My cutoff date is 2020. If it's looking broadly similar to where it is now in terms of actual user activity then I'll probably reconsider my position. The way it's set up is rather shark like. It needs to keep on moving and growing if it's to survive.

2020 is very close.I think bitcoin will survive next 100 years also.If you can see from 2009 to 2016 how much increased bitcoin price.Bitcoin will reach the moon for her anonymity.there is no payment system you can hide how much worth you are without bitcoin.People now dont want to share how much money they have thats the key to increased bitcoin price. Anonymity is not the strong feature of Bitcoin. There are multiple other alts, which have stronger privacy features.
The recent rise of Monero is due to people realizing its superior anonymity features.

I would like to say that bitcoin is the future of the world and it can be the future of the US dollar. Bitcoin is the potential money which is gonna be so costlier stock of the world. As you said we can hold some bitcoins to have a profit in a future.
Bitcoin hold the future of online payments, that the most we can see bitcoin get out of it. And if bitcoin manages to reach it's ultimate potential we shouldn't be surprised that bitcoin will be used for the next few decades to come.
The time span of bitcoin of bitcoin is not certain. It can last decades but for that reason it can also last a few years. Looking at the technology and the goal behind bitcoin, my guess is that bitcoin will last perhaps 40 years.

Yes actually if even bitcoin didn't survive long, the tech behind it blockchain will advance and will survive adapting to every changes/evolution tech will have. Power of decentralization and anonymity will be things everybody in the world will start to talk about and realize in future.

yeahthe real technology revolution here is the blockchain not bitcoin itself, and it is why all the other coin are mere clone, because they operate with the blockchain too, the blockchain alone is worth to me more than the entire market cap of gold, if only people were not that blind like you said

It is 100% surety that bitcoin will be remain in 2020, no doubt on it.
But the other point is that bitcoin would be on the top or other crypto currency has come in its place?
So now it is that time, a huge people are using different currency but still they are also using bitcoin and bitcoin has give us more profit than other crpto currencies.

True, we shouldnt be surprised when that thing happen since as we can see as of now its being gradually being used but not fully but for sure it would progress more in upcoming years and would surely used by everyone. Well no one knows what would happen but we based our speculation on the things that we are already experiencing now on bitcoin.
I dont know if bitcoin will be used in everyone soon and we cant say that if the bitcoin will be there on that year because its just a speculation but in bitcoin that is used by everyone i think it is very difficult because lot of country now is in 3rd world country and not most advance like use. Lot of people dont know how to use the technology thats why.

Bitcoins will survive as long as various governments allow it to.
About other technology, it is impossible to even dream up ways in which technology will evolve.
As long as people haven't turned back into the barter system, Bitcoin will still be there. As long as people are using fiat, Bitcoin will be there. And it doesn't seem that people will stop using fiat, that means bitcoins will be used by people for a long time as well. Basically as long as the fiat money and Internet exists, Bitcoin will be there.

I goes nothing can ever put Bitcoin down unless the whole internet gets taken down. Bitcoin is just a data and you surely can't kill a data, you can only wipe it or remove your availability to access that data. A lot of people are looking forward to things about Bitcoin, if there would be a minor bug in the Bitcoin system (even if there's not any), then somebody from the Bitcoin community can surely fund to fix it or fix it himself.

True, we shouldnt be surprised when that thing happen since as we can see as of now its being gradually being used but not fully but for sure it would progress more in upcoming years and would surely used by everyone. Well no one knows what would happen but we based our speculation on the things that we are already experiencing now on bitcoin.
We are heading towards the more advanced digital age and everything is becoming more and more digitalized. So we can expect bitcoin or some other digital currency to really make bigger waves for years to come. Maybe not in the next five or ten years, but more like fifty years from now.
