making a living from bitcoin, depends completely on you and what you are planning on doing in order to earn bitcoin. in other words it depends on the job you are doing!
for example if you are planning on working faucets, gambling, and other silly ways to earn bitcoin; then you should not expect to "earn a living" through that.
but you can make good money through other ways like online computer jobs like coding, graphical design, etc and thing in that category or even trading can be profitable.

Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?

Yes it is if you are able to earn a decent amount of bitcoins a month
For a middle - class family of size 4, BTC1 bitcoin might be enough to stay, live and eat
And thats in my country. Can't tell about others

In my country, you'd need to sell at least 1.5BTC a day to make a good enough living
ASSUMING you already have a house and pay around 3BTC per month for bills, 0.5BTC every day for food
0.3BTC for entertainment purposes, and maybe 1BTC a month for health insurance lol.

So yeah, as long as you have a good long stream of Bitcoin,
and a house here in the Philippines -- You can live here on Bitcoin

What is the estimated earning of a antminer s7?
More than 1BTC a month i think is good enough, since it cost more than 8BTC including the PSU.
But in less than 10 months there will be a halving does it affect directly the mining earnings?

Yup you get half the coins.

You can check a miner's potential profit here - http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator

I thought we were long past the phase it was considered viable for the little guy.

I calculated that if at the moment you can earn around 1.2BTC monthly -0.2BTC i speculate the electricity so 1BTC monthly.
In 8 months you can reach the ROI if you mine 24/7, so until the next halving you can earn 2BTC + selling the antminer s7 as a bonus if you want to leave at that moment, so i can think that you can make a living if you own many of these miners and have a stable electricity.
And what if a new miner comes out before then that completely crushes the s7 in efficiency?  What if your miners break?  These are all possibilities you'll have to consider.  A huge risr in difficulty making the mining calculations incorrect would not be unheard of.

Well, I'm not talking about mining here.
Also how much can you make on localbitcoins?
Because it has more traders and greater competition.

Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?

Yes, if you make enough btc online, but it's similar to running a business. You need an effective method to get that much bitcoins.

Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?
yes it is possible if you can sell 20 bitcoins per month but the question is how you can get them?

why 20, 1 btc is 240, with 4 btc you can already have a decent life, if you can afford those every month

3 antminers s7 can do(almost) this if electricity is 0

Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?

Depends on your regions prices. For me I would need 2 btc/month to have a decent life, however I cant earn that much online , so it will take more time to reach that level.

Yes it is possible, but of course you need to have the bitcoins first

(is this thread a "how to earn BTC thread" in disguise?)

The hard part is where are people getting these places with 0 electricity costs. I do not understand it as most landlords if it's included would not be happy if your bills had multi-hundred more then past tenets in electricity.

Only places I have that did not measure were student housing.  And they were pretty expensive really.  Great housing but not cheap and not a lot of power to play around with.

yeah, was an ideal scenario, but he can add two more antminer s7 to overcome the electricity cost, if it is around 0.05, otherwise better forget tohe mining and go with job--->exchange fiat to bitcoin

Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?

That depends on whether you want to live small or live big...which way are you looking?

If you are not mining them the hard part will be getting BTC for low and selling high.   Buy low and sell high some will say as if it's simple but the value changes rapidly. So a profit is not a sure thing.

Also those who sell bitcoin have a heck of a premium, as sadly it's a high fraud area.   I personally only mine or buy from exchange.

I assume the OP is talking about selling via Localbitcoins or something like that. In that case your concerns will be spread and volume and the right place to buy them from at the right time.

There appear to be professional traders on there but you'd be working awful hard and dealing with a lot of flaky assholes. You'd need your bank accounts and local regulation in order too otherwise you'd be shut down rapidly. There's gotta be easier livings to be had out there but it's quite possible.

A lot of the exchanges if the suspect you selling on localbitcoins they will close your account.  So you really would need to find a way to get BTC regulary other then a echange.

I'm speaking about US specifically.  As if you are selling BTC from say coinbase they will not like that.  It has to do with KYC they have to do a lot to keep legal.  I also suggest you look into laws a lot of times if you do localbitcoins in US it could be considered money laundering.

Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?

I really don't get this thread and your question? I am pretty sure that others were answering without knowing what you wanted to ask OP?

The only thing that makes sense to me is that you are interested in trading bitcoins, buying and selling them maybe on localbitcoins and living of the sales difference. But even this would depend of living expenses and in which country do you live?
