Pirate isn't the one selling. The market is selling. Pirate is most likely the one buying, more and more as people panic.

Some people say the current mass panic selling was sparked by Pirate liquidating his operation.  If so, he has a whole bunch of bitcoins to sell for which he obviously wants the best price.  The observation has also been made that he's allegedly liquidating on a weekend, when people can't get money into MtGox through their banks to buy up all the cheap bitcoins on offer.

So why does Pirate liquidate on a weekend if he would know banks are closed and there's less dollars around to soak up his sells?  It doesn't make sense from a financial point of view.  Anyone can transfer bitcoins 24/7 to sell, but the same cannot be said for dollars to buy.  It becomes a race between him and others to get all the dollars on offer.

Why liquidate at the worst possible time to sell?

I just bought at €8.30 and again at €7.90

They say you shouldnt try to catch a falling knife, but Im merely buying back what I sold at a higher price, so I will end up with more BTC than I started with.

yup lucky. i have no liquidity. no large trades from trusted people i could have relied on and mtgox wants photo ID? fuck

For me it's hold my coins. In this for the long haul. chugga woo woo

$5 would be nice..

BS. It gotta stop at some point. Everyone knows that money is getting into the exchanges on Monday. Why would I sell now when on Monday or Tuesday the rally resumes?

But then, dump more, fine. I just got all my coins back I sold at 12.50, on the way down and quite a few $$$ left. So push it lower. I'll buy more at 8.

Yummy.

1.8  Wink

Doesn't 1 BTC = $1 sounds lovely ?   Wink

$10/BTC is very very very very very close to the same amount of difficulty it takes to convert currency value/exchange in your head

why not peg BTC to USD?
