We will. We will. Block chain. Block chain.

Hopefully they go away... it’s destroying altcoin value for for weeks at a time when they do this.

I don't think they'll go away for a quite a while.  Bitcoin will have many advancements to go through including adopting some type of voting system / decentralized governance to prevent hard forks.

How much of Bitcoin's future value will be in the main fork and how much will be in Bitcoin child coins?  How can we make Bitcoin unforkable? I think Bitcoin will inevitably go through many forks on the trajectory it is going now.  Has anybody dared to predict?

As problematic as hardforks can be, they are critical to maintaining and refining bitcoin and other coins. It is the only way to add additional features to the blockchain and mitigate the impacts of attacks on the blockchain. Problems only arise when a hardfork does not have a significant consensus and effectively "splits" with some supporters remaining on each side of the fork. Segwit2x is a great example.

I agree completely. I have another post saying we should push for more and faster forks

More than 10 but it does not matter bitcoin is bitcoin and others are not seen as even good investable coins. I don't like these fork coins.

If there are some problems against currency then you have to fix them with hardforks. This is what happens.
Later 2018 we can see a blockchain NG hardfork too. and these are good for community.

I suppose that any new hardfork is just for short time. We are already see BCH bleeding. Maybe any previous fork will be alive only before the next one Smiley

I can't guess how many forks we are going to see but I am sure that bitcoin forks aren't going to have good future. Bitcoin will beat them all by real world acceptance.

the forks will be continue when ever there will be  need to update the block of the block-chain. people should understand the concept of hardforks. Altcoins are being dumped it will be a chance for you to buy them and maintain your portfoilio

How many Bitcoin forks can we expect to see?
a lot more.
so far there has been a lot of them already (about 600 or so) and there will be a lot more.
the forks of BCH type where they also use the blockchain, will also gain popularity in the near future and there will probably be a couple of hundred of those too.

How much of Bitcoin's future value will be in the main fork and how much will be in Bitcoin child coins?
the value of bitcoin will not change. it will continue as it was before, being adopted and growing.
the "child coins" will remain as altcoins, most of which useless.

there may be some sell pressure temporarily on bitcoin only if these "child coins" didn't have a way of dumping them directly to fiat. but they have had that option so far so that effect is also non-existent.

How can we make Bitcoin unforkable?
you can not.
bitcoin is open source and the license of it allows anyone to freely use that code however they wish. and it is actually a good thing that they keep forking bitcoin, it proves how strong bitcoin is and how shitty all these nonsense forks are.

I hope that there will be zounds of forks. Because every fork divides the BTC-Community and makes it weaker. And on the other hand: People should get bored from forks, so that no BTC-fork will affect the altcoinmarket again in a way like it actually does. At least rips every fork the masks of the BTC fans faces and shows what they are made of: Made of greed like any other.

By the way: I like BTC and the idea behind very much. But the development has moved in the wrong direction and is more destructive than any other thing at the market. This development has to fail to bring BTC back to its roots. Șo fork it whenever and wherever you can.

The Bitcoin fork is pushed by miners and invest teams who can profit much from it, this has been demenstrated by BCC. It is hard to say how many times will Bitcoin fork, it depends on the interests behind it.

Forks are going to be countless so long as there are developers trying to get money out of thin air from the core, they'd be leeching it.

In the future will have hundred of Bitcoin child versions if Bitcoin forks situation continuously going on. Most of people have already gone through one and realize that it's a great way to get free Bitcoin. It will happen because of the many issues with Bitcoin.

There is only one Bitcoin and that should be the only one.  All these Bitcoin babies from the forks will just be dumped to purchase Bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies.  The same goes for most airdrops out there.  I just hope this doesn't get into a trend like all these "E" coins coming out lately.

@jrobi4life. If government regulators start coming after ICOs on 2018, then I reckon there will be more bitcoin hardforks. Why? Because ICOs will stop and the scammers will turn to other ways to make easy money.

I reckon bitcoin gold is the first scam fork of bitcoin out there. Let us see how the exchanges react. If they react to it favorably, then expect more hardforks to come.

If everyone did not know, be informed that there is a premine in bitcoin gold.

Ah sure man! You are genious. I wonder wtf is Bitcoin Gold is about...right China had ban ICOs!

Also I think Bitcoin forking problem is more global than just only ICO ban.

It is stuck in development. It is forking with minor upgrades.

See Segwit minor upgrade = fork

blok size = fork

After all when they decide to implement RSK to BTC they will also fork. What about MUST, CT, Lighting Network? Its all will be forked xD So my prediction we will see at least 2 more forks Bitcoin RSK and Bitcoin LN (lighting network) xD

Do not buy Bitcoin, buy alts you ll get much more than 20% from S2X free money.

Since bitcoin will be lasting longer than our lifetime right now, I guess there will be many more rounds of forks coming. We will see more of the likes of Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, etc. Perhaps after bitcoin gold, we will see bitcoin silver and then bitcoin bronze, bitcoin diamond, and bitcoin tin can.  Grin Grin Anyway, I prefer that bitcoin will stay single and solid.

I've heard the bitcoin fork is contentious hardfork, as you can see a lot of people are giving their cricitics regarding that problem. The bitcoin already forked and that will not unforkable. The possible thing to stop this strange fork.
