Depends what your ways to earn bitcoin itself + how much you spend bitcoin / months. bitcoin price itself need considered too, increased price = hard to earn it, let's assume earn bitcoin through selling service which now worth 10$ in 0.06 bitcoin, then if the price rise your bitcoin amount will reduced, unless using bitcoin fixed rate(i think it will make hard to get a project).

25 BTC good enough to used as retirement, personally i will using as much as i can earn bitcoin for retirement, when i have a project which i got paid using fiat.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure...
I would have to assume at least 100 bitcoins if they stayed around the same price or similar to today (within 2-5x the price). The problem is you never know what they'll be worth so obviously  not saving for retirement only with bitcoins. Also I don't get any tax breaks for owning bitcoins  Tongue so that's always an issue too.

i think 25 bitcoin is enough for your life and if you are not spend too much for buying all the product you want. and if you have simple living and not to follow the hot trends then i think you can pension and retirement with your bitcoin. because if we just follow the hot trends and not make saving then how many bitcoin you have in your wallet should be fast to be empty and i am sure that you don't want this is happen.
You have no idea how fast the world move, in the future the our expenses will be bigger and we can only be satisfied with 25BTC if by the time bitcoin's price will also increase.

25 btc is only a small capital. Yes the price of 1 btc is high but i think this is not enough for a retirement. 75 btc will do and that 75 byc should be use wisely. This enouhh amount of money can help to put a business that will help you to sustain your daily needs in life. Invest on something profitable and save for emergency purpose. I think if your business succeed, you can also the trend and have a peaceful life in your retirement.

25+ BTC is probably the ballpark for what you're going to need to have under your name if you want to retire with it and have it be a sizeable sum. More practically you're probably looking at something over 100 Bitcoin if you retire around 45 and you want to live off of your Bitcoin alone for the rest of that time, although you'll also have a low quality of living, assuming that you go off of current prices.

With that 45 bitcoin on the day of your retirement will be just a good capital for investment that can sustain you for the rest of your life surviving and living not that too elegant. But if you want to be elegantly living, maybe hundred to thousand bitcoins is the right quantity for sustaining your life and as well as your family without any proper investment but just pure expenditure.

I believe in the future bitcoin price will keep on rising, so maybe around 100btc because i predicted the price will be above 1000$, so that will be enough for me to retire in my country

It depends on what the price of Bitcoin is now vs what the price of Bitcoin will be at the time of your retirement. Also it would depend on the average salary in different countries in the world. What would seem enough for you to retire comfortably might not be enough for me to lead a normal lifestyle in my country for example. I think 100 BTC is the bare minimum for Europe because the cost of living is high. Bitcoin has so many variables that I would just choose a solid pension fund and save Bitcoins every month from my salary as I go on the side. It's a win-win situation.

Since I am living on that country which is quite fair to consider for the cost of living. 100 bitcoin will be not just enough for an individual who has a family to support even he is already in retirement. But if the price of bitcoin will reach $10,000 but I don't know if we are able to make that amount of bitcoins before retirement. And for the average age and salary of newbie I guess if we will convert it to bitcoin today 1 bitcoin is just enough for a monthly wage.

In my opinion 25 bTC is sufficient to make at the retirement .
I also thinks that if we have btc of amount 25btc then it is only sufficient at the current time but if You are asking about for next 20-25 year then you need to have 100 BTC because of the reason of rising price in the things in real world .

I think it depends on which country you are living. There are some countries that 25 BTC is equivalent to millions and to some is not. Also another factor is the standard of living. There countries which is very expensive to live. For me it is more than 100 BTC.
yes that was true that because cost of living from each countries will not same for an example on my country with cost $250-$350 i can able to feed my family in a month so 1 btc from the current rate can able to feed my family at least for two months but there will be huge different if somebody else live at England or US because the cost of living will be much bigger at there so basically OP will found different answers coming from various countries in the world

Hi, Good to see that you have removed your negative trust. 25 btc is a good amount and is sufficient only if btc gains good value. If it's  good for Retirement or not depends on many factors such as the life style of the person, place where he or she lives. What the price of bitcoin will be and the list goes on.

I recommend everyone to allocate some money every week or month and invest into bitcoin for retirement.

OP's question is unanswerable, also because the starting post lacks necessary information. Without knowing the time of retirement and the desired standard of living in a certain country no prediction can be made. "Average Age and Salary" is not helpful in that regard, because what's considered "average" greatly varies from person to person and country to country.

However even if these variables would be properly defined, it would still be impossible to make any accurate prediction, because there remain many factors that may influence the amount of BTC needed, whose future influence remains unknown. The two most important are likely the price appreciation of goods and the success of Bitcoin as a currency.

So in my view, picking any number is pure speculation. What's sure: You shouldn't plan your future solely based on Bitcoin. Even if the outlook is bright, you can never be sure about the outcome in a few decades.

To all!
My question is for those of us who wasn't aware of Bitcoin at the start and earning an average salary.
Lets say that the person needs to start investing in Bitcoin today, say per month - a few Sats at a time (as much as you would pay into average pension plan)
Lets assume the person has ZERO Bitcoin.

So...

If you mined 1000's Bitcoin 8 years ago then this is probably not for you but I would still appreciate your views.
Some of you may live in countries where 10 dollars is a large amount of money.
Some of you may live in Oil Rich Countries where your Bitcoins are made of 22k Gold and mounted on the wall.
Some of you may be investors, miners, speculators, scammers / fraudsters, lawyers, School Teachers, Firefighters or Toilet Cleaners (yes and unemployed too)

But for the average struggling person, who wants to retire comfortably and doesn't like the idea of a pension plan...

Why do you think the minimum amount of Bitcoin is to Hold? What is your target?

Personally, mine is 25BTC, assuming that BTC is still around in 20 years, I would hope that it would be worth say 100,000 in todays money. (I hope)
I have chosen 25 because it was the size of the reward before recent halving, and its my personal challenge.
This is speculation, so you may assume a BTC is worth 500 dollars in 20 years and that affects the amount you think you should put away.

Yes its a punt, and this may be full of holes! That's why I am asking you guys  Cheesy

If the question is not clear, or has a few holes in it, then let me know and I will rephrase it.

I don`t assume that bitcoin will be around after 25 years.

Your question isn`t good. It`s not about quantity of bitcoin,it`s about how much they cost.

You can have 1000 btc but the price might be 200$ after 1 year or you can have 100 btc and the price

might be 9000$.
