It depends on what kind of trading your into, there is long term which takes around 6 months or more or you can go for short term trading which takes around a day or week or a month.

How long does a trade take?

Depends on what style you want to trade. There are short and long term trading, In short trade you can profit/loss in a seconds, minutes, hours depending again on what target profit you want. Short trading usually requires big amount for you to see your profits. Long trading could take you at least a year and up depending on what coins you have for long trade and if your satisfied with your gains.

How long does a trade take?

What is that trade altcoin/btc or btc/USD? If you asking altcoin/bitcoin i think you can trade it for a short time and also bitcoin/usd. Once you see that you have profit you can sell it. But if you want it to keep for a long term maybe that is good too. Its up to you how long you want to trade.

Actually, it takes time if you really want to learn trading because it is hard to understand that formal trading and if you want a big trading also.
But since I can see that you are newbie, you better have your spare time here in the forum and make some reading because it can help you a lot in trading since there were open discussions here.
All you have in long run in trading is the luck which everyone in trading wishes for.

How long does a trade take?

Depend your strategy and price action on real market. Actually, there's no limit because even your strategy correct but real market is bad you'll never get profit. Trade is investment, not an instan way to get rich. It's look easy but really needs good plan and high discipline to grow up. Use long time period and be patience, never greedy. Don't forget to use only 40% from your money and believe with yourself. Good luck.

In trading I think time is not a goal to be accomplished, but that profit is a major goal in trading, and I never analyze how long I will gain in trading, but I only analyze where price movements will occur, move up or Down.
Because to anticipate so as not to mistake in analyzing market price movements and of course expect profits and minimize losses.

How long does a trade take?

It seems that it can not be predicted with time, if you think to have a lot of profits in a short time it depends how you can trade and must be true in analyzing the market.

How long does a trade take?

This will depend on your experience in trading whether short or long term tradings. But as what most traders said here long term is profitable than short term but Some says short term was profitable than long terms. but both of them can give give you
Profit in the end that's for sure.

How long does a trade take?

Time varies dude. It depends if you want a long term trade or short term or what you call day trades. Mostly day trades can give minimal and decent income but if you're looking for real earnings, a long term trade would be more profitable especially if you stumble upon a good altcoin or icos. Its good to try both to see where you're comfortable at

How long does a trade take?

It depends on what kind of trader you are, if you are a day trader a trade will last anything from a few hours to some minutes, if you prefer to trade long term then a trade could last weeks months or even years, there are many people that hold bitcoin since the beginning and have not sold their coins, so that means they have maintained their positions for almost a decade.

Indeed, there is no certain answer as some coin should be different with other coins, some could pump and dump within hours and others could take days or even month to get decent profit but usually ended with loss because not only one person who after the best peak to sell. There are plenty of traders who competes to get money from others, that's why just few people get profits while mostly always loss.
If you want take a look at daily % movement of cryptocurrencies, visit http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ then you will see how much its changing.

How long does a trade take?

To trade it entirely depends on the market situation and you, we can only see the development if you think you want to sell it because it has reached the target profit or cut lose because the price is getting down, the point there is no timeframe for take trade maybe a matter of hours even for months.
Yeah I agree. Trade is not something that is totally dependent on the market situation. But mostly we see people setting a specific target for every round they do through. Like my target of $2000 reached quite early than that of what I was expecting for it.

It is not like I have to hold the coin for one year and after one year whatever the price it will be I will be selling my coins on that price. My target of $2000 reached and I was done with one round and now is another one.

There are 2 things either the market will go with you which is really rare and second thing you will have to waot for a really long time. Trading is very risky if you do on yobit as their support is really bad , plus they have many shitcoins listed so if you buy those you may end up with a huge loss for a very long time.

It depends on your trading strategy but a trade can last anywhere from a couple minutes to a couple weeks. it really depends on your leverage and your strategy.

How long does a trade take?
I am into a trade which is still lasting even after years lol
The life of a trade is purely dependent on the target you will be setting. You may finish off a trade in less than a minute too if you just want to cover exchange fees or even some times under heavy fluctuating scenario, you may get decent profits within that one minute.

No one could exactly predict how long a trade may take. Because the tools we are having will support only price-wise analysis not in terms of time span. Only in speculation we are getting time frames, but they are purely guess-works/based previous similar incidents.
Yeah exactly, no one can predict that how long a trade takes. It needs a very much technical analysis and the speculations that an investor faces take him like a pendulum. The to and fro motion of the prices will never let anyone to make a 100% accurate prediction.

I have come cross some professional traders are making time based predictions but I guess it will not be that significant because market volatility is like God, beyond anyone's control.

Two minutes can benefit if you're lucky. For those who are professional there are many ways to determine them by reading the chart or candle stick to find out how the target pump or dump. Need patience and proper analysis. And for me this is very difficult. Roll Eyes

For beginners like me, I think there is no time limit for to determine sales. After getting enough profit, I think that's when I close the trade.
