentralized? US dollar better than RMB.  Bitcoin is good for you even if no problems with USA? Let us imagine. Year is 1960. Still bitcoin is $260?  I don't think so.

Everyone likes bitcoin because of problems with USA. Correct?

I dont understand that.

Bank of America = USA

As what gr8n8 said, by being decentralized it's harder for the government to control/confiscate your money!
take out a bill in your pocket and check what's in there, its pretty obvious the money you have is owned by the government and this is why you give it back to them as tax or so. if you have tons of money for which the government can't see where its from. IRS is a problem.

not possible in one day , plenty of buyers will create huge walls long before that, average joe will take part in action too

i think also miners will begin to protect their business under 100 already, and begin to buying, they have dumped at a higher price after all

i cannot see bitcoin will not drop to $0 again.
as if it goes back to 0 again, many people will be riot.
as its not acceptable after all. but i dont believe that believers
will really hold their coins no matter what the price is.
as first if it already go to the point what they expect bitcoin price will be.
ofcourse they will sell it. and 2nd if bitcoins goes down below $100,
there will be a fast selling of it. because many believers afraid to lose more money.

but hopefully because of the 21mil cap over the longer term people will see BTC grow in value and their BOA coins lose value (as fiat currencies do because of the constant creation of new currency)

Also by being decentralized it's harder for the government to control/confiscate your money!

It cannot ever go to 0. If even one person wants to pay 1 cent for a bitcoin, it will not reach 0. Unless your definition of 0 is much lower price than current price, than it would be possible.

I wouldn't count on it going below 200 again though, if you didn't buy yet, you probably missed the bottom.

it will never drop to 0$ as far as i believe , i trade coins and i do sell them and buy , it will be always with some value.

even i too think that it will never drop to 0$ ...it may drop harshlt to 150-165$ but 0$ is out of mind....

$150 is a good price to buy. Cheesy If people wants the price to go uo then probably no one will be letting go of their coins and just reinvest. It's a good price for newcomers to buy but then I doubt some people will be enjoying this sudden price drop because they will be loosing their profit. But then again, anything can happen. Cheesy
