I divide my investment into short and long term. Short term is usually around 30% of initial investment. This means that I'm waiting for pump x3 and sell 30% of my tokens. In this way I return 100% of my contribution in btc. Other 70% of initial investment is long-term investment...

yes that was my plan but was not working in the past
but i plan this for the future

Yes thats what i want to know.
What i see sometimes its good to sell when it comes to exchange because the price go up.
After that the price go mostly down for months.

On the other side there is a way to wait 1-2 years and hope the project not die lol and it goes moon

so how do YOU handle ICO ?
wow long time also yes if waiting one to two years,
if I still just wait at least 2 months is my new sell

thanks for ur response guys

what i find out coin is not coin and ico not ico..i think everyone know this.

one of my ico was ETT because i like the idea behind its not a big team and its not listed on a big exchange now
its on Cryptopia.

so what i wanna say even if you want to sell ur ico coins its not so easy when the coin is not listed in a big exchange like bittrex or polo
i will hodl this coins and hope for a  bigger exchange release in the future

the problem is nobody know the requirement for exchange going to list a coin

Sell when the value of the coin is higher than what you purchased it for. Or if the trend is consistently going up, you could consider holding on to them until such time you feel it’s the right time to sell. Or if in the long run you see that there is no hope of it going up, then you could sell it at the same price or sacrifice selling at a lower value..It’s really all up to you...

I've sold a couple relatively quickly, but I generally hold on to them if I believe in the project long term. I'll take some profits off the table if a coin moons though.

I wait as long the market price of the coin hit my target. That could take one month or one year or years.

If a coin enters a large exchanger then a good step is to hold it for a few months.
but if there is no official information related to the exchanger then it is better to sell it immediately.

depending on the project itself, if it looks promising then I'll save for 1 - 2 years, but sometimes it's better to be sold when entering the exchanger as long as profitable for me  Grin

It depends on the coin, the main reason for us to buy ICO is to get profit, usually after the ICO launched the price will go up and I usually sell it to cover the money I spend, then the rest of the coin I will keep it, in that situation I got nothing to lose, after few months I will see how is the coin improved if it got good improves then I keep it, if not I will sell it

What you said is pretty much thoughtful and one must know the risk involved in it. ICO work like that only, they will run for long period of time for there development and launch of the project. Considering that the price of their token will also fluctuate a lot after they get listed in the exchanger.

But to be honest it's not god way to earn profits like that. Just imagine tokens hitting the exchanger and they will put a initial price tag of x amount and everyone will just start panic selling. This actually kills the coin and the price drops but ICO managers are smart enough to not out the price tag way ahead. So those who still hold the coin will get a full benefit later on. My maximum time of holding the coin is two to three months and I think it's worth to do that.

it all depends on the insight of the coin/project. if i see a future in a particular ICO, i can wait as long as it takes just to gain more profit. usually it not advisable to dump a coin immediately after ICO, so you dont end up eaten up your fingers at the long run,

I always consider my ICO coins as long term investment so I didn't sell any of my coins that I got it with ICO

I categorize my coins either for long term or short terms which the coins in short term i do usually sell them when they hit above the ICO price and i do see that this is only the possible high price of that coin and i can see any further updates or potentials but for those coins which i do keep for long term i do really expect on them to give 10x or even 50x but theres no assurance and always have a risk on holding them.

Maybe I have to wait until it shows on exchanges and sell it right after it made a pump or I might hold it for about 5 months and have to observe the market if it shows good performance in it's first, second and third months of existence on exchanges then I have hold depending on the situation or market flow. Actually I am new to this ICO thing because I am a bit hesitant due to scams happening in some other ICO's out there so just recently I decided to participate and give it a try.

2 options: 1) sell it as the price goes up after ICO limiting your profit 1,5-2x. 2) or if you really trust the team, hold coins for at least a year for a product to be released.
Participating in ICO makes sense if team is trying to get very limited amount of money. Ifthey're asking for too much, price will drop to drop short after.

it may depend on the token that your receive during the ICO,they best way to do it is to relying to the roadmap of the development team that been served.there are quick goals for project that been easy to lift of, it could rise faster in price opposed to the projects and also it will take time to implement those ideologies in action

It depends on what you are holding. Bancor for example was an absolute disaster. If you bought the ICO, it would have been a short period of time to dump to make profit.

ICOs are a double edged sword. A lot of the coins are going to keep stagnating into the crypto-cementery, but a few can be long term holds.

If you just want to speculate with a project, anything above %10 gains is a good time to dump, but if you want to get rich you need to take higher risks. Doubling your money with an ICO would definitely be a success and I would jump ship at that point, but the few that go %1000 would be missed.

It depends how much I like the project. Since my bankroll is currently pretty small, I will be capitalizing my initial investment at 2x-5x area, and keep the rest.
